The Rebel's "refugee camp" scoop makes international news -- but Canada's Media Party ignores it

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Yesterday we broke the news that the Liberals have ordered the Department of National Defence to draft plans to house 6,000 Syrian migrants on Canadian military bases.

These plans involve turning these bases into long-term Muslim refugee camps complete with Korans, prayer rugs and mosques.

I've since received e-mails from Canadian Armed Forces personnel confirming what I had reported, and telling me details about the mosque being prepared on site.

Because of that exclusive investigative report, more than 100,000 people came to TheRebel.media website yesterday alone. The story's been picked up around the world, from London to New York to Washington.

But Canadian media has ignored it.

This causes me great despair.

To me it’s a sign of a congenital weakness in our democracy and our media. I suppose I should rejoice and say, well, we’ll have the entire market for ourselves. That’s why we’re getting record traffic: 18 million minutes of video watched in the past 28 days.

This tells me that Canadians are desperate for the other side of the story.

And it makes me think:

What dozen or hundred other news stories have I missed, because my moral and intellectual superiors in the media and political class didn’t want me to know about them?

NEXT: Long time immigration lawyer Guidy Mamann explains why he's skeptical of Trudeau's idea of an immigration policy overhaul, including relaxing language requirements.

As well, he's just back from testifying before the U.S. Senate about Canada's refugee policy and the security issues it raises for America.

Mamann has been a lifelong advocate for refugees, so his thoughtful, measured insights are valuable for all of us to hear.

THEN: Edmonton Sun columnist Lorne Gunter takes a close look at Alberta Premier Rachel Notley's falling poll numbers.

I have a theory I call "The Two Albertas"and I ask him if it's accurate -- and what would happen if a provincial election were held today.

(PS: Lorne says that leftists who thought Stephen Harper was "controlling" should take a look at Notley's style!)

FINALLY: Your letters to me -- One viewer doesn't like my grammar, and another is thinking of moving to Russia!

Ezra you are a flake, your diatribes are pathetic. Thank you. Hope that you do eventually get a life.

The retorts by the “useful idiots” are so ‘profound’ or at least according to their warped leftist thinking.

This won’t help anyone. Certainly not Canada. And it won’t end well either. Look at Europe. First we need to stop supporting the U.S. when they decide they want to destroy another country. Next, if people are in distress and we are able to help, it makes far more sense to help them where they are rather than uproot people and ship them around the planet.

According to Ezra’s “The Two Albertas” theory, Alberta is made up of ‘makers’ and ‘takers’. I would agree with Ezra in part, but I think a better representation is that put forward by William Gairdner in his 2015 book, “The Great Divide Why Liberals and Conservatives Will Never Ever Agree.“ As a result of what Gairdner calls “libertarian socialism”, a “tripartite state” has evolved, in which one-third of the population work to create wealth, one-third work for government, and the final third live off the benefits distributed to them by the second, having confiscated them from the first. As a consequence, we have, as Gairdner suggests, a self-perpetuating Ponzi scheme, since the latter two sectors will always out-vote the former in elections. A rather discouraging assessment of the state of affairs.

it would be nice if some other media reported this because I know a bunch of libtards who dont believe this.

This is the ‘real change’ many Canadians voted for.

I have been following The Rebel for awhile now and today finally joined. You are one of only a small handful of media outlets that report the truth, as politically incorrect as that may be from time to time. And I thank you for that.

I can’t help but wonder of this report of yours has deliberately excluded o or distorted information. Was there any details you found on some of the fungus going to build and supply Christian religious centres and bibles? Would you care if that was the case ? For the record, while I am all for a more progressive secular, taxpayer money and the government are already funding relegious Christian institutions (I.e catholic school) in places . In the spirit of what’s fair, We can’t pay for Christian institutions and then refuse to do the same for other religious aspects just because people aren’t Christian

Once the Syrians are landed on our Military bases, I wonder how many court martial’s will there be afterwards. After all, do you really think that our military personal will not beat the shit out of anyone that abuses their families. Will it happen?, Denmark has 2% Muslim population, in which are responsible for over 70% of rape and physical assaults on women and children. Please don’t believe me, check it out for your self.

Roland Seguin. Good report. Every time after the election when I see Mulcair he looks and sounds very happy. I thought it was a little odd after losing so much in the election but I now believe he absolutely loves the media and what they did for him against Harper. IMO the only attempt at honest video coverage of Harper was from CPAC and even their commentators sometimes swing too far left. Hence the effort by Ezra to counter with some recruit level journalists who may some day possess the proper qualities such as truthfulness and objectivity.

