NDP Ministers get schooled by farmers at Vegreville Bill 6 info session

Rebel Staff

Farmers and ranchers had a lot to say at the Vegreville Bill 6 information session. And the Rebel was there to hear it all.

Bill 6 is the NDPs farm unionization bill that seeks to put urban white collar office worker rules on Alberta farms and ranches.

December 8, Jobs minister Lori Sigurdson and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Deron Bilous tried to explain to 500 eastern Alberta farmers that Bill 6 was good for them and the farmers were having none of it. Local NDP MLA Jessica Littlewood was also in attendance.

In full disclosure, this is my riding. These Ministers came to dismiss the concerns of the people in my community. That’s infuriating.

The Hutterites from colonies all over eastern Alberta came to reject the faith based exemption they were given by the NDP government in Bill 6. Farmers and ranchers, big and small, from all across the region were there to voice their concerns and ask their questions. They got few answers.

At one point, we watched Local NDP MLA Jessica Littlewood defy the will of her own constituents. She put her party over the people she's paid to represent when she admitted to the frustrated crowd that she would be towing the NDP party line and voting for Bill 6.

I'm sure the residents of many rural ridings represented by these NDP talking point robots feel the same way as I do: they’ve sealed their fate as one term wonders.

And 2 days later, in the face of so much opposition from rural Alberta, Bill 6 was rammed through third reading. The farmers are still vowing to carry on with their rolling protests and town halls.

I used to think the onion was better, but now I just use the rebel for all of my funny/satire news stories, thanks guys! Does Ezra Levant still do standup comedy at hotels?

MLA Littlewood… what cowardice! What a traitor! To defy the community that entrusted you with their votes and bow down your communist party brass?! Pure disgrace. unforgiveable.

Sheila et all Rebels: I am in Ontario so there is little we can do to help besides becoming the refugees (assuming The Republic of Western Canada would accept us lol). Seriously, I think you should push on PC and Wild Rose to unite under some sort of new name and push for reelection. Perhaps even call Stephen Harper to facilitate this merger just like he did a decade ago with the other parties. I have no idea if this is doable, but if it is, it has to be done. Congratulations again Canada, Alberta and Ontario. You will reap what you sow.

Mr Crowell If we are to get rid of this socialist government it WILL be done legally! Understand?

So Alberta has the right of recall…Its time to recall the Nation Destruction Party.
commented 2015-12-13 10:59:43 -0500
The Right has to start being more aggressive like the Left. Rioting would be a good start.

When the representatives of the people defy the will of the people they are no longer the legitimate representatives. This Government is now illegal, they no longer have the right to represent or Govern. If the Government is illegal than non of their rules/laws apply to the people. Sorry Government I don’t recognize your authority. You can’t throw everyone into jail. You have just become a bunch of bureaucrats sucking on the teet of the public purse that is funded by the REAL hard working people of Alberta. Your all fired.

You still haven’t told me what you would do AB Patriot. Other than name calling, what’s your pitch?

KELVIN GRABOWSKY

No, dummy.

It’s about LEARNING from the US experience with their cultural war. Seriously, are you so stupid that you cannot even for one moment get that?

You are slacktivist because you’re all about the protests. Protests don’t work. You are the one that will roll over and be crushed by tyrants. I bet you’re too chicken to even believe that you are living in a cultural war in Canada right now. Obviously, you have a vagina.

And you’re to shut down the government how? Walking around them with a sign? Right, right. Go ahead.
commented 2015-12-11 14:50:49 -0500
Ab patriot, really? So what is your approach to sit and wait for the USA to help? Start your own culture war here if you think it will help. And what is so slacktivist about getting up in the face of tyrants that want to destroy your way of life? To sit idly by is not patriotic but pathetic. Tell you what if we succeed in shutting down this government I won’t even ask for an apology. I’ll even go one better I’ll buy you a shot of whiskey to celebrate.

KELVIN GRABOWSKY

It appears that you are inclined to spend all your days crying about progressives hurting you. Oh, Boo-Hoo. Whaaaaa…

The reality, since you have chosen to ignore it, is that you will have to really fight this time. No amount of protests is going to change anyone’s mind. The slacktivist approach you are promoting is typical of those who believe failure is their only option. Otherwise, go ahead – be a woman.

It’s called “Tunnel Vision”, you have one goal in mind and are willing to do absolutely anything to accomplish that goal. Notley’s goal is to make every Albertan dependent on the government, therefore making her the most important person in the province (see Mcguinty/Wynne in Ontario and now JT in Canada). Their world view, sitting on high, is that we should worship them and be grateful they have our best interests at heart, even if they don’t. The MSM accused Harper of being a dictator, but I see a lot more evidence from the newly elected autocrats.

That baby McQuaid had better step down now because things are going to get much worse for the NDP. We the public, need to constantly go after these crooks. This government has proven that it doesn’t care at all about those paying the bills. So let’s give them a good old fashioned run for their money. There offices need to be picketed daily, and make them uncomfortable. We have the right to protest, in spite of a government that is now afraid of the people, because they are killing our jobs off, and our way of life, against our wishes. We need to dog these criminals, until they resign from office!

