Question of the Day: Should FIFA hold a new vote for World Cup hosts?

Emily PrattRebel Correspondent

The soccer world was rocked this morning with the arrest of several FIFA officials on corruption charges.

I asked if this means FIFA should hold a new vote for World Cup hosts.

I agree with Fraser. The whole committee should be disbanded. There’s always be a “grey area” in all the dealings where the FIFA has been involved. Even as far back as 1982 when the Italians were bribing referees the FIFA done very little as a punishment. They even allowed them to keep the World Cup, which they obviously were not entitled to. As you say Fraser, cost overuns should be a " red flag" for an immediate investigation, but hey, we shouldn’t have to tell them that should we?
Everything seems to be corrupt these days, especially where money is involved.

First of all, the FIFA members were arrested after those members proposed that Israel be banned from participation in any FIFA games as a protest against its apartheid policies – just like they did with South Africa. Today we learn that the Israeli governement is back bombing Gaza as they try to remove any evidence of a Palestinian culture in that area which validates the FIFA members’ proposal.
Secondly, those FIFA members were arrested and extradited to the USA. None of them are American citizens or have committed a crime in the USA so why the arrests on corruption charges.
Thirdly, The USA has such little influence in FIFA that its lame protest about the games going to Russia is a laugh. This whole episode looks like another attempt by the Israeli government to impose it’s perverted values on the world through it’s bitch – the USA. It’s not working based on all the negative reaction around the world by non-corporate media.
Keep these facts in mind as the deception and diversion continues. The longer it’s in the news means the more positive effect the real media is having on world opinion.

Without a doubt FIFA should be disbanded and any one connected with FIFA should be terminated and a new organization formed. By the way they should do the same to the Olympic Comity and an investigation should be held into the Toronto Pan Am Games the cost over runs are criminal
