Putin “to challenge Canadian sovereignty” with world’s largest icebreaker

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Russia just launched the world’s largest icebreaker, called the Arktika. I wonder where Vladimir Putin intends to sail it? Yeah — pretty much the only place he could is in Canada’s north. So how do you think Trudeau will respond?

Hmm. Nuclear powered. Does this make it “green” and safe from carbon taxes? I wonder how the lefties will spin it? Good- not carbon powered or bad- nuclear powered?

Hey …I am trying to remember which group of trolls ripped me hard during the election when I said if The Pie Eyed Prince of Puff got elected it wouldn`t be long before the Russians were sailing into the Canadian North..it appears I may have been right …Now what ??

understand why the north is strategic from a military mind. this may be tough to grasp for those who do not understand ICBM missile defense strategies but try and wrap your head around it.
the shortest distance to anywhere on earth is from the poles. all you have to do is throw a missile very high up on a given vector and a given speed and wait for the earth to spin until the target is below you. we are spinning at roughly 1 040 miles per hour. that is faster than the speed of sound. faster than a missile. this saves on fuel and allows for a greater payload. hence the reason military powers covet possession of the north and south poles.

Fraser Mcburney commented – " other nuclear powers want our north Britain, France, The U.S.A. China that’s 5 nuclear powers plus Denmark Norway and the Netherlands They all covet our North"

I hear ya, Never was a clearer case of protect it or lose it – largest virtually undefended border on earth, sparsely populated, minimal rapid deployment permanent military installations, rich in mineral wealth and sea harvest – a diamond under ice that hungry vultures are eyeing as their resources play out.

No doubt there will be challenges to our claim of sovereignty over it – during Harper’s watch there were regular Russian air patrols and nuclear sub activity in our airspace and waters – Harper makes a meaningless threat to Putin at a G20 meeting – he probably had a good laugh later – with the Marxist-in-chief south of us now ignoring the US northern defense capability, we are on our own

Mean while we have a new leader who couldn’t find out norther border on a map and is so deluded he believes there is no true malevolence against us in the world because he saw none at the upscale bistros of Whistler or Mont Temblant.

I hope the Innuit can learn Russian quickly so they get along in their new gulag.

I thought Gore said the arctic ice caps would be gone by now. Can’t anyone get their shit together.

I think our politicians are all like Casper milquetoast, form Harper to Justin, there is little difference. they have no backbone, and get nothing done.
It appears if we want something done, we are going to have to crowd fund to build our own navy and jet fighters etc. the Gov’t is a lame duck.
commented 2016-06-20 08:32:21 -0400
Of course we are late to the game. No Gov’t I have seen from Harper to Deif to cretien to justin actually governs. They just play in Ottawa and waste our tax money while real things should have been going on.

Like Ice breakers. If I was in charge they would be built. In fact, there is little use for a deck on a Ice breaker in the Arctic so the ship should look more like a whale having a sharpened front, ride like a ship but be able to sink up to 50 ft. under the water, not a sub, but able to submerge. made to break ice, tough as nails and mostly for inboard travel. And if they needed a mast, it could be retractable so that the whole ship could become stealth. Same with a Garage for Helicopters. Sure they could have a deck, to land on, but the garage would be like a elevator that is flat on the deck and pops out so equipment can be stored inboard out of the weather. And if it was a nuclear ship, it could run above or slightly below water level any place in the planet, able to break Ice at will. If you must call it a ice breaking Sub that has a platform and runs much of its time above the water level, call it what you want.

Thats what we need that will operate in the north. Not small play toys that break down, cant break Ice, has no goal keepers and no ship guns. We should have the most dangerous Ice breaking ship/subs on the planet. And that just keeps the crowds mellow and keeps guys like Purine at home.

i thought icebreakers were no longer needed? Putin really lost it, building icebreakers, that is so funny…

Trudeau will suck Putin’s cock and then wipe his chin
commented 2016-06-20 02:42:45 -0400
The ice breaker can be sailed just north of Russia, without going into Canadian waters. Ezra is fear mongering again.

Nah – just another rich kid that managed to suck in all those eastern votes – enjoyed the comment though – needed that chuckle – because that is all w are now – jut a bunch of heart breakers.

I am not sure that Justin even knows where that is.

I’ll give Sean Penson this … he certainly does know how to poke a response from the people on this site.

