Notley NDP’s "race based" carbon tax? Aboriginal band owned companies EXEMPT

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

A new report from the Calgary Herald reveals that the NDP are exempting farms and Aboriginal bands and individuals from their new carbon tax.

The report also revealed that 109 large carbon emitters who already pay the Alberta carbon levy will be exempt from the carbon tax. These are the oilsands companies who stood on a podium with Rachel Notley on the day the carbon tax was announced. They were there to advocate a tax for us they knew they’d never have to pay.

If the main goal of the carbon tax is saving the planet from the deadly effects of C02, then why are the NDP exempting anyone? This just makes it clear that the carbon tax is about a wealth transfer and not about mother nature.

There is another huge problem created by the exemptions the NDP are granting. Exempting band owned companies from a carbon tax means they start off with an advantage their competitors don’t have. Band owned companies will never have to factor the cost of the carbon tax into the goods they produce or the services they provide, placing them at a competitive advantage.

Just when I thought the NDP’s carbon tax couldn’t get more ridiculous, they’ve gone and made it race based. How about we scrap the whole tax instead of dividing the business community based on ethnicity?

Native bands companies are exempt from a carbon tax.
Of course they are ! They’re exempt from all other taxes as well if their business is headquartered on the reserve . Notley is just firming up her voting base which is unions, the public civil service ,university students and the natives. A logical assumption is the NDP will be destroyed next election but will survive because of the pandering to their base.

Indians are exempt?

I thought they were the keepers of the environment?

All they are after is the money.

Welfare trash taking advantage of their skin colour – while their corrupt leadership marches off to the bank.

Kelvin said, “Peter, reorient your map, lol”

Doh! That’s funny! Thanks for pointing that out.

Notley is at war with Alberta.

Eradicate the enemy of Alberta.

I guess climate change takes a back seat to race politics and votes as Ms. Notley puts on her
“good witch” face.

Have you marked your catcher’s mitt THE NOTLEY yet?…

Kelvin, it is just a matter of time before aboriginals butt heads with muslims.

Hmmm enviromental aparteid, didn’t see this one coming.

…and the hits just keep on coming.

PT Phillips, who doesn’t know natives don’t pay income tax?
commented 2016-03-24 23:16:40 -0400
P.T. Phillips, Rachel Notley can’t control the Federal tax regime. And GST is federal.

Maybe native people have 15to20 % less carbon in their bodies then white peoples do .—- so …. Maybe it’s ok then .
commented 2016-03-24 22:14:37 -0400
I’m disappointed in you Sheila. At least have the courage to inform the viewers that the employees of the band based businesses, with a few exception, pay no income tax or GST. They receive, but don’t contribute. Your attempt to not appear racist only serves to discredit your credibility. One Canada. One Canadian.

The NDP and the Liberals both, are not shy about showing their Mental Disorder.

However, how many Nations based entrepreneurs really want that break? Don’t get me wrong, any businessman will take any break they can get these days because there are not many. Yet, I think the Nations businessmen like the thought they competed and won on merit…not winning by racist, low information socialist handouts. There is that pride of accomplishment by merit that privileged white socialists don’t get…they really need to check their white privilege.

Peter, reorient your map, lol

Terry Rogers, as beautiful as BC is, I would rather head West to Saskatchewan. Too expensive out there.

Geez. Check out Ol’ Raiche’s chin. Cut herself a few times with her razor this morning.
Glad she’s shavin’ though…if she didn’t she’d be a dead ringer for Festus on Gunsmoke.
commented 2016-03-24 20:40:44 -0400
Come on over to BC, where we enjoy a true revenue neutral non-racist carbon tax.
commented 2016-03-24 20:38:10 -0400
Ever notice that all these laws nowadays have this divisive nature to them ? Do you suppose that it will all come to a head one day and bite them in the backside? Or is it a ploy to have one group dominate the other, which I guess will ultimately bite them in the backside. Any way you look at it somebody’s backside will be sore.
commented 2016-03-24 20:35:27 -0400
Perhaps companies will hire a First Nations member as a figurehead just to get the tax break.
commented 2016-03-24 20:30:44 -0400
This sort of preferential treatment only increases racism.
commented 2016-03-24 20:14:21 -0400
Sheila, good job as usual. You should be the AB premier, under your leadership, the oil companies would weather the oil price storm & many people would still have their jobs. I digress of course but makes a whole bunch of sense. As for aboriginals, happy to see these bands doing so well, but being given preferential treatment over other small & sometimes struggling businesses is downright wrong. We all know carbon tax has nothing whatsoever to do with the climate, it’s actually dumb & stupid to even think that, how is paying a tax going to change anything about fake global warming. How can people let themselves be rooked by such hypocrisy?
