Rebel Derangement on display at Edmonton anti-Harper protest

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

Earlier this week Stephen Harper made a quick stop in Edmonton. But this Harper rally was all business for me.

I decided I’d take my camera and my pleasant disposition to talk to the protestors that so often congregate at these things. The micro protest was a whopping five people but if no anti Harper protest is too small for the CBC, then its good enough for me, too!

I walked into that micro protest thinking I’d be hearing about the usual stuff: missing and murdered aboriginal women, the niqab, Canada Post home delivery and the CBC.

Somehow I ended up talking about Vladimir Putin as a peacenik and cartoons with people who liked me until they found out who my boss is.

Rebel Derangement is real.

Jim Holden : You caught that too as well. The unforseen consequences of NAFTA and other trade deals was its enabling of large manufacturers, particularly in the auto sector, to outsource jobs to cheaper labour markets, which in effect killed North American Manufacturing over several decades.

Sheila claimed our economy is larger than ever, but omitted that it is now based off mainly primary and tertiary industry, such as farming, mining, raw materials and our apparently laudable service industries so as to not shoot her own TPP argument down. Smart move, but not smart enough. We caught it.

As for the rest of it, well C-51 will be a necessary evil for what is about to come. Too bad the old folk can’t see what’s coming in the video as it could very well be another World War. If the worst happens in that way, seriously fuck bill C-51! Here comes the War Measures Act. Smoke and mirrors over nothing. The war monger crap was laughable. With the exception of some useless pokey-chest with Putin, Harper is no war monger. Quite the opposite.

If Gunn Reid wants to attend an anti-Harper rally she should go to Ontario. Oshawa and Sudbury had doozies. I suspect people in Alberta just take Harper for granted.
If Gun Reid doesn’t want to be “locked up behind the media fences” as she says, she should have attended an NDP or Liberal rally.
Better still, had she attended an Elizabeth May rally she could have enjoyed one-on-one time with the leader herself.

NAFTA hurt the industry that I worked in by forcing “economies of scale” to compete with American industry. This resulted in over 50% of the provincial plants closing. I wasn’t Out of Work but I had to move on to a different province with a different line of work. My feelings on the TPP are mixed.
commented 2015-10-11 22:44:35 -0400
I am not in favor of the TPP based on what I know about the “free movement of people” between the pact countries. I would say that our immigration policy is already out of control and I do not wish another layer to be added. I could be wrong. I would appreciate it if someone would set me right but, from what I do understand we are looking at another flood of immigrants from 2nd world countries.

Sheila you don’t have to go to street protests to see deranged haters – just read the comment threads here.

These protesters are very stupid.

I find it instructive that as soon as these ‘protesters’ realize they are being questioned by someone that will hold them too account for what they are actually saying/doing they immediately clam up. It is not unlike catching a teenager in a lie, there is always a grand story until they realize they have been caught in the lie then nothing but avoidance and retreating to the group of co-liars for moral support

I really like Sheila. Most of the time I want to high five her. I feel that way about the Rebel in general. But some times life is not as simple as this place would make it out to be.

Vlad said earlier that there are almost always two sides to most issues. I think some things are more complex than this. Libya and what transpired there is a great example of this principle. By and large it is an issue that we should all be able to agree on if we understand the truth of what really transpired there. Certainly – at this point in the game – we should be able to at least recognize that its outcome was a disaster. Personally I am embarrassed that we were involved at all in it. Conservatives will criticize me for this. Some will call me a traitor. I’m ok with this. Liberals would cheer until I remind them it would have made little difference if their boys were in charge at the time. The outcome would have been the same. There is a reason our foreign policy and monetary policy mimics our neighbours to the south. I would suggest it has to do with a lack of sovereignty. Think of yourself as living in Gaul at the height of the Roman Empire. Once you are able to wrap your head around who you are and where you are in the history of our civilization then it becomes easier for us to put things like Libya into perspective.

Maybe the problem with this country is that we figure we have to fit nicely into a camp – you are either conservative or liberal. The narrative we are sold does not allow for anything in between for some reason. Moreover it distracts from the mor important issue – what is it to be Canadian?

Maybe it would be a better country if we dropped the labels, started doing the math, admitted where we fit into the bigger picture and actually started doing something about it. As much as some like to criticize Putin and Russia the one thing we can say for sure is that they seem to care less about political labels internally than they do about simply being Russian.

Fighting over who’s man is the right man for the job is getting old. We are down to voting for the lesser of evils – and while I will fully admit that the conservatives are the prettiest pig in the pen they are still just pigs.

Food for thought.

Bruce Kirk — I think it’s less what’s in Edmonton’s water than Edmonton being the seat of government, besides being one of the two largest cities in Alberta. We can find the same thing in both Vancouver and Victoria, Toronto and Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City. Large cities and the seat of government are the problem — everybody knows what comes out of the seat…!

This is why it should be mandatory for all voters to take a simple IQ Test, before being permitted to vote.

Old hippies, and a dumb old communist women. That’s about what one expects to see a lot more of at these anti-Conservative knitting club gatherings. The only thing missing, were the young tree hugging dope smokers. I guess they were sleeping off a hangover or something.

I think conservatives should start putting ‘anti’ in front of the various ‘derangement syndrome’ references. For example, ‘Rebel derangement syndrome’ would be ‘anti-Rebel derangement syndrome’, etc. It’s kinda confusing as it is now. You have to think for a minute to realize they are talking about people who don’t like THEREBEL.MEDIA, as opposed to people who do like it, and that’s only finally obvious because of the context. Same thing with ‘Harper derangement syndrome’. Who the heck is that talking about? Okay, I know, but its counter-intuitive without the ‘anti’. It seems like it’s referring to people who like Harper. It’s unfortunate that ‘anti’ wasn’t adopted from the outset. Anyone agree with me?

