This expert says special taxes and other fee-based gun control measures "seem racist"

Gun control advocates in the U.S. and Canada realize they're getting nowhere at the federal level, so they've set their sights on passing new laws at the municipal one.

For example, Seattle has just voted unanimously to raise taxes on guns and bullets.

I spoke to renowned crime and gun control scholar John R. Lott, Jr. about this move to make gun ownership more trouble than it's worth.

Lott says these new fees especially hurt poor minorities who want firearms for self-defense.

And of course, gang members and other criminals aren't the ones who are going to pay these taxes.

PS: If you're American, you might be shocked when you see crime stats from "peaceful" Canada.

READ Brian Lilley's book CBC Exposed -- it's been called "the political book of the year.”

The High River gun grab violated every Canadian's civil liberties, and must never be repeated.

Well, I don’t think it’s racism, but there is systemic abuse and contempt for lawful firearms owning citizens. High River gave us a open window to the attitudes of politicians and police brass towards civilians who own firearms. They are viewed as second class citizens with no real rights – we can label them as dangerous or potential criminals with no evidence needed , we can break into their homes and destroy and steal property without warrant or repercussions , because hey, they’re “gun nuts” after all. Always under suspicion, always in need of the heavy jackboot of the police state on their neck or, – or – well, they’re gun nuts donchaknow.

It is the law-abiding hunter or target shooter who is under constant scapegoating and abuse by cynical politicians and police brass who hope to scapegoat gun owners for the problems they have with controlling real criminals. Anyone who can condone this political oppression of this group of normal citizens, bear in mind; if they can do it to them they can do it to you.

What in world do these people think. Guns or baseball bats or sticks or knives or rocks or anything else are going to be used if people are so inclined. The crazy’ swill never stop. And they want to make the population without defence. Damn dogooders need to stop.

I don’t think gun control has anything to do with safety, it has to do with banning all guns from the civilian population.
It might take fifty or hundred years for it to happen but when it does the civilian population is in trouble.
Criminals will still have guns and a defenseless population.
