Study "proving" Ottawa's political sexism is agenda-driven, biased

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

A new study purports to show that Ottawa municipal politics is a cesspool of sexism because men outnumber women in certain positions.

The study was put out by the "progressive," union funded Centre for Policy Alternatives, so it isn't surprising that these findings are the result of statistical cherrypicking.

What about other statistics that show that women make up the majority of Canadian teachers, HR departments and nurses.

Isn't that sexism? Or is it a matter of choice?

Glenn Craig – LOLOL. No, only you could come up with such a scheme.
commented 2015-07-19 16:40:06 -0400
Brian, you are right. It is indeed an agenda, but you should have named it—REDISTRIBUTION. i.e. More and bigger government!
commented 2015-07-18 18:53:27 -0400
It is a matter of choice, NOT sexism. This is just more feminist propaganda.

Joan you said " Listen, Glenn, the big bucks in mining are made by the owners, not the miners"……are you suggesting that their should be a quota of gold mine owners by gender based on expertise in gold digging?"…..:-)
commented 2015-07-17 23:41:46 -0400
Joan….nothing personal….consider it business.

Glenn Craig – you just couldn’t stay away, eh? I knew you loved me, even though you swore you’d never talk to me again. I’m just irresistible, I guess. So irresistible even Glenn Craig can’t abstain.

Listen, Glenn, the big bucks in mining are made by the owners, not the miners. You thought I was so stupid I’d agree with you, didn’t you? HA!

As for screwing on top, don’t you men like to be the bottom? Just joking, Glenn. I love you, you robbin’ hoodlum.

You know as well as I do that most human beings seek “the good life” – i.e., one with enough to eat, safe shelter, love and affection. Why shouldn’t women seek a good life just like the good life men seek?

Liza, I’m not counting. How many men are aborted in the womb because they are male? To answer your question, though, more male than female doctors, more male than female senators, more male than female law partners, more male than female mayors, more male than female tenured professors. But listen. Don’t worry about interrupting. We all know you enjoy a heated threesome …

Randy, interesting question about unions. I suspect more male than female union executives, just based on the fact that 10% of union executive are mob, and mob is traditionally patriarchal, no women members at all. But I don’t understand your question about teachers. Most teachers are women, it’s true, but they don’t get paid as much as some people think teachers should be paid, given they raise our children for 5-8 hours every week day of the school year. Teachers in Ontario are paid according to how long they’ve taught for a specific board, not based on their gender. However, there are more male than female principals and trustees.

Peter Netterville, again with the ad hominems. Yawn. Don’t you ever do anything original?

Nursing is a poorly-paid profession compared to doctoring. Now who looks stupid?

There are as many male dominated low paying jobs as low paying female dominated jobs. There are good paying jobs for everyone to aspire to.
There is equal opportunity in this country, in our cities. It is never for the weak of heart or thin skinned, but it is the reality.
The outcome is up to each individual, male or female.
I hate this made up war.
I know too many women who have gone there and made their own way, to swallow this really stale codswallop.

Joan said, “Women dominate in jobs that pay less.”

If you think nursing is a poorly paid job, then you really have a lot to learn.

This joke has a punchline…this is where the feminists took the logical conclusion of this false premis….in order to address this inequality there has to be a 30% “Man Tax”. This would provide the needed funding for universal day care…address the burden men’s criminal behaviour puts on the courts and corrections system….and provide the administration offices of battered women’s shelters with a much needed upgrade to mahogany furniture….after all the offices of the academics who dreamed this up already got theirs.

Now this is not a fixed income tax rate…..this is a surtax on your net after all other taxation.

The reason why they keep repeating this is a policy position…..if it can be shown by these statistics that women as a demographic class are disadvantaged…then the state in it’s role as Robin Hood becomes entitled to tax you like the Sheriff of Nottingham.

Just by the way…one of the hot beds of feminist academia that harps on this the University of Nottingham.

Joan how many women are paid quite a lot more then men? Like teachers! Here is Ontario they are paid I’ve been told the means is at 95 thousand!.
commented 2015-07-17 06:49:43 -0400
I wonder what the ratio of women to men in the upper echelons of the unions. Why did they not put out that Stat?
commented 2015-07-16 23:00:29 -0400
How many female senators, lawyers, municipal leaders, presidential candidates, doctors, plumbers, electricians, professors. I just don’t get this argument.
commented 2015-07-16 22:50:07 -0400
I actually know a woman who drives one of the mammoth trucks in the pit in the patch. She gets paid the same as any man because she was woman enough to go there.
commented 2015-07-16 22:45:04 -0400
How many women Premiers do we have
Not to interrupt.
Carry on Glenn and Joan.
commented 2015-07-16 22:14:45 -0400
Ok Joan…..women want and equal slice of the cake….providede it doe s not include the “crumy” part.

I call this “women seek wallet eee”……..:-)

What is your perspective on conscription equity?

Instead of chronic envy cracking the “glass ceiling” why not get out the old jack hammer and go for the concrete floor….as in mining for instance? Big bucks in digging for gold…and the miners….all male with not one exception that I am aware of…get showered and searched …in an invasive manner …after every shift….:-)

But women never have to get their…..hands….dirty when they dig for gold.

And Joan….don’t I wish I had the opportunity to screw my way to the top as I have seen others do.

Come on, Brian. Women dominate in jobs that pay less. How many women are in the privy council? Eh?

Slow news day, Bri?

Wow, just did a quick search on the Centre for Policy Alternatives… ironically, of the 50 or so that came up, the vast majority are women (90+%), except very ironically, a Board of Director, 2 Senior Economists and a Senior Editor… the only ’Señor’s’ to be found.

There is lots of content in my opinion.
I’d like to see more indepth, but know the Rebel is restricted somewhat by funds. As therebel.media grows that will change, and it will grow. It is an impressive alternative, and force, for such a young enterprise. I am grateful for it also. Anyone can contribute anytime. I see more advertising as well.

damn it I love this news site so much. I miss the Sun very much but as little content as compared to the Sun this site still has a lot more substance than the others.

Global news Edmonton picked up on this report and did a whole segment (with a straight face) on how Edmonton and Calgary are the most ‘unfriendly’ cities to live in if you are a woman.

More statistics, eh? Even Mark Twain said that there are “… lies, damned lies, and statistics.” Figures can be manipulated to “prove” anything you want — as we all know! (For example, the IPCC…)

MOAR women in the workplace and fewer men – not even sure what this buys you other than hiring MOAR useless people to do MOAR useless work and track MOAR useless data.

Yes, this is where Canadian productivity has gone – the land of the stupids.

Beam me up Scotty – this planet is running on full retard.

Ezra, and just look at our police forces, since they forced this sexist garbage on us! Most of our police forces are now just glorified security guards. They do not enforce the law equally, and this garbage is entrenched in our school system, all the way up to that kangaroo court, the SCOC. And that low life Tom Mulcair wants a national daycare, so that they can brainwash our children earlier. This is what Hitler did!