Roland Seguin – you are forgetting one very crucial point. The UN is behind all of this, and have been funding the attacks on PM Harper, and anything conservative for many years. I even hazard to say that all the leftwing parties are receiving money directly to kill their own country. This is treason!

The ‘Obedient Media Party’ is a journalistic disgrace!

Democracy presumes the interaction of logical and reasonable people, not irrational eccentrics.
The role of the press in a democracy was based on it being politically non-partisan.
It is the only business protected by the constitution because it is supposed to serve and inform the people as fair arbiters, as an integral part of the checks and balance of the political sphere.

It has transgressed so far from it’s purpose that you can hardly find a non agenda driven unbiased story any more. The Canadian media has long idolized the US media, but their copycat tactics have done us great harm.

The media’s believability and trust level is at an all time low, down there with used car salesmen.

We are bombarded with anti-Conservative contrived media, hustling free publicity for their chosen leftwing politicians.
The public is obviously on-to-this as they seek other internet sources while newspapers struggle to survive.

The worst offender is the public tax-dollar funded CBC who brazenly openly acts as a campaign propaganda broadcaster for the left Liberals and NDP, bashing the Conservatives and Harper day and night at every opportunity, even after the election.
Both Trudeau and Mulcair promised the CBC hundreds of millions more tax-dollar funding if they were elected. The unethical CBC is bought off by unethical politicians bribe by laundering our tax-dollars.

Trudeau would love for a series of incidents between innocent migrants and guilty military member(s). Doesn’t matter the reason or result of the incident as that will be minor details. The real result Trudeau wants is media driven reports pointing to male white military racist bigoted guilty military member doing something stupid like defending himself or defending a female. The alternative is the ever popular female defending a rape attack and blamed for dressing inappropriately. If she is military then that would be a bonus for Trudeau.
Remember, Trudeau hates the military just as much or maybe more than Obama or dear old dad. Real results will be one gigantic pissed off military with an ever increasing amount of resignations and no recruitment to replace. This equals more money for other stuff like muslims. Full circle done.

15,700 here now, another 6000 to go by the end of feb. and then how many in the next wave? These maniac’s are repopulating the country with people from the middle east, many of which don’t even want to be here. Our country is being over run. There is no need or excuse for rushing this program the way they are. If they really wanted to help these people they would do it over there. It would be safer for Canada, even more people could be helped and be way more cost effective. We shouldn’t be flooding the country like this in the first place.
commented 2016-02-10 14:32:58 -0500
How about homing our homeless vets first, the ones who served for our country, they come home to nothing, and the government treats them like shit. It’s gotta be a major slap in the face for our vets to see you home, feed and give our money to these refugees, everything that should be going towards them for all they have done.

Andrew Sheldon, I do not think commenters on here are saying there were no international media outlets that picked up on Ezra’s story. We just want the names of some of the outlets.

Use google and find it yourself you lazy bastard. Ezra bootstraps a media company and all you can do is play “gotcha” on a story and demand more. Try doing that at those communist pig sites like CBC – you get ignored.

Try getting some truth out of the media party and all you get is a liberal tongue bath.

Be more self reliant and do it yourself – stop being a “lazy entitlement” lump and demanding others to satisfy your inquiries.

Get it??

Andrew Sheldon. Jay Kelly or Kay Jelly or whatever the fuk his name is nothing more than an idiot troll pretending to be a stupid incompetent lazy former army reservist.

25,000 refugees in one month? By the end of Feb.?
commented 2016-02-10 12:57:47 -0500
Its not like that many refugees in that short period of time will all be housed in apartments or miraculously by host families. Where do you suppose they will go when they get off the planes? They don’t have enough willing hotels, or other alternatives. The hotels are a rude expense also.

