Question of the Day: Was Fox TV affiliate wrong to blur breasts on Picasso painting?

Emily PrattRebel Correspondent

A Fox News affiliate station is under fire for blurring the breasts on a Picasso painting during a report on a record-breaking auction.

We asked if this was a case of a local TV channel overreacting?

Can’t watch. Says “video is private”. WTF????
commented 2015-05-15 15:30:15 -0400
I signed in, but the video wouldn’t work.

Instead, the box just keeps showing: “Please sign in to view this video.”

Perhaps thinks I’m under-age?

Thanks for the compliment!

Let’s face it, folks. Sex is dirty, filthy and disgusting. Which is precisely why it’s so much fun. If you don’t think it is, you’re obviously not doing it right.

Could everyone else here see the video? When I click on it, I just get a message that says “This video is Private”.

Not “wrong” just philistine – catering to the lowest common denominator who may see something dirty

We can say breasts, penis, vulva, vagina, buttocks and anus. We can even say “fuck” and “cunt”.

See? The sky didn’t fall. They are just words.

Criminalizing words is silly. Languages evolve. In ireland and parts of Scotland, “cunt” is used interchangeably with “colleen”. Both denote girls with no dirty connotation.

Nakedness, sexuality and their denotation are not bad. It is how people sometimes use them to do bad things that should be criticized, not genitals and sexuality themselves.

Children are not naturally offended by nakedness. That offense is entirely learned. I would rather teach children to respect others, including their nakedness, than to hide or censor the fact that no one ever taught them to respect their own or others’ nakedness.

I dunno, Terry, what about that Rockwell of the boy with his pants down exposing his buttocks?

Blurring the Picasso is hysterical. But are we sure this isn’t Fox making a rather obtuse but satirical critique of art censorship like that of the middle-eastern man leading a donkey?

Anyone know Fox’s rationale for the decision?

Absolutely, Vlad. I mean, Norman Rockwell – now THAT was ART.

Europe has its roots in debauchery. Walked through the redlight in Amsterdam in the 90s – lots of pedophile porn in the windows and like fkg shows you could pay $50 to watch – socialist utopia.

The US chooses the opposite of this socialist utopia crap and emphasizes this, in all instances, to annoy the rest of the socialist utopia world.

Remember, Europe still sees the US as their colony and nothing pleases the US more than kicking sand in their face.

Americans, even after 350+ years, have still have not managed to rid themselves of that strange and queer Puritan strain in their DNA.

You have to keep in mind that no matter HOW strange Canadians at times seem to be……..Americans are much stranger people.

Did they blur David’s doodle too?

Surprised it wasn’t a Pic***o painting. But really boobs are the least of our worries when it comes to stuff our kids are exposed to, Ontario education would be more of a concern for me than breasts.

Here we are, in Ontario, teaching youths how to do weird things to their sex partner, with their fists and Fox News is covering up Picasso depictions of Breast’s.
commented 2015-05-14 18:30:35 -0400
Considering it was one of Picasso’s paintings who would know it was a breast, maybe it was a nostril. Seriously, they could have left it alone. No one would notice I’m sure.

I don’t think you should be using the word “br**st” on a conservative website.

If you choose to show the picture, than show the picture in whole. If you feel part of the picture is in bad taste then don’t show in. Besides the Streisand Effect comes into place, people will search for the full uncensored image.
