Toronto Star "white-splains" sex-ed curriculum to immigrant parents -- but gets its facts wrong!

Rebel Staff

The Media Party is struggling to cover the story of parents protesting the new Ontario sex-ed curriculum, because it doesn't fit their old narrative.

The diverse ethnic groups who oppose the curriculum aren't the "white redneck bigots" they are used to reporting on, so the Toronto Star in particular is having a hard time.

As we reported this morning, the Star stuck some clumsy editorializing into what should have been an objective news story, when they patronizingly pointed out that a Muslim mother didn't really understand the details of the sex-ed program.

Except that... the Star got its facts wrong in the process.

It's pretty funny, but keep watching to find out why I believe this curriculum is doomed.

Tell me if you agree with my theory in the comments!

Ontario’s sex-ed curriculum sexualizes young children, undermines parental authority and imposes the government's morality on every Ontario family.

@chuck Klosterman
You are so far off you’re “not even wrong”.
Clearly YOU have swallowed the whole “After the Ball” brainwashing agenda hook line and sinker.
“agendas that simply are not there. " !?
Ergo, you’re so blind that you cannot even see the agenda!! So obvious.
You even confess your own indoctrination scheduling – “I’ll continue doing my own research and reading the WSJ.”
So you foolishly think the WSJ is without bias, propaganda, lies, misinformation….? Wow.
Please. Take your own advice, “Take a course some time.” You have no idea.

The “gay” propaganda manual “After the Ball: How America will Conquer its fear and hatred of Gay’s in the 90’s” – still sold on amazon.com – was written in the late 70’s and publish in the early 80s as a radical “gay” strategy to brainwash the West using redefined words like “homophobia”, thereby making themselves the poor victims of “discrimination”, “intolerance”, etc. instead of WRONG, abnormal, perverse. They employed very obvious brainwashing and propaganda techniques, clearly seen in their book on how to market homosexuality.
Most of godless, irrational and unthinking America and Europe bought the bull, being too blind, and/or stupid, and ignorant to see the lies being sold like goods everywhere around them – Hollywood, unthinking and gullible reporters, magazines… It’s everywhere. That’s how propaganda works.

Homosexuals cannot reproduce their own kind – they MUST convert others. Thus the militant and very public proselytizing. All to sway public opinion using the Overton Window.

Their campaign to brainwash us was funded in part by the super rich fashion industry homos and part of the end goal was that of former NAMBLA, Disgusting. These fool politicians, journalists etc. are too stupid to even see how easily they were suckered.

Q: “homophobic”? Just one of the many words the gay radicals twisted to their own purposes. Is that something like claustrophobic, arachnophobic and a few dozens of other phobias I could mention?
If a phobia is in fact a psychological disorder or anomaly, then why do so many irrational unthinking folks treat people that are in fact ill, like they were actually stupid or guilty of discrimination, intolerance – all the key brainwashing words the gay radicals twisted to their own purposes?
Want to sell any particular evil ? Learn the marketing techniques from After the Ball, apply it with the Overton Window and if the public is as stupid and selfish as today they will eventually BUY it. Just like the latest fads.

It’s not just liberals, sadly. Even many others of much more conservative views and even some Christians have been duped by these high level marketing techniques.
Kirk and Madsen knew very well what they were doing, hence the title of their book – “After the Ball: How America will Conquer its fear and hatred of Gay’s in the 90’s”

Next up is PEDOPHILIA – the new “sexual orientation” see http://www.torontosun.com/comment/columnists/brian_lilley/2011/02/24/17400076.html?sms_ss=facebook&at_xt=4d7423f7251139ba%2C0, and then … necro, zoophilia, … where will it end?
Moral decadence has ALWAYS preceded the destruction of nations throughout history and Canada has already sold itself the bill of goods and put itself inline on the list of future demolished nations for sanctioning gay “marriage”, gay adoption and so on.
Time for a serious wake up call.

Ron, thanks for bringing that up, Kinsey was sick. There is no other way to say it. That influence should not be disregarded. Scary.
I hope those in her stable question standing behind this, hope you are right Ezra.

Meg, right you are, Ian says take your kid out for that class, but why should you have to, you pay large school taxes. The seepage into the entire curriculum is of concern to me. The indoctrination of children who don’t have parents who will protect them from this, as well as the indoctrination of kids who have parents who think it is just fine, is of concern to me. If we allow this type of interference, what will be next. Power lost is never fully regained. One step at a time, inch by inch towards an agenda we are not going to be comfortable with. It will spread province by province until the whole country is infected.

