NDP Jobs Minister wants to bring Syrian refugees to Alberta

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Alberta has lost 40,000 jobs so far this year, so you'd think that NDP Jobs Minister Lori Sigurdson would be busy.

I've already discussed how in the midst of this difficult time for Alberta, she took time away from the important work that needs to be done here to go campaign for Thomas Mulcair in British Columbia.

Well, she's back in Alberta now.

Did she come back with a new resolve and determination to fix the problems here?

No. That would be too hard. Instead she made a different announcement that is much more fashionable and easier, even though it's not even the Provincial NDP's jurisdiction.

Sigurdson announced that she wants to bring Syrian refugees to Alberta -- but has she considered how bringing in thousands of unskilled, often illiterate and sometimes traumatized people into Alberta might effect Alberta's economy?

Probably not, but it's easier to play to the media and run errands for Tom Mulcair.

And it's a lot more fun than trying to figure out how to fix what her NDP government has broken in Alberta.

How long has the NDP been in power in Alberta? I’m not sure that I understand what they have “broken”. Was it not the Conservatives that were in power for the last 44 years? Since May – the NDP have certainly done a lot of damage – apparently. I am sure t

Ron, exactly. These people have no idea how to run a business. If a corporation did this they would bankrupt. Alberta was big business a few months ago. And now many talented people are seeking work often lowered expectations. We need to grab the reins tight or we’re ALL gonna lose control. Like a business, you need people working. And me and many I know aren’t. How are we going to turn this back around ?
VOTE ! Conservative and tell your friends and enemies.

In response to ‘Sigurdson announced that she wants to bring Syrian refugees to Alberta — but has she considered how bringing in thousands of unskilled, often illiterate and sometimes traumatized people into Alberta might effect Alberta’s economy?’, I say, as a fellow Jew and Canadian, you have a short memory and are lacking in compassion. During the 2nd world war, Canada turned ships with Jewish refugees around to send them back to the gas chambers. They were probably people who had sentiments similar to yours.
I want share what I have with the Syrian refugees, even in this time of economic adversity. I believe that the majority of Albertans will too.

God help Alberta…probably the NDP will be a 1 hit wonder. Totally agree with Kevin Emsley. I am there too.

I want to just throw this out there , a Canadian who was born and worked their entire life in Canada and who contributed the max CPP will receive approximately $1050 per month . Having just read an article saying that if you come to Canada as a REFUGEE you will receive $2050 . How is this fair and who do you think is footing this bill? Times that number by the 25000 the NDP and liberal party want to welcome to our shores.

Yikes, it’s like the reigns of power have been handed over to a bunch of mindless adolescents!

She is NDP, this means she has misguided Brainwaves, for a start. If these ,so called Refugees are proven, not to be, Hijrah, which means ‘Jihad by Immigration’ and if they agree to give up their Dogma of Islam, a political platform. Then perhaps two or three should be allowed into Canada. They would, of coarse, have to be sterilized, also. :~)

To only reason some insulated Dip would say such a stupid thing is because they feel they personally will not be in competition for jobs with these migrants. I bet the unions think differently, if they don’t, then the union brass has totally sold out their membership to the crony capitalists who want to drive down labor wages with a 3rd wold work force.

Democrat=Liberal=Socialist. They’re all the same. Don’t get me wrong, I hate the Conservative Corporate Welfarists too. But, holy cow these “people” have no concept of reality.

You want to help these people. Quit you jobs and let them have yours. Give till it hurts a bit. Move out of your fancy homes and get a cheap appt. So then can move in to your homes. Now that would be giving. Leave other people’s money alone for a change.

Why is it so hard to be a Canadian? Is it because we are always presented with one problem after another? A conundrum wrapped in another conundrum? Well should we once look after each other? I do. Albertans should do just that , look out for each other, once done then look out other folks that need help. Peter Neterville we will stand together one day at the legislation in Alberta fighting for our freedom. Freedoms that the left have no idea that we know and feel on a daily basis. Freedoms that my father and I and many others fought and died for. Why is this so hard for the left to understand? I really believe that if push comes to shove the Alberta ndp’s will fold up if they’re confronted by a mass of demonstrations against their policies

Warren said, “BEFORE you force them to exterminate the pesky socialist population.”

Sounds like fun! I’ve got my can of bug spray!

Time for a revolution. Kicking out a govt is one thing, ridding a population of its majority socialist population quite another. No more difficult, however distasteful and unlikely. Sometimes in life the right thing to do for your future is the most difficult. So stop making life difficult for the hard working capitalists BEFORE you force them to exterminate the pesky socialist population. Just try to THINK a little BEFORE you ACT like a socialist do gooder. Consider your children and their future.

