Norway couple’s five children seized -- Here’s why Canadian parents should be worried

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

A Norway couple have had their five children taken away because all forms of corporal punishment were banned in that country.

I explain why this should serve as a warning for us in Canada related to Trudeau’s pledge to follow through on all recommendations that come out of the Truth and Reconciliation Committee Report.

The fact is, spanking and abuse are two different things.

We need to make sure children are protected but we also need to make sure that we aren’t turning families against each other and that we aren’t turning parents into criminals.

Harris gave Societies unbelievable power, but required that the workers be registered with the College of Social Workers. McGuinty revoked that requirement, leading to the un-checked power. Several bills to give the Ombudsman oversight have been quashed by the Liberals in Ontario. Wynne goes on about there being oversight, but in truth, there is none.

@geoff MEEK, I believe you are correct. The Supreme Court ruled that Societies have no “duty of care” towards parents. Therefore, Canadians, you have no parental rights in law, NONE.

MPPs do nothing about this, I have tried. They give platitudes, etc. I believe they are scared to be labeled something. Knowing what I know, and feeling a fraction of my friend’s anguish, I cannot understand how Canada has allowed this to happen. People have no idea how much power a Society has, until they encounter it.

Innocent people, through no fault of their own, anonymous tip (later found out to be revenge because tipster made a mistake and revealed themselves), dragged through the mud, then “cleared”, but remain on a government database FOREVER. No way to clear their name entirely.

My Momma was a tiny little thing who had four big boys. So she used a yardstick on our corrective area. Sure we hated it- you’d have to be a masochist not to. But we learned to obey (a word the lefties hate) and we turned into productive members of society. Dad was 6’2’ and so he was very careful about spanking us as kids because he was afraid of doing damage. Usually it was a quick swat on the butt to let you know it could get worse if you didnt smarten up. We usually did.

We sons have rarely spanked your own children but then they aren’t rambunctious boys- mostly girls. In today’s world my Mom would be hauled off to court and her kids taken away to foster homes. That is where we would really learn about love and care. Mom just turned 90 and we love her dearly. Thanks for the corrective action, Mom.

Everywhere you turn today, everywhere you look, there’s ‘the government’ taking another right, another protection, another piece of your pie and even your claim to your own life and your own family.
Why do we allow all that?

Don’t you understand that Muslims are above the law?
After all, it is their culture and women are no better than dogs, are they not?
Muslim men feel that everything revolves around their “man hoods or balls” and this allows them to do anything they wish. Beat your wife, beat your kids, kill the infidels and destroy avert thing around you if you are a Muslim male. Allah says this is right.

So it’s “abusive” to discipline a child by spanking now, and their kids get taken away. What about the Muslims beating on their wives, and other Sharia family beatings? They get to keep their kids, then when the girls grow up or the wives step out of line, honour killings.

Taking kids away from their parents is much, much more abusive that spanking.

Of course, it’s not really about saving kids from abuse. It’s all about breaking parental authority.

Another internet tough guy…….lol.

Maybe you should take a look at your life and realize that was not your fault. So why do you continue the anger?

Even though the laws permits spanking, I know for a fact, that CAS agencies accost parents for spanking (defined within the legal definition). Nobody has 40k to hire good lawyers, therefore they submit. Family court is based on the historical French court system, guilty until proven innocent.

I know of two cases. How the case workers gets the around the provisions in the law, is by saying spanking does not work, and continue to hold the “investigation” open until they are satisfied it has stopped. They continually interview the children to determine if it has stopped.

In one of these cases, the initial anonymous allegation was not even about spanking! This was a huge family, and for five minutes, they left a 9 year old at a store by mistake, they were back almost immediately. The store keeper called CAS on them, or cops (who then called CAS).

Ahhh, but beating your kids if they do not pray and your wife if she does not obey is acceptable as per sharia law. The religion of bits and pieces says so.

Beating your kids is wrong, but apprehending the kids is overkill.

Ken Hanson-thanks for that. You understand you deserved it and at the same time you understand that your own kids don’t. Some need it and some don’t.

Robert Raymond – thanks for laughs! It’s sad that both comments rang true.

See what happens without proper discipline?
You get Trudeaus, father (yellow belly) and son (Mohamed)!

It really is no ones ‘s business how anyone else raises or disciplines their children, provided of course actual abuse isn’t taking place. My parents were really hard on me, hard enough that they would have been convicted of abusing me by today’s standards. I thank them for that every time I look at my wonderful life, you see I was a rotten kid and needed a regular ass kicking to keep me on track. I have rarely ever spanked my children or even had to discipline them because they are really well behaved by nature. Remember it takes a family to raise a child and a village to really mess a kid up. Mind your business, not your neighbors.

Ignorance of the law is no excuse.

For the very limited definition of allowable “spanking” under Canadian law, and the science and facts in this matter, please see www.keep43.ca
Considering that 82% of Cdn parents with preteen children (2012 poll, IGR) use some forms of constructive physical discipline, this is an issue that deserves more than myth and deception my the popular media, so I’m glad Brian Lilley mentioned it.

i used to get beaten till i was black and fucking blue and get slapped around till my nose bled by both my parents, i got sent to a mental institution for kids when i was 12 and put on psychiatric medication, i got bullied regularly in school ending up in many fights up against multiple attackers, and i got blamed for it all. this happened to me on a regular basis. needless to say i hate everybody’s guts and will have little use for anybody, I would say I turned out perfectly normal. put it this way if anybody lips me off i will beat the fuck out of them so bad they end up in a hospital. this way they don’t fuck with me again. i learned this the hard way from the people around me and now they run scared like fucking cowards.

Permissive parenting has produced an epidemic of Attention-Deficit Disorder.

I wonder if any of these “anti-spanking activists” are part of the pro-choice movement? I guess it may be just fine to murder your kids but spanking them is somehow a more egregious offence. If more parents spanked I bet we would have had far less stupid millennial brats crying over safe spaces and trigger warnings. I have an idea “anti-spanking activists,” why don’t you turn your attention to all the children being murdered by ISIS, and to those being sold into slavery in countries like Africa and India.
commented 2016-04-19 18:22:42 -0400
Children need to disciplined and without discipline they turn into unruly brats. Don’t discipline your children in public. There is always some do-gooder waiting to stick their noses in where they don’t belong. Sometimes physical discipline is the only thing that works. The state needs to mind their own business and back way off. There is a difference between discipline and abuse. Those that have never raised children should stay out of it, since they have no idea, and no experience raising children.

When my daughter was 13, the school was handing out the hotline for child abuse, and encouraging the children to call. Just call and someone will swoop in and make it all better for you. Something happened but I can’t recall what it was now, but she threatened to call the hotline on me. I told her that the teachers, no matter how well intentioned, were not her parents, and never would be. I also told her that if she ever called that number, and social services were to come out and take her from our home, that I don’t think that I would ever be able to fight for her and get her back, because I don’t have the money to fight them. I told her that she would be placed in foster care, and that she would likely face unwanted sexual advances from some pervert foster parent, or one of their kids, and would likely end up running away. She never brought it up again, and she never called them either, because she knew that she had it pretty damned good where she was already!

Someone should spank the stupidity out of TruDope before he totally destroys Canada. Obviously that idiot has never had a spanking.
