No, he's NOT an actor: The outspoken blue collar "star" of our 500K+ view viral video has a NEW message for anti-pipeline protesters

Christopher WilsonRebel Commentator

Our Vancouver team’s interview with oil worker Bernard Hancock at a Kinder Morgan protest went viral, to the tune of over half a million YouTube views.

His articulate and passionate defence of Canada’s oil and gas industry struck a chord, so we caught up with him to find out what kind of feedback he's received.

(PS: This is only a SNEAK PREVIEW of a full interview with Bernard we'll bring you later this week...)

In addition to hearing from appreciative viewers, Bernard also heard from some haters who didn’t believe he was real.

Check out his highly amusing message for the haters and his inspiring message for fans and fellow oil patch workers.

Go to BernardTheRoughNeck.ca for the entire story, including the original interview that made him a "star"!

John Harp, pull your head outta JTs ass and look around.People need jobs and Quebec needs their allowance. The oil patch has to be developed.Windmills and Sunni ways just wont cut it.

Well said right on the money
commented 2016-02-22 17:10:42 -0500
Well then John Harp, you will need to shut down, forestry, mining and hydroelectric development if you want zero impact on the old (Boreal) forest. In Alberta The hydroelectric projects are mostly in the southern part of the province but Manitoba, Ontario and Quebec hydroelectric projects impact their part of the Boreal forest as well. I know, just put up more wind turbines.

I think you are correct in the last part of your statement. The demise of Canadian oil is an agenda driven foreign affair.

I live in up here. We already have lots of pipelines…we already transport HUGE amounts of oil, we don’t need MORE pipelines. What we need is a sustainable development plan for the oil sands and area. So we don’t have this boom and bust crap. How many times will we all fall for the same trick. This guy is missing one VERY important point about the oil sands. It happens to be hacking down the oldest forest on the planet at alarming rate,at the same time polluting our backyard. A job is a roof and food, we don’t need to be JUST consumers to live on this planet. We can support ourselves, that’s whats really being lost. Seeing a so called blue collar promote for the billionaires and for the destruction of our planet. This guy is a fool, and I’ve never seen his clown hair around town. You have to be able to see through this…I spent 4 years working on the patch. Its a patch from hell, most people i know and meet up here hate what’s was going on. Truly eye opening to see the destruction. We all need money though and its easy to be a fool. Canada should be looking for the hope of happy life some other way.. After all the oil will only last a a few generations…..then what?……………………………. If you answer I’ll be dead, then you are a worthless selfless human my friend. Also why set ourselves up to be even more reliant on black gold when we are at the mercy of geo politics. Sitting on the worlds third largest oil reserves with no military……You people really think WE are making policy, don’t be so naive,

I would like to see Bernard confront some of these protesters . He surely does have their number.

Anyone who has worked in the patch has worked side by side with people from all over the country.

Bernard is from Vancouver but attended university in Quebec and he has deep connections with French-Canadians who decided to join him in Northern Alberta works the rigs. He actually knows so much about this country west to east and back again. He has taught me a lot about the industry in my time talking with him this week.
commented 2016-02-21 12:51:56 -0500
How do you know Bernard isn’t from the east? Maybe he’s from New Brunswick or grew up in Montreal. Would you love him any less?

How can you blame a sports team for the arse butt mayor Montreal has at the moment? By that logic, even a Flames cap is verboten now.

Bernard, change your hat to someone in the west.

Great guy, oh, how I wish we had politicians, so-called professors, teachers, civil servants articulate as well as this young man does. Great listening to someone out there who makes perfect sense unlike the insane ndp and leberals running our beautiful country to the ground. I still can’t believe I live in an ndp province, idiot voters.

What? They run out of Flames or Canucks hats? Isn’t Montreal the place with he Mayor who hates pipeline workers? Why patronize his teams?

Actor? I AM CANADIAN! I dont act it! I AM! Wow! Begs the Question? Whom are the daft that cannot see The true Canadian Bernard is? Sir, I believe that Bernard is a great example of what it means to be Canadian, salt of the earth. Elitists have forgotten What it is to have Integrity in their own thoughts and actions but not the rest of us! I like Honest! Thanks for finding this Great Canadian Actor Ezra! Hopefully the Man will get an Oscar or something Good! After all Bernard “acts like the salt”…

This guy is great! I’d like to see and hear more from him, Ezra.
Very articulate and on point, thanks Bernard.

I’m thinking this gentleman (and he is a gentleman) should put his thoughts down in a written contribution to this website.. We need more people like him who can put words together that have honest and sincere meaning. He and men and women like him are true heroes of Canada and deserve rich praise indeed.

Thanks Bernard, you are right on the mark.
commented 2016-02-20 20:28:17 -0500
Maybe we could start using that “wealth privilege” term to address all of these over pandered, pipeline protesters.
EZRA/Brian, start asking these people what they do for a living, and call them the “wealth privileged”, who think they are better than everyone else, because of their wealth.

Canada used to be Bernard. Canada isn’t half the man it used to be.

The secession card has been played by quebec for the last 50 years. Its time to take a page from their playbook and start a separatist West Canada movement. NW Ontario would quickly merge with Manitoba and let S. Ontario and Quebec freeze in the dark. Enough is enough.
commented 2016-02-20 19:10:47 -0500
As I said when I watched his first interview…very articulate, empathetic young man. Bernard, your words speak volumes. Keep bringing him on The Rebel. Who cares about his hair? Not me. I grew up in the 50s/60s and I’ve heard all the complaints about hair. It’s not what on the head that matters, but rather what’s in the head.

Unless you are in the oil patch you wont understand. Hell yah brother, this guy for PM period. And to all you leeches living off our backs, your time will soon end in the next election.

Hey, that’s racist to criticize the Guys Base Ball Cap, the Kermits will get mad.
commented 2016-02-20 18:25:26 -0500
FYI, there are conservatives in every province. Wynne’s politics suck, not everyone in Ontario loves her, Quebec is run by elitists, always has been, but that is not to say there aren’t great Quebeckers, and on for any other province you want to dis. The oil and gas industry is comprised of Canadians from across the country.

Nice ball cap Bernard.

No complaint, love you for who you are Bernard.
