Pro-Thatcher? Anti-union? Old video clips raise questions about the real Tom Mulcair

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

You can be forgiven for not being sure who NDP Leader Tom Mulcair is. It seems he doesn't know, either.

A pair of videos have surfaced over the past week showing the leader of Canada's socialist party staking out positions much closer to the Conservative Party than the NDP.

The videos date back to Mulcair's time in Quebec's provincial legislature but they do raise questions about the would be prime minister's left wing credentials.

Thomas Mulcair wants to be PM, but he holds dual citizenship.

The only poll that matters is on election day. All pre-election polls do is provide the MSM a stick to keep beating the public with.

I notice in pretty much every poll the NDP are ahead by around 4 to 6 points. A Forum Research poll today has the NDP ahead of the Conservatives by 17 points and the Liberals ahead of the Conservatives by 7 points. In some instances the Conservatives poll 3rd. In the odd instance when the Conservatives poll in 1st it’s by about 1 to 2 points.
Could someone please explain to me what it is that Stephen Harper and the Conservative party did to raise such ire from the Canadian people. When I do a search all I seem to find is anti Harper vitriol with no logic or substance.
Or have the Canadian people taken a stupid pill like Alberta did in the last provincial election?

A vote for the NDP is the destruction of Canada, look what the Liberals have done in Ontario and the NDP in Alberta, if you still do not see it then I am afraid this country is in for one hell of downward spiral. I did not think that there were that many wealthy people in Canada, because the poor or middle class will never survive the destruction of the economy. Maybe that is the strategy of the wealthy NDP and Liberals, the destruction of those very classes in order for the wealthy to survive. Something to remember, all socialist governments throughout history have not survived, the future generations are the ones that struggled to survive while the wealthy are well, still wealthy, just look at Greece. I am truly terrified what will happen to this great country if Mulcair gets in, if you think unions have influence with them now, just wait, the unions will be using Mulcair as a marionette.

Mad Tom has become Happy Tom and a Friend to all small business. hahahaha Justin has found a new Mommy and they both want to save the Children and Canada. hahaha The CBC—loves them both. They ALL want to raise taxes ,just not on the middle class—which none of them can define. - Start gently with a small ‘strap-on’—- just so you can used to being reamed ‘BIG-TIME’.

OR—- You could vote for Harper— and not even have to learn Arabic.

In my riding, which is traditionally Conservative, our long-time popular MP, Barry Devolin, is retiring. Our Conservative candidate, Jamie Schmale, whose major political credential is that he was Barry’s assistant for ten years, is nowhere near as impressive as the candidate the NDP is running.

Just look at the CV of our local NDP candidate- you’d swear he was Conservative. http://mikeperry.ndp.ca/about

Add to that that Mike has been campaigning for months, is really friendly and outgoing – he attended MP Barry Devolin’s retirement party, I couldn’t believe it – and posts on social media photos of him with businesses, families, services in our riding almost daily. Even on Barry’s website, there is a group photo of Barry’s inner circle and Mike is in it. And Mike always speaks highly of Barry.

I think our riding could vote NDP.

Nothing new here. Tommy is just another sad politician of convenience in a large and smelly herd that has no shortage of representatives from all parties. Hard not to think of Groucho’s quip: “Those are my principles, and if you don’t like them, well, I have others”.

This has been out for a few days now, and I don’t expect we will see any questioning from the press on this subject…or comments from Harper or Tinkerbell, for that matter.

With the conservative like spin, this could be video released by the enn-dee-pee. Who else would know what was said and when it was said other than nazi pig no-cair himself????

no-cair needs more than the socialist vote – so if no-cair can be a convincing enough liar, he may be able to pull troodo’s voters – doubtful nazi no-cair can take votes from Harper’s Conservatives.

All comes down to the majority of voters – let the nazi’s run the country and you get a 25% HST and a whole bunch of useless crap like national day care – it’s that simple. But the 25% HST comes first with the nazi’s like troodo and no-cair.

