I guess then when anybody gets beheaded or raped anywhere else but your backyard then you don’t give a shit either and by backyard I mean "you’re " backyard

Rick,

I do pay attention to trains, thunderstorms and traffic lights – because the odds are in the TRILLIONS that I would be harmed or killed by a terrorist – compared to a train, lightning or a car.

Kelvin,

Sure it was covered, but nobody really gave a shit.

Jimmy, the attack in Ottawa was covered on CNN, fox and BBC news I know this because I watched them all and they ran for a hole news cycle. There is a lot of veterans on this site like myself in peticular that served during the P.E. Trudeau era and was deployed to places with nothing more than a dull jackknife, so I have seen first hand what military ‘s look like with no money’s budgeted to them. We still don’t make our budgetary requirements for our military for our roll in NATO . I hate the fact that radical "anybody " wants to kill, mame, disrupt guys like you, my Canadian Jimmy and I like the fact that there is somebody out there protecting you, my Canadian Jimmy

Lalalalala Live in your fantasy world Jimmy. It’s a free country. Being “fearful” as you put it is a stretch. Being aware is quite another. To utilize your rationale?, one should ignore oncoming trains, stand out in the middle of a field in a thunderstorm, ignore traffic lights, etc, etc. etc. So typical of the left to consider the world will stop for them! B.T.W. You have yet to aswer my question posed some time ago. What are you a “Doctor” of? Or are you a fraud as suggested by some other posters on various threads?

Peter,

You are welcome – I am glad that you are able to concede that while there are crazies and morons on both sides – conservatives own the patent on being the absolute worst in this regard.

James,

Look up Todd Aiken.

Jason,

Apparently you don’t know how to comprehend what you read. So let’s try it again:

I never said do nothing (or expect unicorns to save us) or don’t protect Canada, but it’s way too much due to fear mongering and manufactured outrage. They could still protect Canada with the military budget cut in half. The same goes for America. It’s disgusting quite frankly how much money is pissed away needlessly when it comes to the military.

The CN Tower or the ACC are not big enough “gets” for terrorists. And if terrorists want to make a statement against gay people – it would be gay pride in America. Not fucking Canada. I don’t understand how some of you can be so fucking stupid in thinking that attacking Canada will get them what they want overall. If the Boston bombing happened in Toronto, it wouldn’t have remotely got the same attention and made the same impact as it did in Boston.

The world doesn’t really give a shit about what happens in Canada and mostly this is due to the fact that the world media doesn’t cover Canada all that much. No one outside of Canada even knows about the attack in Ottawa. But if it happened in New York – it would be covered by every news source on the planet. And terrorists know this and want this. Attacking Canada doesn’t get you the breaking news/front page news that terrorists want.

Liza,

Anything in this world is possible, but I am not going to “prepare” for a terrorist attack and I am not concerned at all. It’s more likely that I will be hit by lightning AND win the lottery on the same day.

When you go to some major event, do you actually sit down and make a plan just in case terrorists decide to blow shit up?

When I go to the movies, should I “prepare” for the possibility that some crazy guy will the shoot people in the theatre?

When my number is up – it’s up. That’s how I live my life. It’s very liberating.

Yes, and surprised nothing has happened yet, here or the USA, but these are a good tactic’s to not doing major items in the West, it stops back lash and people waking up and smelling the gunpowder, and then the politics, lawfare and politically correct lefty stuff can be used.

Jimmy where did this come from, “God will shut down a woman’s body to protect her during rape”. As a well read Christian, this is an eye opener, sources please, or only comment on what you know and understand, oops, may keep you off the board for our amusement.
commented 2015-06-25 02:07:34 -0400
Who woke up Jimmy? I was starting to think this lefty lunatic finally gave up. Oh well, I guess I was wrong. So Jimmy, what is your pixie dust induced brain tell you today? That unicorns will protect us from the big bad terrorists? That simply closing our eyes and ears to the problem will make it go away?

Terrorism isn’t just about taking lives. As far as great targets go, The CN tower? The ACC? Queen’s Park? Actually, given who rules from there, that wouldn’t be a bad idea… But seriously, I can name places other than Toronto they would likely hit too, just in the name of creating chaos alone. And the comment that Fraser made about the Gay Pride parade being a likely target isn’t as far-fetched as you’d believe. According to the radical Muslim beliefs, being gay is a lethal offense to their religion. What better way to serve Allah than to waste a bunch of gay heathens? If that logic makes me homophobic in your eyes, then you have more deep rooted problems than just being a deluded individual.

And as far as your comment about us living in fear, afraid to leave our houses… That’s the goal of terrorism. But we still venture outside, and go to work, and have fun with our fellow Canadians. But being on alert also is important too, otherwise the terrorists agenda of turning us into frightened cattle will succeed. You really need to do your homework Jimmy.

Hehe… No wonder my pal Lazarus1940 on Twitter thinks you’re a joke.

