The Ezra Levant Show: The Mansbridge-Liberal connection, Patrick Brown, Bombardier and more

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

A video has come to light showing Peter Mansbridge -- yes, the CBC's Peter Mansbridge -- officiating at the luxurious destination wedding of two Liberal Party elites.

I didn’t know that CBC journalists had the power to officiate at weddings, but there he was:

The objective, non-partisan anchor of Canada’s state broadcaster, the man we all trust to be neutral, to cover elections even-handedly — Mansbridge jetted to Italy to officiate at the wedding of Justin Trudeau’s communications director.

This puts a lot of things in a whole new light, like why certain commentators just happen to always show up on CBC panels.

Watch as I connect the dots between all these fancy Liberals and the CBC.

Then please sign our petition at

My guests tonight:

* Ontario PC Leader Patrick Brown, who talks with me about how Wynne's Liberals just keep getting it wrong

* Aaron Wudrick, the Director of Canadian Taxpayers Federation, on "corporate welfare bum" Bombardier's request for $1.3B in new subsidies

I'll also read some of our viewer feedback -- remember to keep it coming!

Guess what guys, I didn’t watch the video, my comments were based on direct quotes from the summary of the video, look up a bit and you’ll see it right there. In just a few paragraphs he’s already making nonsensical allegations that any high-school debater would have the skill to debunk (not you guys though obviously). That is what my comments were based on, if that summary is another of Ezra’s lies, don’t blame me.

Thanks Michael, Young Turks is a good example of the charmed left. They didn’t have to fight the CRTC. You can read about their beginnings here,

They too had paid subscribers, "As of August 2013, TYT had approximately 4,000 paying subscribers online.15 The website’s yearly revenue was roughly USD 3 million in 2013. According to Cenk Uygur, “about a third of the revenue comes from subscriptions, and the rest comes from YouTube ads.” The company has 30 employees.15 In 2014 the company received a US$4 million investment from Roemer, Robinson, Melville & Co., LLC, a private equity firm led by former Louisiana Governor Buddy Roemer.24 "

Thanks for being the voice of sanity in this insane Liberal world. We can now get news that is not sanitized by the likes of the TBC (Trudeau Broadcasting Corp.) Thanks to you we now know the depth of this incestuous relationship. Peter M. should be ashamed of himself. When I was watching his interview with JT – I was thinking that these two sure do act like a couple of buddies. Now I know. Just about made me puke. Remember folks – all we have to do is have a sunny outlook, and everything will be lovely in the garden. I guess the voters in Guatemala feel the same. They have just elected a comedian as their new president.

Anyone who asks"how did the Conservatives loose the election"? merely has to watch this story and the parts start to fall into place.

The biggest online news source in the world is The Young Turks. They built their empire on YouTube without charging money and now have what seems to be countless shows and content.

Micheal, I know you were talking to Peter, but I would be interested to know which online news sources provide entirely free information. I know some smaller and frankly little known ones do, but I am not familiar with any large news sources who are.

You are missing the point and I am not making a comparison to the CBC.

There are many very successful independent online news sources that don’t charge their readers for anything and any money that is given by readers/watchers is simply a donation. Content is never held back for anyone.

They became successful, because they were very good at what they do and were entertaining on top of that. I just don’t understand why they can’t follow that model, which has worked for so many other independent media sources that don’t have CBC money backing them.

Charging for content is a mistake that even established newspapers have learned. Even if it’s just for their main shows, I think it’s a mistake for The Rebel as well. It will not help The Rebel to be a competitive media source in Canada. Better to just have a monthly fee system for those that want to contribute financially like Canadaland has, but all content should be available to all.

The Rebel also needs to get a sponsor.

Hi Ezra,
Sam Young’s post says it all about the Rebel Media, any comment like that about a CBC hero, Trudeau, Mansbridge, would be blocked and removed. Like over 50% of mine are at the CBC. But here his comment remains for us to all read and admire the Rebel freedom of expression. Keep up the great work.