David Tremblay, what your Base Commander is telling you and what McCallum is saying do not jive.
" up until now we have not needed them"
" It may well become necessary between now and the end of the month"
“We are quite likely to need them before the exercise is complete”
http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2016/01/08/red-cross-gears-up-to-house-syrian-refugees-at-military-bases-in-coming-weeks_n_8940872.html ‘Syrian refugees to be housed at Military Bases in the coming weeks’

We understand that the bases are not being used yet, but by doing a bit of math it would seem more than highly probable that they will be used and this detailed template for financial aid and allowance will be utilized.
The Rebel is pointing out a legitimate concern for all Canadians. This is information we should all have. The devil is in the details, and now we know.
I will eat my words if those bases are not used. The only way that will happen is if the gates are closed immediately, and we all know that is not going to happen, least of all by the end of the month. I don’t it actually has much to do with the weather JT.
commented 2016-02-10 12:33:18 -0500
If indeed there was any threat (which nobody has proven that there is any threat, not even a hint of one) being on a military base is probably the safest place to house them. The place on my base they were going to be is at a cadet camp in the middle of the woods so there is no danger of any sort, either real or imagined. We have housed refugees before from Kosovo on military bases, most of which were Muslim and involved in a civil war but there was not one single incident. Unfortunately Canadians have seen images on TV of hordes of refugees swarming over Europe’s borders and confusing it with our procedures. Large groups of people often times do bad things such as the riots in Vancouver after a hockey game a few years ago and this had nothing to do with religion. Screening in Germany is very different than the extensive screening that happens to all refugees entering our great country because they are mandated under law in Europe to accept them when they show up, no matter what. In Alberta each year approx 80 people are killed by drunk drivers but none have ever been killed by terrorists. This is manufactured by desperate politicians to get votes when they knew they were behind in the polls and they lost control of it.
commented 2016-02-10 12:05:29 -0500
David Tremblay: If as you say: “They were contingency plans only…” Is it a good idea to place refugees of suspect origins on any Canadian army/air force base?

If only 13% of refugees (or 6,500 out of 50,000) have leanings towards ISIS, let alone be actual Islamist terrorists; is putting these individuals on Canadian army/air force bases where our military hardware is stored (guns, bombs, tanks, jet fighters, etc.), a good idea?

With all of them having cell phones, how hard could it be to take photos of our facilities and send them to enemy H.Q. in Iraq and Syria only to be used against us?

Albert Einstein once said: “The definition of insanity is being nice over and over again to someone who HATES you and then expect them to be nice in return.”

Well, he didn’t actually say the above, I did. He said something like it, but I’m sure you get the idea.
commented 2016-02-10 11:52:59 -0500
I work on one of these bases and can confirm that none of these claims are true. They were contingency plans only which our Base Commander described as “in the unlikely event of a major weather catastrophe we are prepared to temporarily house refugees for a few days”. Additionally all bases have been converting their chapels to multi faith institutions for the last decade, a move that started while your supreme leader Harper was in power. This is why Canadian media outlets have not been reporting this. It is not even close to the truth.
commented 2016-02-10 11:45:08 -0500
It seems obvious from the comments of Rebel viewers and also from comments in other media news sites that there is a very strong feeling across Canada ranging from bitter disappointment to personal hatred for Justin Trudeau. And although this criticism is very well deserved, I’m beginning to see that the true responsibility and/or accountability for the disastrous consequences of his selection, election and subsequent foolish behavior and decisions, rests as much and perhaps even more with the Executive of the National Liberal Party who’s apparent raison d’etre is to win elections purely to acquire power, and not to govern the Nation wisely. Some say “that’s just the way politics works” – or at least that’s what we have accepted for decades. The Liberal Party just excels at it.
The logical solution however to this growing potential destruction facing Canada from, for example, proponents of regional separation or outright civil war, might instead be the total remake of the current Federal Liberal Party, its culture and operation; an organization that no longer functions appropriately or effectively in today’s world. The Liberal Party is trapped in a political model that is patently dysfunctional and a throw back to distant times.
But changing a large organization’s inherent culture is usually impossible. The more successful alternative is to dissolve the current (Eastern Canada) Liberal Party and somehow create a New Canadian Liberal Party. But just congratulating themselves because they are in power is exactly what they shouldn’t be doing. That will only increase the likelihood of the country’s demise. Too bad what needs to be done will never happen without constructive Leadership.
commented 2016-02-10 10:46:16 -0500
The Liberals are certainly signalling that they have little or no regard for the military. ISIL must be falling all over itself at the opportunities that are being presented. Is it any wonder we are not included in any serious military discussion with our allies. Who can trust the Canadian government or take them seriously when the integrity and security of military bases and personnel are disregarded in such a manner. Who will join the military or stay in the military? What does the government expect personnel to do when cultures collide? As for the military jets; Trudeau spends so much time and money on his own jet; one wonders what Paris was all about in the first place. But thanks Justin for putting more men and women into harms way. You’re an idiot.
