Mulcair should listen to his old self who once sang the praises of Margaret Thatcher

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Liberals are taking particular glee in an old video of Thomas Mulcair singing the praises of Britain's Margaret Thatcher and her pro-free market ways.

His comments, including the statement that "government intervention doesn't work", were made at the National Assembly in Quebec when he was part of the opposition Liberals who at that time were fighting back against the Parti Quebecois and their economy destroying socialist policies.

This video shows that even Mulcair knows that the Quebec model doesn't work, a fact which Statistics Canada figures confirm in comparisons of median family income among the larger provinces. Quebec is a beautiful province with a lot of potential, but economically it doesn't work.

If Mulcair used to understand this, why would he want to bring the Quebec model, including national day care, to the whole country?

It's easy to just laugh about this and dismiss it but instead, I think it's worth paying attention to what the old Thomas Mulcair had to say and suggest that he take some of his own advice and stop trying to bring the failed Quebec model to the rest of Canada, a model which just leaves everyone poorer and in equal misery.

Mulcair is a consummate political opportunist and as such will change his rhetoric like a chameleon – tell ’em what they wanna hear , change up as needed. Hardly someone who has any long term commitment to principles. I have watched Mulcair flip flop on policy at least 8 times in the little I watch CPAC commons QP. He says one thing in Quebec and another in ROC – typical Quebec politician – and one who is not unfamiliar with the brown paper envelope political culture of that province.

This is why I hate the two cent lawyer so much. He would represent any ideology anytime. He attempted to work for Harper at one point. Attempting to add 2500 more police is Conservative policy. The hypocrisy of a NDP praising Thatcher is unbelievable. Calling Mulcair “A two cent lawyer” is sooo fitting.

You can just imagine why real NDPers, with NDP ideology, are not saying a word

DEBORAH GRAUPNER – Very astute comment. The schools should spend more time on “how to” instead of “how does that make you feel?” They’re not schools, they’re indoctrination camps.

Tommy Tantrum seems to have pulled a page from Groucho Marx’s book: “Those are my principles, and if you don’t like them…well, I have others.” This guy has more colours in his coat than the one Jacob gave to Joseph.

If Mulcair wants to be prime minister he should repeat his Margaret Thatcher message in English, join the conservative party of Canada and run against Harper in conservative party convention. Some commenters mentioned that young people tend to be socialist there is a saying if you are young and not a socialist you don’t have a heart and as you get older and still are socialist you don’t have a brain. Interesting Mulcair went the other way when young he sung the praises of conservatism he got older and sings the praises of socialism. What happened is he losing his brain?

The biggest reason that the younger generations are so easily swayed, is due to the socialist indoctrination, that they have been receiving all their lives, in our school system. We the parents, have been shown the door by the system, and now they want to cut the parents out altogether. Tom’s cheap daycare, is just another way to brainwash and control our kids at a younger age. This is what Hitler did with the youth. They are not teaching the basics, but are focused on dumbing down our kids, so that they are lazy and have no drive. We need to get the unions out of our schools, and we need to go back to the basics in education, if we want to change what is happening.

Most people tilt toward the left when they are young, naive and know everything but as they mature they realize the world is not populated with Pixies and Unicorns and that most people have to struggle to make ends meet then start shifting to the right. It takes a real special kind of entitlement to continue shifting further and further to the left until you believe you have to try to outdo Karl Marx.

There is a site where you can get a conservative viewpoint from the US. It is at Glen Beck’s site and you can sign up for their daily newsletter called ‘Firewire’ for free. Like The Rebel you will hear the things that the MSM does not tell you.

Keith Barnes said, " … his Muslim Partners"

And Justin is no better in that regards. We cannot let these clown sit in that PM chair, for Canada’s sake!!

I don’t know any Journalists that actually have the nerve to confront Quebec, That was good. Now if you really want to demonstrate the Unionist attitude of PQ—— Then use Maple Syrup. I am not joking. These politicians really are the Mafia. Maple Syrup — totally demonstrates Quebec Politics, . It is really so simple. If the ROC knew what was going on in PQ——they would NOT believe it.

We have a very sick bunch of voters—— They don’t even want to raise their own Children.
How bloody lazy and useless is that ?
If you honestly don’t want to be bothered with your OWN kids——then vote NDP.

If Mulcair wins the Election, it will mean the beginning of the end of Canada, as we know it. He has made a lot of commitments to his Muslim Partners, that will have to be fulfilled.
Tommy Boy, you will drag us all into your dreams of Utopia. 1950s USSR with a Mosque on every corner. You who once admired Maggie Thatcher. What a Bloody Wanker.

" It will be Nanny State with no economy, business or freedom!"

The very definition of socialist heaven.
commented 2015-08-19 18:42:43 -0400
Should Mulcair and the wolves get voted in – we are going to have to so much red tape and regulations shoved down our throats that we will allmost be nullified from doing anything with a positive business idea! It will be Nanny State with no economy, business or freedom!

“The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other
people’s money.” Margaret had it right.
Dana Moore, this statement is exactly why I would NEVER vote NDP.
Thank You.

I live in a riding currently held by the Dippers. I recently received an email asking for donations (not a chance!) and filling out a “survey”. I have cut and pasted the “survey”. Note limited opportunity for comments to state what you really think! I will not respond to this “survey” as I regard it as pure propaganda! I had previously returned a flyer (paid for out of parliamentary funds no doubt) that had been received prior to the election call stating my opposition for more Socialist related spending like daycare and asking where on earth the money was going to come from. No answer of course…………………….!

I believe the Thatcher was THE first world leader to be concerned with global warming. Her administration spent billion of pounds investigating and found that the concerns were unfounded…. they then moved on to real issues.

Based on the “jobs and economy” argument, troodo and no-cair are going to wreck Canada.

Another “gotcha” that demonstrates what a nazi pig no-cair really is.

So now it’s up to Canadian voters – Germany didn’t have a choice – hitler was appointed. Canadians have a choice. It just a question of how gullible/stupid Canadian voters really are.

One of my favorite Margaret Thatcher sayings is “The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other
people’s money.” Guess Tommy didn’t take this to heart (if he has one).

Now there was a real leader, Margaret Thatcher! We need a Margaret Thatcher here in AB, not this Daisy May, that we landed. It seems Tom will dance to any tune, that will give him a chance at bullying Canadians, into his socialist pipe dream. Socialism = Shared Misery
Give me capitalism any day!
