NDP MP Nathan Cullen raises possibility of coalition -- and don't believe those Liberal denials

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Coalition talk is back, this time due to comments from a senior New Democrat MP who says progressives should work together to unseat Harper and the Conservatives if the coming election ends in a minority.

The Liberals are screaming from the rooftops that they want nothing to do with this.

Watch and listen as Brian explains why you just can't believe Justin Trudeau or his buddy Gerald Butts when it comes to the subject of coalitions.

Look what has come out about that perfect NDP leader?? I wonder what else will come out about the Leadership of the NDP ? Now if he (Mulclair), the socialist, would just let Canadians know how much money his big plan for Canada will cost us including the Daycare ?? I wonder why Mulclair has not mentioned the cost! He probably knows that would send his poll numbers back to 20%. Every Canadian would run back to PM. Harper.

Anne – they will wait to see if they have the combined numbers, and then they will thwart democracy. They mentioned it prior to the last election, and the public responded, by giving PM Harper a majority.

I have to admit I didn’t know a person holding dual citizenship could hold public office. After all, in the States Ted Cruz had to give up his Canadian citizenship I believe. But so far as a coalition between the NDP and the Liberals, I should think it would have happened before now. To my way of thinking they’re the same. Socialists/communists. Same party platform.

brent i agree we should set up a petition or someonw should saying that dueal citizens should never run for prime minister
commented 2015-07-24 10:53:31 -0400
that would be the best thing for Canada that would push the right wing liberals who are somwhat liberal to the conservatives and the far left to the ndp which would benefit the conservatives. sorry mergers don’t work on the left.

Dual citizenship holders should never be allowed to run/lead any party/vote in any election, criminal, period!

Joan Abernethy commented: Rick, I know, eh? Dental implants. Correct. They’re waaaay too expensive to be grinding down!

Well it’s interesting that the polls are very accurate when it comes to conservatives being on top. The Rebel can’t stop talking about how well Donald Trump is doing in the polls and that he probably will become President.

Yes, I will cry if Harper wins.

I hope Harper takes another strong majority. I want to see Peter Mansbridge blubbering like a baby again. Please God, make so!

“If the election was today, NDP would win.” Perhaps. The only poll that really counts is the one on election day. Much can happen (and will) between now and then. Joan said: “In the hypothetical (if remote) chance of a Liberal or an NDP minority, would you accept a Harper-Mulcair coalition to defeat the Liberals and/or to defeat a Liberal-NDP coalition?” I think I would be grinding what’s left of my teeth a lot! They’re already very worn from the Trudeau Sr years! Tommie the Commie would have to pay back the money he owes the taxpayer and apologize (sincerely) for the transgression before I would even give it a thought. To be fair, the dippers do come up with some good ideas every now and again. If I recall correctly, Medicare was their brainchild way back when since adopted by all political parties. National Daycare is a terrible idea. Too expensive. The private sector can do it better. The Dippers would have to resist the urge to behave like spoiled brats when they don’t get their way, and act like grownups to get their point(s) across. No NDP Gov’t in Canada has ever managed that. Notely and crew in Alberta are still too fresh to have shown their true inclinations, although there have been hints.

Well, the election is not today and some say the NDP has peaked too soon. Time will tell. Once the writ drops, we’ll get a better sense of which party holds the best cards.

I’d accept a Harper-Mulcair coalition, if push came right down to shove. No right-thinking person should ever consider a coalition with Gerald Butts-puppeted Justin Trudeau. But if Trudeau or Mulcair were to win a minority, I’d hope Mulcair would coalesce (is that the verb?) with Harper before he’d ever risk Canada with a Trudeau coalition.

Seriously, folks, what do you think of that? In the hypothetical (if remote) chance of a Liberal or an NDP minority, would you accept a Harper-Mulcair coalition to defeat the Liberals and/or to defeat a Liberal-NDP coalition?

If the polls are correct, yes Jimmy, they would. However, polls are not very accurate. In several instances both federal and provincial the polls have been way off.

I do not know if Harper will win, but the Harper supporters here on this site want Harper to win because he really is the only viable candidate at this time.

And when Harper does win, it’ll be the lefties crying.

If the election was today, NDP would win. I know this kills the Harper lovers here and they are in denial mode right now – hoping that Harper can turn things around come election time.

A Lib/Dem partnership! God help Canada, for it will be the beginning of the end. We had better all go out and buy fancy dress garb, that we may look like Seventh Century Muslim Savages, that way, these Lib/Dem string pullers may let us live a little longer, or at least, use sharp knifes, to decapitate us. If you want to stay alive, VOTE FOR HARPER.

I’m with Vlad on this one.

Interesting as I raised this very possibility in a previous thread. Should NDP support start to soften after the writ is dropped, it would not be a stretch to see the Lieberals and Dippers, fearful of another Conservative Gov’t move post haste to unseat any probability of same by forming a lefty alliance. Socialists love power and the Lieberals love taxpayer monies. Seems like a shoo-in…………

I still and always maintained that a party dedicated to the break up of Canada is treasonous.

I don’t believe a word either one of these two say. Once a liar, always a liar, and they are both in that category. And this applies to the bloc head guy too.

Polls are full of sh*t. NDP majority of votes? Really?

Here’s the vote count from last election: http://www.electionalmanac.com/ea/canada-popular-vote-results/

Add liberals and enn-dee-pee votes and they have 50% count. Conservatives have 40%. Problem is that many who vote liberal also vote Conservative. The best that troodo can do is to take votes from no-cair (the soft-c’s have left troodo already).

Those that vote enn-dee-pee may vote liberal, but will not vote Conservative.

In short, this election is already over. Harper should take this one by a larger majority than last election. Do the math folks.

The enn-dee-pee is taking from the left and the Conservatives from the right. And man-child troodo is like a carcass on the savanna being picked clean by the Lions and the hyenas (the enn-dee-pee).

This election is very simple.. IF you are young and naive, or older, and despite the warnings, took the brown acid at Woodstock any how, vote green. All others, vote Conservative. If this is too difficult to understand, probably should not vote at all.
