Where will "second-tier Canadian journalists" go now that Al Jazeera America is gone?

Rebel Staff

Normally I don’t express joy when a media organization shuts down, even one whose views I strongly disagree with.

But Al Jazeera is not a real journalistic organization. It is owned by the dictatorship of Qatar, an OPEC emirate.

Two years ago, they spent half a billion dollars buying an American branch — Al Jazeera America. It started out as CBC Newsworld International; that was then bought by Al Gore and turned into Current TV; that was then sold to Al Jazeera for a whopping half a billion dollars.

Al Gore became one of America’s richest men by taking money from an oil dictatorship.  What a hypocrite.

Qatar’s dictators spent an unfathomable two billion dollars on the channel, including paying cable companies to carry them.

But on any given day, they’d be lucky to get 50,000 viewers. We have more than that here at the Rebel. And, yeah, we didn’t need two billion dollars for it.

A lot of people got rich off Al Jazeera America: Al Gore, and second-tier Canadian journalists like Ali Velshi, Avi Lewis and Tony Burman. Those last two came from the CBC.

Think about that — what it means that our state broadcaster was a perfect farm team for Qatar’s state broadcaster!

Around this time last year, the mainstream canadian media were cheering the demise of the Sun News Network. I watch this video, and I see Ezra cheering the demise of Al Jazeera America.

Michael and Yannie. Do you guys see yourself as reasonable ppl? Fair minded? Objective perhaps?
Good, I thought you’d say yes. But to prove it, give us some critique of msm . . . .

I asked Bell Satellite TV to block CBC and CTV and I got about $50 off of my monthly TV bill. Just threaten to cancel your TV and watch them jump. Yes, there is something that you can do about the CBC.

Oh no. Where is CBC going to scoop it’s anti-Semitic content from now. o.O

Justin’s diary, I am still shaking my head. The economy was officially still in good shape by the time of the election. We now see China stumbling so that will change. But how did Justin win during a decent economy? It wasn’t a stellar performance but by the new standards of how the world is now, it was not half bad. You can’t blame it on the oil collapse because most voters, particularly in Ontario don’t even know Canada is regarded as a petroleum economy, so I don’t see that as the factor.

Great news to hear this hate network is done. It really only had 50,000 for Al Jazeera international? I’d love to hear the same about the CBC. Where will they go? Maybe the anti-semitic BBC?

Terry Black – junior would never have been elected if it wasn’t for the UN, the CBC, and all the unions, including all 100+ MSM unions, who are receiving money illegally from the terror cell the UN.

Terry Black, I’m with you on that.
It might have made sense in the days of yore before the internet and limited media options, to promote Canadian-centric news.
But not now.
The government sponsored media’s modus operandi is to mollycoddle the hand that feeds (gov subsidies).
We need to hasten the demise of that stodgy media dinosaur.

Good riddens’ to bad rubbish and Communist/Marxist/Sharia propaganda, good!
Next order of Business should be to sell the CBC they are not Broadcasting on taxpayers like myself’s approval they Broadcast against my interests as they are Leftist slanted with heavy bias, why should I have to pay for ideology that is against and opposed to mine?

I had friends work for Al Jazeera, which had far less bias than Rebel Media. It angers me that Ezra is pissing on a media corpse. May Rebel Media get crushed by its own arrogance!

Al Jazeera, who needs that BS. Another on line feed to beware of, is ‘Sky News’, extreme left and pro Muslim bias abounds. Though I have no proof, I have herd that it is funded by Middle Eastern sources. Good for world news and usually has camera’s on the spot for breaking news.

Haha, Al Bore, and his flock of sheeple; who love getting that little rub behind the ear from their Shepherd Messiah, and Savior of the Earth. Your Climate Prophet Al Gore doesn’t even believe the drivel and tripe he evangelizes; he’s more busy striking avaricious Faustian pacts with your Chimerical Fossil Fuel Beelzebubs. :)

Ali Lewis, Stephen Lewis’ son, is out of another job. Things were looking up for him, especially after his gigs at MuchMusic and CBCNewsworld fell apart. I guess he’s going to be living off of his wife, Naomi Klein, for a while. Bad break, old man.

They probably have enough options to work elsewhere – so don’t worry about them knocking on your door Ezra at the bottom of the barrel The Rebel, where everyone comes to work when they can’t get real media jobs.
commented 2016-01-18 12:57:30 -0500
They’ll go to CBC or MSNBC or CNN of course, these are state propaganda vehicles subsidized by the state to sell agendas to the zombie vote – and they are make work projects for unemployable SJWs posing as journalists. With PM Sonnywaze subsudizing his propaganda mill another billion or so they can afford to hire ex Al Jazeera talking heads – hell, CBC has been in direct competition with Al Jazeera as a islamist propaganda wing, might as well make it official and bring their masthead on board.

Sunny ways Akbar!

Easy. CBC where they always go. CBC is a pandering organization. Notice how most of their presenters are not white anymore? It’s because they have “affirmative action” because it’s 2016. They are the first ones to hire based on skin color all the while denouncing those that don’t but just happen to get a majority white faces. CBC is pathetic and where pathetic journalists go.

Dear Diary;
One year ago, two out of three Canadians thought the economy was doing well.
Today, two out of three describe the economy as poor.
And yet, last week an Abacus Data poll shows more than 50% of Canadians approve of my government, and even more rate my glorious leadership positively. It’s true, sunny ways. Stevie must get pissed when he reads that.
Anyway, love me or hate me, I don’t really care. But I always say that it’s never to early, and it’s also never too late, to reward the peons (honest, I mean people, damn auto-correct) that helped you to get to where you are.
So Gerald is letting me announce that a couple of my pals will become my important ambassadors; David MacNaughton will be my ambassador to my spiritual leader and Islamic advisor in Washington, and Marc-André Blanchard will become my ambassador to our political Masters at the U.N.
That’s enough talk about other people, lets get this diary back to being all about me.
When I promised to start kicking the economy I didn’t really have a plan. After all, back then in Stevie’s day there was nothing really wrong with it. That was just something I said to justify spending a lot of money. But now someone might notice that it’s gone into the toilet just since I took over the reigns of power. So to come up with a plan, Gerald’s booked a room for us somewhere out east where we can put our heads together and maybe come up with something.
