Entitlement culture behind bars: Prisoners now demand designer clothing, menu vetoes

Andrew LawtonRebel Commentator

This generation’s entitlement culture has extended to its prisoners.

From convicted criminals demanding the right to wear designer clothes behind bars to espionage convict Chelsea “The Spy Formerly Known As Bradley” Manning complaining in a column about having to spend time in solitary, prisoners and those who embrace the hug-a-thug mentality forget that some privileges are surrendered when a crime is committed.

Fundamental rights like life and liberty do not include unqualified privileges like clothing and menu vetoes.

Here’s your pink underwear, here’s the gear you need to make a lean to, here’s your flint and steel and cooking pot, and here’s your steel cut cereal.

We’ll be a few hundred yards away on four sides of you, watching you through rifle scopes, and we’ll call names as people’s release dates come up.

If you don’t like it, fuck you.

You cannot have prisoners do public service work. That would deprive public sector union workers of their entitlements.

Great punch line at the end of the video. I am going to remember that one.

I agree with Fraser, bring back the chain gangs, and make them earn their keep.

Excellent! Always nice to hear you Andrew. You are intelligent, excellent communicator and you have a wonderful voice – easy to listen to.
You covered all the basis, especially about seniors. I wonder if poor little Chelsea, a master manipulator who will obviously go to extremes to control and manipulate (I.e. sex change) ever wonders about the little old women or men who never see anyone, has no one to talk to and live in the dark because they can’t afford the cost of electricity let alone food. (High level of suicide with transgenders; he is an example, plus he is simply trying to get attention.)
Somebody, please, call the Wambulance for these poor, deprived criminals. Exchange their lives for the lonely seniors and they’ll really know what solitary confinement and loneliness is all about.

Andrew; I’d suggest that rehabilitation and punishment are only two of four reasons for imprisonment. The other two being a deterrent to others and vengeance for the victim.

Andrew: Great job! Have listened to all your podcasts, but it is even more enjoyable to see you “live” in person. Hope to see you on these Rebel videos on a regular basis. P.S. You are looking great, by the way.