’ homophobic’ ISIS crazies, not homosexual.
(maybe both)
commented 2015-06-24 23:09:59 -0400
But, but Jimmy,
Jimmy you have to admit, the gay pride parade could potentially be a target of homosexual ISIS crazies. They throw them off roof tops in Iran.
It could potentially make the Boston bombing look mild. I’d be concerned if I were you. You don’t need live in fear, you need to live prepared.
commented 2015-06-24 23:06:56 -0400
Thank you Jimmy. I appreciate your cooperation by posting a comment that makes my point so eloquently.
commented 2015-06-24 22:58:34 -0400
Peter,

And there are conservatives that think you can pray the gay away, the Earth is only 6,000 years old and God will shut down a woman’s body to protect her during rape. Sorry to wake you from your slumber, but conservatives own the rights to batshit crazy when it comes to conservatives vs. liberals.

Find anything from a liberal that you think is insane or moronic and I will show you something that a conservative said or did that is a million times worse.
commented 2015-06-24 22:48:22 -0400
Liza,

Sorry, but LOL. Anything COULD happen, but it’s astronomically unlikely. But hey if you want to live your life being fearful of leaving your house to go to some major event because terrorists may be lurking, then fine.

There is a mental disease that permeates the leftist mind.

This disease impairs rational though and tends to cause the infected to perceive morality in an inverted way. What is good becomes a bad and what is a bad becomes a good.

This disease impairs the infected into thinking he is the epitome of intelligence which typically results in the infected dismissing in mockery anyone that disagrees with him, usually manifested in highly personal insults and verbal attacks deriding their victims’ intellect when they become incapable of responding to their victim in an intelligent manner.

These leftists are to be pitied as they are incapable of breaking out of their restrictive thought regime due to social indoctrination from a variety of sources including, but not restricted to, educational institutions, main stream media and social media.

Some of these poor souls post their indoctrination on this site and expect those of us here to simple fall in line and believe what they comment without thought or evaluation just as they did when they were indoctrinated.

Yes, Toronto is a potential target for terrorists. So is every other community, large or small, and every other major infrastructure and transportation corridor in the Country. Mathematical probability would tend to indicate terrorist attacks in the largest Metropolitan areas would be the most likely, as they would have the greatest impact on the greatest number of people. However, the odds of any single individual being hit or personally impacted by a terrorist attack is extremely remote, but then so is winning the lottery but that doesn’t stop people from buying tickets. We cannot know what is on the minds of radical Islamists in this Country. I’m definitely not fear mongering. There is no reason to be fearful, but every reason to be cautious and recognize the threat for what it is. There are people who hate us and believe it is their duty to Allah to kill us all. Right now they’re a minority and located far away in the Middle East. But many are from here, and many want to leave and join the fight. When the avenues for leaving are closed to them, what are they going to do? How are they going to carry on the fight where they are? We just don’t know. Right now the threat to any individual is extremely low, but if we ignore that threat it will grow exponentially.

Like I said before your rhetoric is outdated.

With the waste thanks to Obama’s one toe in approach, I would agree they are spending way more than they are getting any value for. Canada however needs to update.

The same goes for America. It’s disgusting quite frankly how much money is pissed away needlessly when it comes to the military.

According to the 2011 National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) report, Americans are more likely to be killed from a myriad of random objects and activities, before they should ever have to worry about being targeted and killed in a terrorist attack.

To put it in perspective, more people are crushed to death by their televisions or furniture each year, than they are targeted or harmed by any terrorist. The police in your own city pose more of a threat to your liberty than any terrorist ever would. According to 2011 data, the chances of you being attacked by a terrorist are roughly 1 in 20 million. Compared to the likelihood of you drowning in a bathtub (1 in 800,000), losing your life in a car crash (1 in 19,000), dying in a building fire (1 in 99,000), or being struck by lightning (1 in 5,500,000).

We should honestly be more concerned about heart disease, strokes, or cancer, before we should worry about any terrorist threat. It should also be noted that terrorist incidents have only increased in prevalence since the inception of the war on terror back in 2001.

Peter,

I am more concerned about crime and murder in Canada every year more so than some extremely rare incident with a fucktard that stormed Ottawa.
commented 2015-06-24 22:10:53 -0400
Rick,

LOL. It must suck to live your life with such fear over something that has a negligible chance of happening. You have better odds to win millions in a lottery. But sure, it COULD happen. Anything COULD happen.

Like I said before – Toronto isn’t enough of a “get” for terrorists. Blowing up New York or London sure – but nobody gives a fuck about Toronto to blow it up. It just won’t have the same sort of media attention and impact that they want. I mean most people in the world don’t even know about the attack in Ottawa, but if it happened in New York – it would be front page news everywhere. See my point? Canada won’t get them the attention that they want.

Yep..bigtime. I maintain the leftists will become food for the alligator after attempting to befriend it.
commented 2015-06-24 21:52:41 -0400
Fraser,

Thanks for confirming that you are a bigot and homophobic. Are you suggesting that Pride or the Pan-Am Games will have a terrorist attack?
commented 2015-06-24 21:22:13 -0400
The foiled Toronto 18 Islamic terrorists had planned to blow up buildings in Toronto including the CN Tower which, like the World Trade Center towers in New York City, is a distinctive landmark for Toronto and a symbol of Canada, so naturally Toronto, being Canada’s largest city, will remain a target for future Islamo-fascist terrorism (as will other major Canadian cities). Canadians that would deny this possibility are typically gullible, complacent Leftist Islamist apologist milquetoasts.

“but any is too much, imo.” Agreed. Including threats from within or out.