Polls show ndp at 23% really? They haven’t hardly got out of the gate and show poll numbers like that? And you want to sit on your ass and wait? Strike now while the iron is hot.
commented 2015-12-11 08:42:39 -0500
So Ab, what are you saying, roll over and piss all over your belly like a whipped dog? That is utter bs. I’m fighting like everyone else I know. Live up to your moniker and show everyone what a patriot is.

Protesting will serve no good now. Notley will not listen, nor will her caucus. They will gerrymander the ridings before the next election. No doubt we will see the number of urban ridings increase tremendously – maybe double. Rural ridings will be decreased. This will is what 2019 will look like.

The cultural war in the US is growing at a furious pace and coming to a head. Next year will be year unlike anything seen since the Civil War. Albertans can learn much from the US Red States right now. But above all else, prepare for that which you hoped never would happen. The Red States are resigned to their situation, and they must really fight the progressive agenda and soundly defeat it. This about more than winning an election; this is about winning a war and destroying the most evil enemy ever seen: progressivism. Albertans would be wise to heed the events in the US and do likewise.

Simple Roy , it’s up to every dissenting Albertans to get out of his or her comfort zone and protest and become civil disobedient . You take a page out of their own play book and turn the tables on them. Once they see that we ain’t backing down they will give up government in a heartbeat, they are little spoiled bed wetters that most of them have never done an honest day’s work in their lives. It’ll be a piece of cake to topple these numb skulls, hell they are already crying in parliament and that was only their first bill. lmao
commented 2015-12-11 03:12:34 -0500
According to stupid ctv, cbc and global news which did a horrible, horrible job of covering this story, when these insane mla come back to the legislature, they will be putting on a carbon tax and the royalty review will be coming up as well as the business of putting up windmills and blanketing Alberta with these grotesque, useless eyesores. There is no stopping these ndp creeps. What the hell do we do now?
commented 2015-12-11 03:02:54 -0500
Again this nut bar has won in Alberta. I feel so unbelievably down. The evil and wicked nutley and trudope and wynn continue to take our jobs, our money, our freedom, and no amount of protesting is stopping them. The worst THESE human being they are, the more they win. I am so fed up. Mcquiad boyd in Alberta Legislature actually cried and played the PHONEY VICTIM CARD today, imagine the nerve of pretending to be the victim when IT WAS THE DAMN NDP THAT BULLIED 60,000 FARMERS AND RANCHERS.
commented 2015-12-11 01:04:40 -0500
They don’t realize, or don’t want to know, that the majority of the 50 to 60 thousand ‘farm workers’ that they claim to be helping, are the actual farm/ranch ‘operators’, the owners, the very people who are filling the halls, the parking lots and the legislature lawn to protest this dogs’ breakfast of a bill.
commented 2015-12-11 01:02:21 -0500
Maurice, William, I have sent your letter on to 3 different organizations that want to stop the NDP, and also agree with the lack of response from the rebel, but they get a lot of emails from around the country and have a pretty small staff.
It was nice to see maquaid boyd balling in the ledge this morning claiming that she knows what cyber bullying is like……. Best laugh I’ve had since these thugs took power. They know the pressure is on with all the phoney accusations that they are throwing at us Albertans. We’re violent and brutish, gun toting rednecks, and now cyber bullies. There won’t be a dry bed sheet in the ndp caucus beds tonight……. Lmao.
commented 2015-12-11 01:00:47 -0500
Thank goodness someone in the media will show commentary from the farmers/ranchers themselves, way to go Sheila and Rebel.com. The MSM show brief clips of protesters, a distorted or diluted summary of farmer/rancher complaints, and then an NDP apologist’s ‘so thoughtful’ response…’we’re just trying to help those downtrodden farm workers.’
commented 2015-12-11 00:04:43 -0500
It’s time for ALL right-minded (no pun intended) albertans start protesting everything this government wants to do. I’m shocked that alberta voted for them knowing that they’re ruined every province they,ve governed.

Peter, the nutley ndp is pushing this insane bill 6 through so hard because SHE is about to take their land rights away so she can put these grotesque, useless birdkilling windmills wherever she wants and farmers and ranchers will have no say nor be able to refuse the ndp communist jerks. This comes from one of her stooges in Basano last week. Word is she is involved with a US ENVIRONMENTAL COMPANY to do this, as usual anybody but Albertans. Why does this creature hate Albertans so much?

Maurice Potvin
I like your idea and am more than willing to participate. I have also sent an e-mail to The Rebel and requested a link be established on this site for anyone who wants to voluntarily send their e-mail address to coincide with their geographical location. People can then be connected and organize themselves into groups to start fighting back on all these taxes and regulations that are killing Alberta. I haven’t received a response yet.