Hello, my name is Ezra Levant. I got exiled from Alberta and am now forced to pay the awful taxes and power bills in Ontario. I hate the CBC, the Liberals, Bombardier and corporate welfare? Will you please sign another one of my petitions?
As well, please donate to the rebel if you hate the same people I do. "

Michael Mann and Daniel Goorevitch, look at any big news site in the US. Some content is available for free, and if you want more in depth content you pay for it. It is a business model designed for growth, and growth is key. We want to see the Rebel get big enough to be a substantial counter to the left wing agenda. I can’t wait until the left has to start eating humble pie; when the Rebel really becomes a threat to the narrative they repeatedly and wrongly maintain is the view of “most” Canadians.

LLRFU, I was wondering the same thing regarding Monty’s post.

Great Show Ezra! Any contributions I may make are NSA.

Monty Bissett said; I asked you to do something for me if you wanted a much larger contribution to the cause

Really Monty?? Would anyone out there like to take a shot at explaining to Monty all that’s wrong with his post???

Ken, it would not have made any difference for Harper to stop the CBC funding (if that is a indeed what you mean by “fix the CBC”) because he would most certainly have lost the election because of it and the next government would just have reinstated the CBC funding. Is there some other way that Harper could have attempted to “fix” the CBC?
commented 2015-11-13 10:01:48 -0500
Steve Rivers, you missed the entire point. The whole point is that this deep connection should have been reveal to the public as the conflict of interest that it clearly was. The fact that Ezra may not have mentioned that Mansbridge is the godfather is just a piece of information that was not necessary to expose the close relationship that should have been public knowledge. That information only strengthens Ezra’s case. So Steve, there is no deception here on Ezra’s part as you are clearly saying.
commented 2015-11-13 09:55:38 -0500
Harper had a chance to fix the CBC but tried to finesse it instead. Look what it got him.

Michael Mann said, “I really don’t think The Rebel will be competitive with other media if you make people pay to view content. I think this will ultimately be a mistake.”

You do realize that what you see now, short video clips, news, columns, podcast, various satire, guests such as Gavin, and the Megaphone will all still be free?

It will be just the shows only that will be paid, so I don’t see too much of a problem. Now if they had an alternate revenue stream, such as over $1 Billion/year free from the government, then it could be a lot bigger and all free and it would be far better than the CBC, of that I am certain. However, the reality is that they have to grow as funds come in and they are doing brilliantly for a grass roots business.

Keep up the good work, Ezra, Brian and the team!

as usual, terrible journalism that leaves out some pretty important facts-wedding took place before Trudeau was even the leader of the libs, therefore before she worked for the libs, and peter mansbridge is apparently the godparent of the brides sister do obviously there’s a deep friendship and/or family connection….but it’s so much better the way you lay it out.

Another excellent show Ezra and The Rebel staff! It’ll be worth an $8/month subscription to continue to watch these shows every morning (it’s become part of my morning routine).

Now we know what Dion meant when he said “Liberals must return to power as soon as possible.” The corrupt relationship between business, media and elective office has made Canada a giantific midget.

Michael Mann below is right. Too few conservatives who have time for surfing to support this site. Advertising is your best option. And begging.

There are Liberal rules for the peasants, and then there are the Liberal rules for themselves. Liberals think of Canada as their own personal cash machine. Mansbridge thinks he’s above everyone because he’s a Liberal bootlicker. The state propaganda machine also thinks it gets to determine which are and aren’t conflicts. They certainly smeared PM Harper with anything they could dream up. It was sickening to watch and listen to. Peter, you are self absorbed just like the newbie PM, and I know your greed and lies will catch up with you. You lack integrity, as does everyone at the CBC, and the rest of the MSM that outright denied the public the truth, about this empty headed clown, that is now sitting in the top seat in Canada.

I am so disgusted by this story. It is unbelievable. Canadians are being used by the civil service and this government as suckers. I urge everyone to write or call the Liberal Party to express their outrage.

Bombardier share price on the OTC market is $1.05 – too cheap to be listed on the NYSE or NASDAQ – and practically a penny stock.

And Dunce Trudeau wants to drop $1B on this already failed company.

Nice job liberal voters – instead of paying for your home renovation, you get to pay for the liberal government instead.
