Mulcair, Trudeau complain about "secret" TPP -- but they turned down the chance to read it

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Let's look at the NDP and Liberal reaction to the TransPacific Partnership (TPP) trade deal that Harper signed just two weeks before the Canadian election.

The NDP's Thomas Mulcair was quick to denounce the deal, while Liberal leader Justin Trudeau said he'd respond after the election.

Both said they were put off by the "secrecy" surrounding the negotiations -- as if you'd go into any negotiation by making your positions clear in advance!

But here's the thing:

Canada's non-partisan Privy Council Office offered Mulcair and Trudeau a confidential briefing on the TPP details before they are finalized -- but they turned it down!

Of course they did. Here's why...

BS. They never got a chance to read it. They got a chance to review chapter summaries a few days before the election, which is altogether too little time to take it in.

Moreover, there was a clause that they could not say anything about it. Meanwhile, the promise was that it would be available to all Canadians before the election, not a muzzling clause on chapter summaries presented to the party leaders.

It was a trap. Nothing more, nothing less.

That makes sense, if they read it they could not claim it was secretive … must be what they called his “hidden agenda” … Tweedledum and Tweedledumer showed up by Elizabeth May ; That should be embarrassing, if they were total narcissists void of humility!

Bryan said, “going to school and reading books is one thing.. real life is very different”

What do you think he has been doing as PM?

Look, the reality is that people other than blind left wingers like yourself, such as economist all over the world have said that the Harper Conservative government has done an excellent job on the economy.

I know you don’t want to believe that. It is your prerogative to blind yourself to facts simply because you do not like Harper.

The worst PM’s in history were all Liberal. Vote for PM Harper, he is the best!

Bryan Edward Harper has been in power for 10 years and going into another election. Not bad for someone who you call the worst Prime Minister in history. Apparently enough voters saw it differently.

@peter Netterville: going to school and reading books is one thing.. real life is very different.. I am not sure what your profession is but as an P.Eng I can tell you that what you learn in field can not be taught in university.. those skills you develop in the field and experience is the only way to become P.Eng. and guess what was his actual experience prior to becoming PM? I am sure you know the answer..

Regarding his performance as a PM.. He is listed as one of the WORST PM in history of Canada.. I provided you with a valid source. If the source doesn’t agree with you then it is your problem, not mine..

Dan Mancuso – Liberals detest facts, which is why they lie so much, to distort the truth! I hope their house of cards, falls today.

BRYAN EDWARDS;
You say: “Stephen Harper is not an economist.”
Really? Well why don’t you give this a read, if you can, and then comment…

Bryan Edwards, go spread you propaganda bullshit on the CBC where they will laud you and fall in love with you. They like believing in lies on that website.
commented 2015-10-19 14:56:06 -0400
Bryan said, "Harper’s ACTUAL economic record: BEYOND POOR. "

Bullshit.

He lead us through the greatest recession since the great depression and kept the country as one of the top economies. But you are right about one thing, “Facts are facts, but you can try to convince yourself otherwise..” Except that you have the wrong facts. Many of the world’s leading economists say that Canada under the Harper government did better than most of the nations.

You can believe whatever lies you like, Bryan Edwards, but you are wrong.

Bryan Edwards said, “you can finish your engineering degree but if you don’t actually work in related field and get your experience and become P Eng. you are NOT an engineer..”

A difference that makes no difference is no difference. He has the education. He has the knowledge. What? You think that working in the field "activates the neurons and synapses of the brain to enable that knowledge, otherwise it is a useless mass of knowledge until then? You are just talking semantics, meaningless semantics.

Brian Edwards, no but being the Prime Minister does. Mr. Harper is an economist because of the experience of the last 11 years.
commented 2015-10-19 14:21:59 -0400
@peter Netterville; you can finish your engineering degree but if you don’t actually work in related field and get your experience and become P Eng. you are NOT an engineer.. same for economist.. job as a mailroom clerk doesn’t give you the experience an economist should be getting..

I for one don’t believe the polls! The only one that counts is the one tonight.
commented 2015-10-19 13:11:21 -0400
Ignorance is bliss and if these supposed Polls are accurate I believe we as Canadians’ are about to find out what a true ignorant dictatorship government is really like!

Sorry, not Brian Craig, but Brian Edwards
commented 2015-10-19 13:03:58 -0400
Bryan Craig said, “Stephen Harper is not an economist.”

Not true. Stephen Harper completed a bachelor’s degree in economics in 1985 at the U of C. He is educated as an economist. You should do your research.

CANADIANS, READ THAT QUOTE THREE TIMES AND THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE. NO DICTATORSHIP HERE!
commented 2015-10-19 12:46:08 -0400
@glenn Craig – Stephen Harper is not an economist. Harper worked as a mailroom clerk at the oil company prior to becoming PM.. And he is running ads saying Justin is not ready and has no experience.. wow..
commented 2015-10-19 12:44:13 -0400
really?? and you forgot to mention that there was a confidential clause to that meeting?? why show the deal when you make the person sign not to discuss the details outside the room??

CANADIAN CINCINNATUS

“Why Stephen Harper deserves re-election
Unlike some of the Republican candidates in the US Presidential election, who chose to live life large, Stephen Harper has chosen to live life incrementally – taking a lot of small steps, but all in the right direction.
The reason why he has done so was explained to me by top Conservative strategists at a party event held a few weeks after Stephen Harper’s first win in 2006 against Liberal Paul Martin. After losing to Paul Martin in 2004, Harper realized that the most important obstacle to overcome was the Liberal meme – repeated ceaselessly since 1993 – that Conservatives (and their Reform predecessors) are too extreme for Canada. Harper’s solution was to move forward incrementally without making any moves that could trigger the Liberals to say, Ahah! See I told you. Until now, this strategy has been successful.
Unfortunately, it has a defect. It leaves some conservatives frustrated because they fail to see the steady progress Stephen Harper has made to date. They think Harper isn’t doing anything, or they have been caught up in nothing scandals like the Mike Duffy circus. If this is you, don’t be fooled. Harper has accomplished a great deal.
For starters…”

Harper signed the free trade deal with Europe about a year ago with little/no shitstream media coverage. This deal is larger than NAFTA.

Neither of the communist fucks, mulcair, nor troodo, said a word – beyond their voter base’s comprehension.

Now TPP is an issue – and this shitstream media is all over this with the decorum and tact like that of a herd of fat kids tackling an icecream truck.
commented 2015-10-19 12:07:20 -0400
I have no idea of the contents…but I anticipate it will be a good deal. Stephen Harper is an economist…Tom Mulcair is a lawyer who can’t count…and Justin is an actor who seems to be fooling more and more people…at least according to the polls. Where is the link to get live feed of the polls?
commented 2015-10-19 11:51:08 -0400
A classic case of dumb and dumber, promoted by a propagandist MSM. God bless PM Stephen Harper, and Canada, with another strong majority conservative government!

No surprise here – it is the lib and dipper way.

I note that the media also forgot to mention this.

Just more agenda driven politics – the country does not matter to those who are in it for the ego.