A desire to appear inclusive, and be politically correct OR the pushers of this agenda have issues we don’t want anywhere near our children. Both of these attitudes are at the expense of our most valued possessions. We are in possession of these kids until they are 18. Our responsibility not the governments.

Who else but the Rebel is reporting with the parents concerns up front and centre?

Bill Barber: Do you consider a 21 year old teacher, new graduate from university a “trained educational professional”? The Ontario Government won’t be hiring specialists to teach this subject, it will be ordinary teachers who have not had training in this area and who knows, maybe they have trouble discussing this subject with their own kids.

This video sums up everything wrong with partisan media. And yes, Ezra, your outlet is included in that.

The Rebel is far more concerned with presenting views contrary to what it deems liberal media than it is with reporting facts and providing well-rounded coverage. Yes, shoddy reporting should be criticized, but Ezra is grasping at straws here. The Star didn’t mess up. They simply did not cut deeper than necessary.

But here’s the kicker: First, Ezra criticizes the Star for correcting an interviewee (which is a normal journalistic practice. Take a course some time.). Then, he goes on to criticize them for not correcting the interviewee a second time. Contradictory, no? All while trying to stir up racial controversy citing agendas that simply are not there.

I voted Harper in the last election, and I’ll be voting for Harper in October. But the Rebel gives conservatism a bad reputation. It’s essentially FOX News for Canada. Still hoping for the day a real conservative publication arises in Canada. Until then, I’ll continue doing my own research and reading the WSJ.

When Wynne and fellow travelers are beaten back on this (they’ll say they relent) and they will be – people will foolishly think they’ve won something… you haven’t – unless you consider one step forward after six steps back is winning…
The cultural Marxist/inverse reality mindset of Wynne and her masters demands a constant pushing of the envelope of The People’s tolerance to having their basic rights eroded by the state.
That pendulum never swings back…

IAN STEPHENS, I agree with your observation, “As condescending as The Star may have been, I think you read the article wrong Ezra”. Like you, I read it to mean that The Star corrected the woman that the discussion of gender identity did not begin in Grade 1, but, rather, in Grade 8. However, I would contend that a lot of groundwork for that type of discussion was laid in the previous grades. As well, circumvented is the question of such “crazy” thinking with respect to gender identity being any more acceptable in Grade 8? While Ezra refers to six gender identities, note that those six appear in parenthetical text after “e.g.”; thus, Facebook allows at least 58+ gender identity options. By making such a correction, The Star, a well-kniwn apologist for the curriculum, is attempting to dismiss any objections the parents may have about the curriculum because of their ‘ignorance’ on a detail.
Ezra says, “Some people don’t want to learn Kathleen Wynne’s highly-politicized views. Personally, my problem with the curriculum is that it sexualizes children of a very young age”.
That view, however, does not conform with that of sexual-deviant Alfred Kinsey whose so-called ‘research’ done in the 1940s and 50s is the foundation for the extreme sex-ed programs that kids are being subjected to today. Often not understood, is that modern comprehensive sexuality education programs, such as that introduced in Ontario by Kathleen Wynne, are mostly based on fraudulent ‘science’ conducted by Alfred Kinsey purporting to show that children are sexual from birth and sexual behavior of all kinds are healthy and normal for children, adolescents, and adults. His presumption that children are sexual from birth – the same mindset found in the Ontario’s mandated sex-ed program – relates to his ‘studies’ having included the measurement of orgasms in young children and infants! That bares repeating: Kinsey’s ‘studies’ included the measurement of orgasms in young children and infants!
The Kinsey Reports are two books on human sexual behavior authored by Kinsey that laid the foundation for the sexual revolution un the 1960s. Consider the following disturbing perspective found in one of those reports: “It is difficult to understand why a child, except for its cultural conditioning, should be disturbed at having its genitalia touched, or disturbed at seeing the genitalia of other persons, or disturbed at even more specific sexual contacts… Adult contacts…are not likely to do the child any appreciable harm if the child’s parents do not become disturbed.”
Watch this excerpt from a documentary, The Kinsey Syndrome, showing Kinsey’s demented glee in showing young children a film of two porcupines engaged in a sexual act:

I absolutely agree Milan!
Our children are not to experimented on thank you, leave them alone!
This IS a grooming program and we know it, it has to be stopped.

If this mother (like the rest of us) was properly and respectfully CONSULTED by this Liberal Government, she would not have made that mistake. If there was nothing wrong with this ideological special-interest document, why the cloak of secrecy and dictatorial approach to the implementation of this ciricullum? Why? Because it is so extreme, so egregious that this will blow up very badly. Just a shame little children will be caught in the cross-fire.

