Question of the day: Are you concerned about the state of the country's economy?

Emily PrattRebel Correspondent

Questions about the state of Canada's economy continue to mount as new data suggests the country is heading for a recession. Federal Finance Minister Joe Oliver still says it's too early to tell.

So I hit the streets to see if you are concerned over the state of the country's economy.

Dave asked, “Who are we going to look to for transfer payments?”

Saskatchewan, I guess.

Fraser, Canada as a whole under Harper has faired better than just about anybody getting through the recession of 2008. Ontario and other socialist provinces are still hurting and for good reason. But until now most of Canada was moving upward.

With Notely in Alberta, on top of OPEC keeping oil prices down, the whole country is suffering again and on a downward spiral.

We can’t control what OPEC does, but more socialism and irresponsible spending will only make the downturn more severe.

Harper has a background in economics, but he is not a magician, and in this climate, it is going to be tough.

I wasn’t until Notley and crew took over Alberta. Who are we going to look to for transfer payments?

No I am not worried about the economy. I trust Harper to take care of it.

I’m concerned about the world economy and Canada is part of the world. Everyone in the piece seems to agree that there is a problem with the economy, but they sure have some weird ideas about how to fix it.

No, I’m not worried about the economy.

I’m worried about government spending, and (un)accountability, and minority politics, and religious terrorism, and… but no, not the economy.

With the NDP government in Alberta killing the Golden Goose that funds Transfer Payments to other provinces … yeah even Toronto will feel the pain.

WAKE UP AND SMELL TH COFFEE Canada and the world have been in a recession since the financial crash of 2008 Ontario’s economy has been more hurt than the rest of Canada because of high taxes and very high electric costs this liberal left wing government has done everything to discourage manufacture. They have wasted money on wind mills at 10 times the cost as water falling of a cliff they have driven the provincial debt over that cliff our provincial interest rate has been down graded that cost us poor Ontarian’s more money.