I feel a lot of pity right now

The saddest part of Seila’s video is the fact that the stupid ones were an older couple that normally you would think were smarter because of their senior years. They could be considered Elders, where in some societies were looked up to and listened to because of their wisdom garnered over a lifetime of learning and understanding good from bad, truth from lies and knowing what is best for their people. However these two came across as sheeple following along with what the MSM spews. For supposed older, wiser and smarter elders these two were frauds.
Also sadly I know a couple of them right here in my home town.

And should these lefty dolts ever find themselves in a cage about to be drowned by the Terrorists they seem so sympathetic to, I suspect they will be yelling the loudest for the Government to come and save them. I missed their welcome home Khadr sign.

Its a sad commentary on our education system that people can be such lemmings.

@michaeldoll – the socialist playbook is “Road To Serfdom” by Hayek – Austrian economics. Dry read. Very insightful.

what is in the water in Edmonton that seems to produce these folks? I would be willing to bet that all of the people congregated there are retired union stooges still reading the union hall propaganda letters

All animals are equal, but some are more equal than others. And from his other book, the two minute hate. The left has got to stop using Orwell as a guidebook, those were supposed to be cautionary tales!
commented 2015-10-09 14:08:24 -0400
This fucking socialist hate spew is all over the US.

GQ Magazine publishes “fuck you Ben Carson” – ranked second for GOP leader.

When the socialists panic, they spew hate.

Harvard professor calls Ben Carson a coon.

And Harvard has no issue housing this racist cunt!!!

Yeeeeah … I don’t completely disagree with the woman’s view on trade agreements. I think much of the trade we do within NAFTA is US selling natural resources to THEM – which is a good thing BUT … in terms of spreading the wealth to the population at large … not so much. It accelerated the demise of what manufacturing work we had left (read – decent jobs for those without university degrees). GDP I think grows in large part with the population. If we had no growth in population that went along with growth in GDP … then you could call free trade a success. What is the per capita GDP growth I wonder?
Buddy with his “anti-war” malarkey? He’s just an aging hippie boomer who lives in his own little world of delusion and denial and has no concept of what our world has actually become.
Not a whole lot to see here in my opinion.

This is a podcast from the States but you will get the gist of what socialists are, uninformed, ignorant, and most of all they are parrots that repeat socialist propaganda.
Enjoy this link as I was laughing and thinking finally, someone telling a socialist that they are wrong, and wrong most times because they do not inform themselves. Same as these protesters, just parrot what you hear and have no understanding of what you said.
commented 2015-10-09 13:53:00 -0400
Distortion from Ezra? Socialist distort everything. These socialists are so uninformed it’s disgusting. When I want to speak to someone about policies or other topics I make damn sure I get all the facts before opening my mouth. I will never understand a socialist that just imitate what ever the MSM says, when they do that they look so ignorant. But then again, socialist/communists do not look further than their nose as they “FEEL” what they say is real. Socialists runs on emotion and no substance, or to be politically correct, a friggin moron.

I don’t often trust Wikipedia’s account, but consider the following with respect to the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement:
- “the report of the Royal Commission chaired by Donald Macdonald (1985). Macdonald declared that “Canadians should be prepared to take a leap of faith” and pursue more open trade with the United States. Although Macdonald, the chair of the Royal Commission, was a former Liberal Minister of Finance, the commission’s findings were embraced by Prime Minister Brian Mulroney’s Progressive Conservative Party, even though they had opposed a free-trade initiative in the 1984 Canadian election campaign”.
- After the agreement came into effect, trade between Canada and the U.S. began to increase rapidly. While throughout the 20th century, exports fairly consistently made up about 25% of Canada’s gross domestic product (GDP), since 1990 exports have been about 40% of GDP. After 2000, they reached nearly 50%.”
- “While the agreement remains controversial to this day, it is no longer at the forefront of Canadian politics. It was superseded by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) in 1994. The Liberals under Jean Chrétien were elected to office in the 1993 election, partly on a promise to renegotiate key labor and environmental parts of NAFTA.” So, ultimately, the Liberals who campaigned so vigorously against the FTA came to support it:
Interesting that at Naomi Klein’s press conference introducing the socialist Leap Manifesto, sitting at the table to the left of Klein was none other than Maude Barlow of the Council of Canadians which had vociferously opposed the FTA.

As said before, there are two sides to almost all issues.

When Harper occupies the right position in almost all cases, the only option for the socialist pigs is to bicker, argue, name call, throw up hyperbole and repeat narratives that appeal to an emotion and have nothing to do with the issue under discussion.

This rings loudest when these socialist pigs use the term “nazi” (ie: national socialist) on others. A socialist calling someone else the worst form of socialist – a fascist – your ideology you fucking socialist ass-clowns.

The topper is of course is the shitstream media, namely torstar, CBC, national post, globe and mail, CTV – all socialists dogs to perpetuate socialist pig narrative.

The shitstream media lies so often that Canadians are seeing MSM for what it really is – a big pile of socialist narrative shit.

Thank God none of these people are related to me .What an embarrassment.
They can say anything they want. Free speach is for everyone.
What they say allows others to see how backward their mind set is and their nasty disposition.

Did you know the term Peacenik was a derisive term the Russians came up with to make westerners think they were do-gooders while be funded and coerced by Russian spies during the Cold War to try and stop West Germany and most of Europe from protecting themselves with defensive systems and nuclear deterrents? Hard to believe people are still willingly associating themselves with it but now for Russian and Radical Islam aggression.