Ian, as long as I do not have to pay in taxes to support the public school system, I will gladly keep my child out of the public school. Until then I am paying them to teach my child the basics NOT their personal/social views!
commented 2015-05-06 11:29:34 -0400
Meg, if you don’t want your kids to learn the curriculum, keep your kids home when the unit is taught. You can then teach your personal/social views of sex to your own children, rather than risk any teachers influencing your child’s sexual health.
commented 2015-05-06 11:09:52 -0400
I have been in the public school system in Ontario thanks, I strongly believe health & physical education belong in the schools but NOT the sex-ed, that, in my opinion, is for the parents to teach.
Teachers are NOT Co-Parents as some of them believe they are and therefore have no right to push their personal/social views of sex unto our children.
commented 2015-05-06 11:07:37 -0400
Why should “severely normal” parents care what a severely abnormal newspaper , The Toronto ‘Red’ Star, has to say on this matter?
commented 2015-05-06 10:57:27 -0400
I think we can do both Meg. Sex ed is not a daily class like science or math, but a small part of the health and physical education class—it’s not a new class. There’s been sex ed in the schools for decades; I don’t see removing it as a solution to declining standards.
commented 2015-05-06 10:38:49 -0400
Concerned parents are also paying out of pocket for tutors for their children to learn the basics like how to read, write & mathematics. Should we all do that or do we just simply put our foot down and demand better from the school system as a whole not just with the sex-ed part?
I, personally, think it is time to demand better for all of our children.

Looks like 70-90% of children are not going to school next September.

Meg, withdraw your children when sex-ed class is taught and teach them whatever you want. That’s what many concerned parents are planning on doing.

UN Convention on the rights of the child
“Parents or, as the case may be, legal guardians, have the primary responsibility for the upbringing and development of the child. The best interests of the child will be their basic concern.”

Quebec vs Loyola High School
At stake in this case was the religious freedom of parents and institutions to educate children according to a worldview that might be different than that of the State education bureaucracy. Thankfully, the Court was unanimous in finding that religious communities can teach their own faith to their children from their own perspective

Age of consent in Ontario is 16yrs old. Any teacher that teaches this SMUT to a child under the age of 16yrs old should be charged with grooming!
The Supreme Court of Canada and the UN Court have both said PARENTS have the final say in what happens to their own children.
In Ontario, we parents say NO to this Grooming 101 program. Period, end of discussion.

I disagree with Ezra that media should not correct false beliefs expressed by those they interview.

Ms Awah thinks the sex-ed curriculum teaches 6 year-olds diverse sexual identities. That is false. It does not.

I don’t think Wynne will blink in the sense of scrapping the changes to the sex-ed curriculum. If she is smart, she will organize a series of town halls in all protesting communities to go over, in detail, the changes made, how they will be taught, parents rights and how parents can influence how the curriculum is taught by meeting with boards and teachers.

Teachers are expected to teach the curriculum to meet the specific needs of the children in their care. So if they are teaching in a ganged-up hood, they may teach more specific details about how to stay safe than in other hoods.

The big problem Wynne created by not better consulting with parents is that it allowed enemies of democracy to write and spread falsehoods about the curriculum, including in Arabic, to appeal to and alarm Muslims, with a view to protecting their children from education in the laws of Canada that prohobit child abuses like FGM, child marriage, and honour killing and that prohibit human rights violations like gender segregation and denying girls equal education and opportunity.

Unfortunately for children, that propaganda was spread like wild fire by word of mouth from parent to parent to parent. Falsehoods hurt kids more than anything.

As condescending as The Star may have been, I think you read the article wrong Ezra. You quote The Star as saying “In fact, discussion of gender identity is mandatory only in Grade 8” in response to someone worried about introduction of three genders in Grade 1. You go on to say The Star is wrong in its rebuttal and that there are more than three genders discussed in Grade 8. Yet The Star never made the claim of three genders in Grade 8; the women they quoted did, and about Grade 1.

Here’s The Star article Ezra quotes: http://t.thestar.com/#/article/yourtoronto/education/2015/05/04/thousands-of-parents-keep-kids-home-from-school-in-sex-ed-protest.html

Milan Novakovic – “Ezra, I hope you are right – I hope the Ontario Liberals blink – but given who the Premier is, I do not hold as much hope as you do.”

I agree with you Milan. I think Wynn has her jaw set, her feet planted firmly in the ground, and her ears stuffed with cotton. She knows she has a majority and can do whatever she wants to do.

I hope these parents win because what happens in Ontario tends to filter to the other provinces and I do not want that curriculum in Alberta.
