Thank you! Rebel Nation raised over $150,000 for Fort McMurray! Now see what’s next

Rebel Staff

You did it! Together, we raised more than $150,000 for Fort McMurray! I’m so grateful for your generosity.

Our campaign goal was huge: $100,000. But together, we smashed through that number, and raised more than $150,000 — one of the largest fundraising drives in the country! Thank you Rebel Nation.

And we were able to get most of that to the Red Cross in time to qualify for matching funds from the government, too — so the final number received by the Red Cross will be even higher!

I’m sure you’ve seen the pictures of Fort McMurray. It’s not just the families whose houses were burnt that need help — all families up there do, whether it’s replacing a fridge full of rotting food (because the power has been out for a month) or just getting life started again.

As you know, there’s a second part to our Rebuild Fort McMurray campaign:

Our plan to drive up to Fort McMurray in a convoy from Edmonton, to physically volunteer for whatever work is required to get families back on track. We need to wait until the professional rebuilding plans are organized, and figure out how we’d fit in helpfully, so we don’t get in the way. If you’re interested, and are geographically nearby, please click here to sign up. We’ll let you know when our plans firm up.

One last point:

As you know, 100% of the funds raised will go to the Red Cross, and they have been working with us on this project.

Keep an eye peeled for an e-mail from us with easy instructions on how to get your Red Cross charitable tax receipt.

Thanks again for being part of this great project. You truly are amazing.

Canadian Mongrel, Ezra Levant clarified in his statement of claim to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice last week that he and the Rebel covered 100% of the 5% Indiegogo charges for its fundraising.

Can the Rebel find when the Red Cross is going to release the rest of the funds Canadians donated for Ft. Mac? or let us know how much they are keeping for themselves. And while you at it, how be you find out when the Federal Gov’t is going to honour it’s commitment in matching the contributions made.

Good job. A former Albertan still caring about Albertans, as opposed to our Non-Democratic Party government.

However, according to the regressive left posters of this site and on twitter, wasn’t this just an ego trip? They have stated the falsity often enough that it must be scientific data, because that is how the regressives prove their case.

Notley is not going to allow a bus full of conservatives to help Fort Mac!
