Notley’s low approval rating brings “glimmer of hope” for “clear-headed” Albertans

Rebel Staff

Some days it seems like all we get is bad news in Alberta. More debt, new taxes, high unemployment, the government suing itself. Everyday it’s something. But today, I am pleased to bring you a glimmer of hope.

Rachel Notley’s disapproval rating is at 37%. That’s good news. Dislike Rachel Notley? Congratulations, my friend. You are a normal, red blooded, clear headed Albertan.

But there is more to this story. Rachel Notley is on the same trajectory as disgraced former premier Alison Redford.

When Alison Redford took power, she had a 55% approval rating. Rachel Notley, in June 2015, had a 53% approval. Close enough. Alison Redford saw a steady decline, the same decline Rachel Notley has been on for over a year.

By January 2014, Alison Redford’s approval plummeted to 35%. Three months later, after yet another spending scandal, Redford’s approval rating was a rock bottom 18%. She then resigned in well deserved shame.

What’s my point? At 37%, Rachel Notley is really just one good scandal away from Alison Redford territory. Now, I don’t think Notley would do the right thing and resign like big Red because I don’t think she is as ethical as Redford. I know, that’s not saying much.

But stay hopeful. If we learned anything from the PCs and their wild ride to the bottom, Rachel Notley will drag her party down with her, just like Redford did.

And the NDP will be obliterated in the next election, just like the PCs were.

Equality in Canada. Seems female politicians can be just as corrupt as their male counterparts………..!

37% support Notley….seriously? If true, that means that more than 1 in 3 Albertans are brain-damaged or illiterate. That’s bad.

Brian Pinske: Amen brother. But let’s face it. Libertarian Party will never be more than a blip on the political landscape because they don’t have the financial or political clout to make a difference.

NDP Sucks: I don’t view outright communism as much of a threat as compared to the insidiousness of cultural Marxism and critical theory that is already firmly entrenched in this country. Communism would be a logical extension of that, I suppose. My anger simmers at a lower level than yours, bordering more on a feeling of resignation. I have to keep my tongue in check because if I continue preaching to friends and family who don’t believe me, or don’t want to listen, I run the risk of alienating them altogether.

Stop voting in ANY of the three corrupt to the core political parties. There are essentially all the same, greedy, corrupt and power hungry.
Time for a REAL change. Vote Libertarian next time.

Alfredo Marinara.

Hi Alfy. I bash Andy because he is a pathetic little dupe who produces weak and flawed comments to incite a response so I gave him one. Notley will lose the next election and that is almost certain. However, I would like to see the NDP destroyed, tarred and feathered, put on the road out of Alberta. Some people like me hate communism. How about your Alfy?

Anyone from Ontario who is upset with the current state of affairs there and is thinking of voting for another party in the next provincial (or federal) election should look to Alberta for a woeful example of how not to cast your ballot.
commented 2016-08-06 15:30:07 -0400
Wow…37% is still way too high considering the damage she’s directly responsible for and sure to continue causing! If that doesn’t change soon, Alberta is in big trouble…
commented 2016-08-06 14:25:56 -0400
I hope they find cure for socialism soon because this is one sick dog.
commented 2016-08-06 13:16:04 -0400
I am surprised there are that many that still approve of her – time to clean out the back closets and move those bastards to Toronto.

37% ?! Surely you jest! I swear that Peterson’s Law is holding true: The sum of intelligence in the world is a constant. Only the population is increasing. How else can this be explained?

I guess the Ernest Manning adage also holds true: If the people haven’t suffered enough it is their God-given right to suffer some more. And I thought Manitobans were gluttons for punishment.

NDP Sucks: Why bash Stephenson? The prediction is not out of the realm of possibility. Many formerly disgruntled PC voters in Alberta may warm to Kenney. You can only hope that the left-leaning vote is split between the NDP and Liberals to level the playing field.

Andy Stephenson

Thanks for the prediction Andy but as usual you are full of shit. You must be from Ontario to be pumping that much crap so early in the morning. Stay out of Alberta politics Andy and concentrate on what you know best, whatever the fuck that is. Split the Wildrose vote, yeah right. Very weak attempt from a little muffin.

Kathleen Wynne’s was about 22% and she was handily re=elected.

It will happen in Alberta as well, especially if Kenney turns the PCs to the right and splits the Wildrose vote, leaving the centrists with nobody to vote for but the NDP.

The only people that approve of Notley’s attack on AB, are those who are pocketing our money, and that would be the unions, the MSM, and the legal system. She should be hung for treason. She reminds me of a teen ager who doesn’t want to hear reason, but stamps her feet like a sullen child, and does whatever to have her way. What really disgusts me is the MSM and their blatant lies and deceptions to the public, covering for this traitor to democracy. I can’t stand listening to the constant communist adds on the radio and TV anymore. I do my best to avoid any agency that works for Notley and her Destroyers! And any company that is bowing down to her insanity.

Sheila says that In June 2015, Notley had a 53% approval rate which meant that 47% disapproved. Today, Sheila says Notley has a 37% disapproval rate, which means that 63% approve of her. Somewhere Sheila got the approval & disapproval rates mixed up. After reading the posts, just about everyone here is confused as well & I was right in my first post after all, because the disapproval rate I was referring to was the 37% that Sheila quoted, therefore indicating 63% still approved of her
I believe Sheila meant 37% approval & that’s where the good news comes in.
commented 2016-08-06 02:18:17 -0400
Peter….it was neither, I was so excited with her disapproval rate that I got my numbers mixed up. I am hoping she will end up with zero approval.
commented 2016-08-06 01:19:14 -0400
37% ?
Really?
That high?
Who the hell approves of her?

Of all the people I know, every damn one, openly admits to counting the days until she is done.

BTW. With all the downsizing and layoffs in Alberta. Can anyone tell me how many civil service positions have been cut ?

Notley is the worst. Best example of how to be a bad politician. Will be glad to see her gone.
commented 2016-08-05 23:18:38 -0400
Notley knew on the day she took office that she had no chance of getting a second term and that hasn’t changed. So, she is free to trash Alberta all she wants without ever worrying about re-election.
commented 2016-08-05 23:18:03 -0400
If her disapproval rating is at 37% does that mean 63% like her?
commented 2016-08-05 22:54:32 -0400
Nutley & her crew of pirate Libtards need to all be charged with Crominal Neglegence! & Fraud.
commented 2016-08-05 22:43:50 -0400
She is the worst Premier of Alberta, next to greedy Redford.
commented 2016-08-05 22:43:41 -0400
Yvette, is that support for Notley or sarcasm?
commented 2016-08-05 22:03:55 -0400
Good news Sheila, but her ratings should be at 100%. Where are the other 63%, oh I forgot, they’re trying to wriggle their head out of their butt.
commented 2016-08-05 22:03:33 -0400
There is NO BLOODY WAY that this evil, garbage nutley’s approval rating is at 37%, no bloody way. Red deadmonton is the only place that is higher because all the parasite civil and union friends are in that stupid city.
commented 2016-08-05 21:55:50 -0400
I can’t believe her rating is that high. That has to be in Edmonton!
commented 2016-08-05 21:37:30 -0400
37% ?? , where was this survey taken , Edmonton?
Who did the survey?
commented 2016-08-05 21:29:41 -0400
Errata: “…the support for the Non-Democratic Party continues TO DIMINISH,…”

God forbid their support continuing.
commented 2016-08-05 21:27:13 -0400
I can’t believe how badly the Pc party fucked up alberta. Vote wildrose unite the right and get alberta back on track. Don’t get sucked in by Jason Kenney and his new muddying of the waters…
