When you shop at the LCBO, you get Air Miles. So? Well, there are a few problems with that arrangement.
The LCBO brags about promoting "socially responsible drinking" -- but doesn't rewarding consumers the more booze they buy negate that?
Did you know that LCBO's Air Miles program costs them an estimated $20 million a year?
That means Loyalty One gets that money, rather than the provincial government, who could spend it on...
(Then again, maybe it's a good thing that money doesn't go to Kathleen Wynne...)
PLUS: The LCBO appears to be breaching the advertising guidelines of the Alcohol and Gaming Commission.
The rules say "buyers clubs" and similar initiatives are "unacceptable."
So how does the LCBO get away with having an Air Miles program?