Trudope the Younger will try to appease Putin. He will console Vladimir over the Soviet hockey demise at Sochi, and probably set up some kind of joint venture with the Russians, playing up to Putin and using inclusion as his talking point for making the Canadian North a shared interest for the betterment of mankind. Boy Wonder would be beside himself in joy over his self perceived advancement in the hierarchy of the UN. Putin, in the meantime, will be chuckling all the way to the bank knowing that Baby fills his diaper at the mere site of the Russian leader. And Putin probably won’t be shy in challenging NATO. The Crimean incident should be evidence of that.

Even some of JT’s ardent supporters may be pining for Harper before junior’s exploits conclude. Trouble you say, we’re in it….up to our necks!!

I believe Trudeau will take a strong, principled stand on this one. I believe he will send a strong warning to Russia to respect our sovrenty in the north, and if they violate that sovrenty, he will escalate countermeasures, which would start with verbal warnings to invading icebreakers, then warning shots from our CF18s across the bow, and then, if they still don’t turn back, he will send a boarding party to cease the ship. If they successfully repel the boarding party, Trudeau will no doubt order the ship sunk and all the crew taken prisoner. He will then dispatch the entire Canadian military to invade Russia, sweeping down from the north while he personally flies to Moscow to challenge Putin to a boxing match. I also believe in Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy and the Boogie Man.

Canada has ceded the dense of it borders to the US. It is evident by the action of every government since WW2. We are ceding our laws to the WTO, NAFTA and, in large part, to the U.S. with their encroachment into our ability to regulate our own corporations. We have ceded control of our municipal laws to regional planning authorities which take their direction from other super bodies. We have ceded our natural resource development to foreign entities. We allow sedition on our soil by foreigners. We even allow the establishment of alien laws in our lands but we should be worried about Russia. It is much more serious than that Ezra.

Unfortunately our subs can’t operate in the high Artic and we have only one supply ship (built in 1963)
As for NATO the other nuclear powers want our north Britain, France, The U.S.A. China that’s 5 nuclear powers plus Denmark Norway and the Netherlands They all covet our North

Ezra that was hilarious at the end of your comment …bravo!!!
commented 2016-06-19 22:25:58 -0400
Well he can build it and use it to make ice cubes of Russian icebergs but if he uses it to trespass in our sovereign waters he will be paying us to salvage its sunken wreck.

You realize the Russki Ice breakers never go anywhere without air and sub surface support. If we see this in our waters it will be a NATO security issue

Let’s kick some Russian Butt!
commented 2016-06-19 21:11:13 -0400
I’ve been harping on this subject for years. We have 5 nuclear nation that covet our Artic and we have had 30 years of government failure do anything about it.
If you remember my blog on how to develop our North were we would open Churchill’s harbor where we build a nuclear power plant to electrify the north , where we would built the world’s largest LNG plant where we build LNG tankers to supply Europe where we would build two nuclear powered ice breakers ( that were first proposed by the Liberal government back in the 90s ) where we open a fishery industry in Hudson Bay
so lets just sit by as we watch the Russian take over our Artic

SEAN You know our wimpy PM well, that is probably what he would do in a confrontation.
Unlike Harper the little boy has no steel and would give in right away, Harper would tell Putin to get the F**k out .
It will be interesting to see how our little boy PM handles it.
Maybe he could just rub Putin’s shoulders and ask him where those tensions come from.

If we cede anything to the Russians they won’t stop until they have everything they want resource wise. The Russians won’t care what the UN has to say. They won’t care about environmentalism, or any other warm & fluffy platitudes. They will pillage our northern territory after claiming it as their own. We have a GREAT military, but it cannot withstand the size & determination of the Russian colossus.

We are about to face a test of resolve. They have a powerful & confident ‘hawk’ leading their country. He will be facing a prancing & preening ‘peacock’ on marionette strings.

Everyone repeat after me: " Greetings tovarich, welcome to your newest Russian territory." “How may we serve you?”
commented 2016-06-19 19:53:19 -0400
I can see all this now, justin and entourage up in the Arctic with selfie sticks, a whole slew of photographers, holding up a sign welcome Russia, but please don’t come here. If you do will have to tell the UN about you. On the other hand, if you agree to help us rig the next election we can let you have the north.

Moral of the story, you can always trust the liberal to be open to making a good deal.

Are you fucking nuts SEAN PENSION – to give the North West Passage and islands to the Russia!
