Question of the day: Do you think the Bill C-51 protesters will steal Canadian secrets?

Emily PrattRebel Correspondent

Government affiliated websites have been hit hard by a string of cyber attacks over the past few weeks. Those claiming responsibility are not accessing information and say its all in protest of the controversial Bill C-51.

So I hit the streets to see if you think the protest will take the next step and steal Canadian secrets?

Jason Weaver – problem with hiring better hackers than the bad guys is that the bad guys pay better than we do. sigh.

In order to protect from these hackers, Canada needs to hire a crack team of counter hackers and ethical hackers. And they do exist. I know a few personally. The U.S has employed both types time and time again since the rise of the Internet. If Canada can’t keep up, we’re going to to get caught unawares and anyone’s personal and private information, left, right and center will be subject to public eyes. How many secrets does the average person have? How many does the government have? In this day and age, we need to be prepared. Enact C-51 and give the authority to shut down these morons.

of course they will. With some of these activists these days, it’s pure, unadulterated self absorption. Like union bosses are with the people they allegedly represent. It’s not about helping people; it’s about sticking it to someone, somehow. Nice world we live in.

There problem I see in this bill based on experience I have had with other well intentioned legislation. Currently I trust the ruling regime to exercise proper discretion because I am in agreement with the current regime’s assessment of who are the real and present danger and who are my enemies.

If this bill gets passed on to the Liberals…..I become the enemy….I know this for a fact because they saw fit to put me on a McCarthy list in the past….Thing is though…..Bill C-51 really won’t change the game…because when I was one of the one’s the Liberal Watchers watched….they went ahead and acted as if they already had this power anyway………….:-)

The protesters of this bill don’t seem to realize that wether this bill existed or not…….none of them could afford the legal fees to find out who is watching the watchers…………:-)

Excellent opportunity to put Bill C-51 to practice!

Harper missed his chance to bury bill C51 once and for all when he let the GG sign it into law. Now we will see CPC and Liberal support get gutted by a rising NDP, who are seen as heroes by many for saving Canada from a terrible security bill.
