On pipelines, it’s all about climate change: Trudeau won’t seek balance between environment and economy

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

When it comes to pipelines and politics, anyone listening to Justin Trudeau and left-leaning politicians like Denis Coderre would have you believe that the previous government lacked balance when it came to the environment and the economy.

I point out that the facts don’t bear that out and if anyone is pursuing an out of balance agenda, it’s the Liberals who are only too happy to sacrifice our economy by standing in the way of the safe development and transport of our natural resources.

And more will come as Justin Trudeau prepares the ground for putting a “price on carbon”. As we learned from his Ministerial mandate letters, this government is clearly preoccupied with “climate change”

This divisiveness is being pushed along east/west, political/ business lines. The pipeline and oil producers in the west, versus the rail and ship companies in the east,( CN and Canada Steamship). Pipelines with multiple redundancy safety measures to avoid and contain any spill, while hundreds of rail cars a day carrying 130,000 litres of oil each rumble down old tracks over wetlands, over rivers and through towns, and ships loaded with millions of litres of oil churn up the St. Lawrence river.

None of this has anything to do with so called “Climate Change”! This is all about neutering and impoverishing what was a rising political power in Western Canada!

The assigning of impacts out of their phase is fundamentally flawed. there already exists, and ever evolving, is an LCA or life cycle analysis… it’s the only practical way because anything else will rely purely on guess work. For example, in gas, there is extraction (approx 8%), transport to refinery (maybe 1%), refining (about 10%), transportation to end user (let’s say 1%), and the consumption (~80%).. of course every case will be a little different, but can be calculated accurately… what is proposed is like assuming that gas will be used to fuel cars (80%)… and assigning this to "transporting to refinery, the pipeline).. the 1% becomes 81% and no account is attributed to the burning or consuming of the gas (where the vast majority of the emissions are generated… the 80% becomes 0%).. very flawed…. and still, what if the oil was being used to make polyol and MDI which are the ingredients to make industrial insulation??? Who would know? This industrial insulation, over its life, could same hundreds of thousands of tons of CO2 during it’s life-cycle…. and there would be no account for this as a genetic 80% would already have been applied to the pipeline…. I could go on and on, but in summary, this proposal is bat-sh*t stupid, flawed, inaccurate and an accounting nightmare… it actually could lend incentive to higher end-usage.

It’s a f***ing pipeline, not a train! And this mandate give the government carte blanche to add the same tax onto every phase of production and transport. A recipe for economic disaster since powerhouses like the US, as leftist as their admin is, is only partially insane, unlike our own administration.

Peter Netterville – I’m hoping that some will see the light before it’s too late. I guess they don’t realize that they will be stabbed and beheaded, and gang raped too.

Does anyone not see that the invasion in Germany and Canada are intentional. The UN’s goal is to destroy capitalism and wealth before they release their animals on us.

Hasn’t… uh… Justin Trudeau… uh… figured out that… uh… the election is over and… uh… that he can stop… uh… running for office? And when… uh… will he be able to… uh… make a sentence without a “uh” in it?

Our PM who can only best a glass of water in conversation.

The scenario,
1. Tax the total CO2 component at the oil field
2 Tax the total CO2 component in the pipeline
3 Tax the total CO2 component at the refinery
4 Tax the total C)2 component in the distribution of the product
5 Tax the total CO3 of the end user
and that will still not be enough tax revenue for the leftist hogs.

If Albertans are thinking that a Republican win in the USA election come November of this year will at least get the Keystone Pipeline built, they should think again. The Liberals are restructuring the NEB and defining new parameters: for participation, for the time allotted to hearings and for the inclusion of more environmental issues. Keystone will be delayed until the new NEB is in place, delayed until everyone opposed to the project is heard and in the end denied because it will lead to further development of the oil sands and have a negative impact in the environment.

So much for an end to the so-called politics of division. As per usual, the Liberals appear to enjoy creating division within the Dominion.

Good point George Dyer re Bombardier and also the Iranian jets.

The Liberal hypocrisy is thicker than bitumen and far more dangerous.

Right on Father the west must go it alone to get out from the corrupt socialist east. Let them live in squalor and poverty.

Yes, it’s time to end the Frankenstein’s monster called Canada. Long live Western Canada!
commented 2016-01-27 14:37:32 -0500
Well, with the east trying to continue milking the west while also trying to destroy the western economy. Maybe it is time for the west to rid themselves of this Pot-Smoking Albatross to Canada by considering succeeding from the corrupt Prime Miscreant of Canada and his ignorant minions of Satan! In this way we could take care of the environment in a logical fashion while still having a vibrant and profitable economy. The Liberal history since the founding of Canada has always been to take form the west to the profit of the east. Enough is enough! Time to let the east starve by itself.

I for one am so irate about governments that use the absolute hoax of first using global warming and when that didn’t pan out climate change to justify the destruction of Alberta. We as a country account for only 1.5% of emissions of carbon dioxide which if the truth be told is helping plant growth. Why are chasing a false agenda of pixie dust and unicorns?

Deborah, I really don’t think the Liberal party nor the Federal Liberal Caucus are in the slightest bit interested in recognizing the dangerous fool they are backing so long as they are in power and feeding at the trough. I have virtually no confidence in the moral character of any in the Liberal party to somehow stem the tide of destruction done by PM “puppet master” Butts and figurehead PM "puppet " Trudeau so long as they can line their pockets with out money.
commented 2016-01-27 14:12:32 -0500
All we can hope for is that some of his cabinet realize what a dangerous fool that they are backing. Maybe some will come to there senses and give him a vote of non-confidence, and take these criminals out.

JUSTIN’S DIARY that’s funny!

The narcissistic criminal party of Canada, never fails to show the shallowness of their characters.

Will Trudeau therefore attempt to be consistent and refuse financial aid to Bombardier and block the sale of a large fleet of their jets to Iran based on the downstream volume of greenhouse gas that the jet’s engines will emit?

yup…another ‘pay more , get less’ scam. your trends are showing…

Dear Diary;
I don’t know what’s worse. Tommy yapping at my heels, or Rona constantly trying to drag common sense into everything. She went on and on about too many selfies (how could there be such a thing) and supporting pipelines or something. I told her straight to her face, through the speaker, that already I’ve done more since I swore in than Stevie did in nine years, and if no one believes me, they just have look over my report card, which is shown on TheRebel from time to time.
I had to drop in on blabbermouth Coderre the other day to calm him down and teach him a thing or two. Look, I said, I know we don’t care one way or the other about pipelines, but you have to appear to support them, but do it passively. That way you still get the votes of pipeline supporters. Let the N.E.B. do their thing, have an environmental assessment, let the project get approved, it’s okay because Gerald invented something called a Social Licence. I don’t know how much it costs to buy one, but the idea is that we use it right at the end of the process to kill the project. I get to keep my Indian votes too, and everyone’s happy.
Gerald has given Stephie Dion the official government okay-dokey to go ahead and announce that we’re taking the spearheading lead in following B.O. and the Europeans and some other countries and lifting our hard-hitting sanctions against Iran. This is what Sacha and U.N. told me to do so that Iran will get a bucket-load of money so they might not get nuclear weapons, and maybe they’ll stop giving money to terrorists, and there was something else, something about Israel, I think. Now I’d like to hear U.S. Defense Secretary Carter try telling Gerald and me that we’re not pulling our weights. Just don’t mention anything to anyone about a timeline Stephie, you and McCallum keep getting me in trouble with those things.
So, it was TheRebel that spilled the beans about Sophie’s video. Oh well, at least it wasn’t reported by David (the menzoid) Menzies. That would have been just too freaky, even for me.
