Alberta NDP's drastic cuts to agriculture: “Payback” for Bill 6 opposition?

Sheila Gunn ReidRebel Commentator

The NDP are cutting funding to Agriculture and Forestry boards and commissions by $36M with the brunt of those cuts coming from dissolving dozens of Agriculture industry specific boards and commissions.

In total, 26 Agriculture agencies, boards and commissions are being amalgamated into a broad based 'super-board'.

Within those cancellations, the NDP have terminated the Farm Safety Advisory Council. By eliminating this we have further confirmation that the NDP were never concerned about safety of farm workers and families when they drafted Bill 6 with the advice of the Alberta Federation of Labour. They were concerned about handing over thousands of Alberta farms to their union pals.

The dissolution of these agricultural boards is far more than what the NDP is selling it as. They are selling this as a streamlining of the Ministry. It isn't. It's a purge. It's a purge of the Progressive Conservative and Wildrose loyalists who sit on those boards. Oneil Carlier reviewed the membership and didn't like what he saw.

This is payback, you pesky farmers. It's payback for fighting back when the NDP tried to control your farms. It’s payback for your rallies. It’s payback for your petitions. It's payback for all those tough questions you asked that the NDP couldn’t answer. Farmers did not comply, so the NDP are going to hurt farmers businesses.

This is a systematic dismantling of a network that was created to protect farmers, and now it's gone.

This is how spiteful the NPD are.

Keith Barnes re: your comment
Five years ago most including myself would have questioned the sanity of your comment. I certainly would have cast it off along with the numerous conspiracy theories that abound on the internet.
However today, there is just too much co-ordination around the world to bring down what we call Western Civilization and Capitalism. The open borders in Europe . A totally open border between United States and Mexico . Trudeau welcoming refugees by the thousands, those who have no intention or desire to integrate into our society and culture. Economic policies that have no end other than to turn thriving economies into wastelands like Venezuela , ravaged by 200% inflation.
We have elected the worst of the worst in Canada and abroad. Merkel , Cameron ,Wynne , Notley and the biggest dupe Trudeau.
The Canada we knew is going , going hopefully not gone!

Hitting the NDP where they will really hurt is essential to disposing of them.

Destroying them – life and limb – will be more effective that puny little boycotts and what other nonsense the opposition has in mind.

Remind Notley that if she wishes to govern, her party will have to pay the price to do so. Blood.

I have envisioned armed revolts in Alberta and even Sask in the future. History has a tendency to repeat itself. It just repeats itself in different locations. That’s all. But when you threaten the way of life and the livelihood of a large group of people they could become militant. No one wants to see it happen but you can only push people so far.

Time to sell off the cattle and sit on the land – let someone else feed the crowd.

DARYL HERMAN;
There are many more similarities between Canadians and Americans than differences, and similarities in how we the people are being fenced in and abused by the powers that be, so in fact your link is very pertinent – if not a little scary in it’s implications.

The hammer is falling on the West and between those who neither know, nor care and those who are enabling it, we are toast.
Ugliness that the West hasn’t seen for decades is coming to the West. Those of us who were terrified by the Katrina and High River gun-grabs and their implications, are not in the majority.
Do these fascists not know what happens when you push a man into a corner? Or is that the plan…

Notley has seen nothing yet, there will be more protests, likely some will get ugly, as they will never listen to the unwashed masses. High taxes, huge debt, degraded credit, great job ndp whats next.

Sheila, as a libertarian you can understand where I stand on this. I absolutely agree with the cancellation but I suspect that this is not a reduction of government involvement but just a realignment for a new bunch of government subsidized hacks.

I wonder, in 4years if they d r a g it out , will it be hard and very costly to untangle

This is more than just revenge on the Farmers. Notley is going along with her Marxist friends in the UN, She is helping them to cripple Canada to a point of no return.

The Marxist want a free range for their Muslim friends. Notley is helping them by forcing the Farmers off their land.

North America is fast becoming ‘The Planet of the Apes’.

Compliments of Notley and her Marxist play mates, along with Emperor Justes Trudus.

This is why they are trying to disarm the population. They do not know how many guns are in Canada, and they never will.

Notley isn’t going to live long enough for a next election. What the hell is she going to eat? Who the hell would sell her anything?

Heil Notley – the war on Alberta by Notley continues.

Notley needs to be eradicated.

Fraser McBurney, there is no rule of law or justice in Alberta, or Canada. So that is pointless. The NDP would just drag it on and on until Alberta was another 38bil in the hole.

I’ll just bet that Rachel won’t be calling an election in 3-years. They are going to go with the scheduled dates, which would add another year on. Just watch!

I truly don’t think it is wise for the NDP to push Albertans this extent. I would not be surprised if the ended up suffering blow back.

Three more years and then they get their payback. If the new government that will be elected in three years they should launch a criminal investigation into this NDP government. Charges like wilful dis regard for the public good, miss use of government agencies
