Today in History: Paris liberated from the Nazis (1944)

John RobsonResident Historian

On August 25, 1944, Paris was liberated from the Nazis

Charles de Gaulle managed to spoil the mood with an ungrateful speech claiming the French had done it all themselves.

But let us not join in. Let us celebrate instead.

Keith’s comment below made me realize De Gaulle must be the father of the modern day Lib’s. To allow an invasion without any resistance or a shot fired is exactly what’s happening today as well through ALL Liberal democracies.

Prime Minister Pearson doesn’t get nearly enough credit for ripping de Gaulle a new one during his three day long insult tour of Canada in 1967. He said “The people of Canada are free. Every province in Canada is free. Canadians do not need to be liberated. Indeed, many thousands of Canadians gave their lives in two world wars in the liberation of France and other European countries.” Even the wet behind the ears Justice Minister Pierre Trudeau mused aloud about what the French reaction might be if a Canadian prime minister called out “Brittany for the Bretons.”
Today’s prime minister would have followed the vainglorious toff around clapping like a trained seal while waiting for his chance to snap another selfie.

Seeing what France/Paris has devolved to now, it wasn’t worth one life or ounce of effort by Canadians to free a people who love their servitude – to globalist tyrants and dhimmitude to invading barbaric Islamists.

De Gaulle was the one who came to Canada at one point and proclaimed “Vive La Quebec Libre!” A troublemaker from the get go!

Yes, the french cowards who sucked up to Hitler and let him take France without one shot fired in exchange for not bombing Paris.

Generals Eisenhower and Montgomery never trusted the french weasel DeGaulle as DeGaulle was strongly suspected of working with Hitler during the Allies attack after the D-Day landing.

Kinda reminds one of those ungrateful Cuck-bec weasels – must be in their DNA.

Recent events suggest France has learned nothing! They have all but capitulated to the Nazis of the 21st century…..Islam! WWIII is on the horizon coming closer with each passing day. Will it be necessary again for the youth of North America, Britain and Australia to to go bail out Europe from their follies?