I don’t believe any of us wish ill will to these refugees but the fact remains that all of our provinces are going through hard times, not only Ontario or Alberta but everywhere. How would we support refugees that would flood into our country. Every province is facing unemployment issues. I am just wondering where this jobs minister plans to generate work for these people when so many here are already unemployed. Another more important fact is that these refugees are coming from a country bombarded with terrorists and how can we possibly tell the good from the bad. I would be very afraid of who we could innocently let infiltrate our country. I am sorry if I have offended anyone with my comments but it is not an impossibility that this could actually happen. I applaud Steven Harper for saying he will do what is best and safest for Canada and its people.

she is an idiot! we are losing jobs here because of them (NDP) and she is bringing them? NDP is wrecking our economy here in Alberta!
commented 2015-09-09 22:22:49 -0400
Yes the ND’s will create all sorts of shovel-ready jobs….jobs digging Graves, that is. After the Alta election I visited the ND website to check on their platform No. 1, “Diversify the economy”. However there was no indication what that meant. Why not make Ft Mac a gigantic dude ranch or an international Centre for providing abortions? Complete with casino and gay couples wedding Centre and health spa.

That is a really good point Kelvin. There is some push back going to happen.
There has to be a way to send these socialist dogs back to Ontario. They even give Ontario a bad name.
I would also like to see that smarmy smirk wiped off Notely’s face, and now the ridiculous antics of this jobs minister! They are all going to have to disappear when this is over, just like the other turncoats. Albertans aren’t going to take this sitting down. Things are going to start backfiring.

Those polls don’t mean anything Yvette. You watch.

Hundreds of good hardworking Albertans are getting laided off daily and this bitch wants to bring in refugees. Anymore I’m thinking that if they want to please us that they would introduce RECALL legislation. It could pass in a heartbeat.
commented 2015-09-09 21:26:01 -0400
Every time I see a picture of Notley she has that little smirky smile on her face & ditto for Sigurdson…..hee..hee..hee….never in your wildest dreams (Albertans) did you think we would be running Ab, but here we are. This is really getting scary, Rebels. Our liberal newspaper published the results of 3 different polls & the NDP are #1 with the Libs 2nd & Conservatives 3rd. The lefty media has got to be driving these numbers up & there doesn’t seem to be a darn thing we can do to stop this. It’s so frustrating that the only other conservative voice we had on TV (Sun News) were driven out because of the unfairness of the CRTC & because of that Liberals & socialists (who might have tuned in) are glued to CBC & CTV, who will never give the Tories credit for anything & so they continue to listen to their politics & believe everything they hear.
Sigurdson should be doing her ministerial job & leave the refugee problem to the Feds. Like Ezra mentioned, with all the current unemployment happening how many more does she want to add to the list. They’re all acting like kids on their. 1st day in kindergarten class.

And that Naheed Nenshi comment? When did Alberta become Albertistan? Sharia law in Alberta?

T BLACK = I know what you are saying. I have been hitting the comment section of particularly the CBC. What is amazing is the number of people that are backing Harpers decision on the refugees. Someone commented on that point and there were 4 98 likes. Many people are siding with the Conservatives. There usual commentators are even complaining about all the posts and calling them Harpers staffers putting in comments. One went so far as to say that the CBC is Conservative oriented
I am sure they got a chuckle out of that. However with all the support being shown on a CBC site is the media and polls saying the Conservatives are doing so badly. Makes you wonder.

Wait a minute — didn’t Parliament enact legislation limiting the number of foreign workers in any given company? Like, a max of 10%?

Where are all these “refugees” going to work?

Wait another minute — this is the NDP we’re talking about. They won’t work; they’ll just siphon off the welfare system…
commented 2015-09-09 19:18:24 -0400
Some posing as refugees when in fact are not from fleeing war but are seeking economic opportunity… so the Star reported. Belgrade couple with 6 kids lived on welfare for several yrs in Germany till deported in middle of night back to Belgrade, said going back to German after the 2 yr. validity is lifted. He was given 900eu, food etc. Has no intention of working in future. We need people willing to work not welfare recipients.

T. Black said: “is it possible some of these Polls’ are being cooked to influence and manipulate people into giving up on the Conservatives?” Don’t count it out. Money talks. The end justifies the means. Parliamentary funds being used for this fraud?
commented 2015-09-09 18:58:03 -0400
Reality Check! (not a lefty strong suit….) Oil prices and Dipper Gov’t are decimating jobs in Alberta. How are all these “refugees” going to be supported? Oh, yeah. Haven’t thought about that. Once Alberta joins the have not provinces, they can always whine to Ottawa for more cash!

Peter Netterville – thank god for that.

T. Black. With the universities, teacher unions, mainstream media and hundreds of Soros (and the like) funded special interest groups out there, we as a country are lost. Socialism is a failed system but Canaidians are being taught otherwise.