Joan Abernethy, I really like your well thought out comments – In Edmonton there are definitely strong ties for some NDP candidates and the anti free speech party Marxist Leninist. As a long time NDP supporter (and still a strong supporter) I never understood why Edmonton/ Strathcona’s NDP Linda Duncan took to the podium and open mike supplied by Edmonton’s Communists during anti C51 protests.

But after May 19, 2015 when Duncan discriminated me for being non Muslim, throwing me out of a public meeting I was originally invited to by the organizers. Duncan accused me of being a threat to Muslim Women in the room so now I see the RED apple does not fall far from the tree when it comes to certain NDP MPs stifling freedoms and equality of white male, non Muslims.

To be fair to the rest of the NDP I know of several NDP candidates from Edmonton who would never be a party to an anti HARPER rally or protest organized by the ANTI FREE SPEECH Communists.

YouTube Reds disrupt freedom of speech and freedom of the press during anti Harper/Trudeau C51 anti terror bill. https://youtu.be/0IBaAy1xm1I

Life cycle evolution of a lefty….
1. Political awakening… heavily influenced by union card carrying teachers / professors, a rebellious period, naive and idealistic.. Think of a late teen who knows everything, has uncertainties of their place in society and just want love and peace. Very few remain in this phase for life.
2. Gets a job / has children, matures… Realization of the foolishness and unattainability of a lefty utopia… This generally happens in the mid to late 20’s.. however, there are late bloomers. Some unwilling to address reality, take up causes and become activists and do not leave behind their naive left ideology until the are inevitable betrayed… typically in their 40’s or 50’s….They then joins the bulk of society and the the former lefties who came to their senses earlier in life.
3. A rare breed, people from group 1 and 2 who realize that group 1 can be a very strong political force and that their naive ideology could be channeled for personal gain or empowerment. Group 3 tend to be highly narcissistic… think Obama or Kim Jong Un.
So how does this apply to Mulcair? Stage 1. Mulcair claims that he was most influenced in school by a Priest and an American draft dodger…. Stage 2… the above video and the Thatcher video. Mulcair seems almost normal. Stage 3.. well, look at him now.
Summary: Lefties at their lowest level are believers of lies… a small minority evolve to become the tellers of the lies. Mulcair is the latter.

I’ll say this about Tom. He is more Conservative than Communist. He is to the right in the NDP as are some other NDP candidates including the one in my riding. But I think they are a minority in the party, many of whom (I know from work) hold memberships in both the NDP and the Communist Party of Canada. You aren’t supposed to belong to two or more parties but there you go.

Having said that, NDP ideology is closer to Conservative ideology than it is to Liberal ideology on a number of issues includimg security and crime. At least officially.

The way it stands now, Mulcair is more to the right of the left than Trudeau who is selling policy from the Islamic book of national socialist-Communist ideas.

Remember Ezra said he’d rather Mulcair win than Trudeau if Harper doesn’t? Well, if we get threatened again with a coalition government, let’s hope it’s a Conservative/NDP one. I think Mulcair would like that. After all, what defines Mulcair more than anything is lust for power.

I personally don’t have issue with this story on Tom – Mr. Mulcair is an NDP Leader with a political platform suited for today’s climate for change and I think that Unions are still the best answer for job security, good wages, working conditions, health and safety. Even the Rebel Media Staff might consider unionizing even though I’m sure their boss is a really nice boss.

I’ve worked for non union and union newspapers in Canada over my 42 years as a newspaper pressman – When I got a job with a unionized newspaper it was the better of two evils regardless I was labeled a scab by some in the Union.

You hit the head on the nail

does he make these statements to win hearts and minds or does he make these statements for political motives only, it gives me fears of what he will say to get elected, or it gives me cheers that he may not be as deep a socialist as his party platform…

Hopefully voters do not mistake these early videos as a sign that Mr. Mulcair will be a pragmatist if he gains power. Albertans thought Ms. Notley was a pragmatist because her father was a prairie socialist, and look where that got them. A pragmatic socialist, today, is an oxymoron…regressive socialist, however, is not.
