A TV channel in Cambodia has apologized after it's Mother's Day prank when horribly wrong.

13-year-old Autumn Allen moved to Cambodia with her father when she was 6. She was told by the station she was about to meet her estranged mother.

On the show Penh Chet Ort, Allen told the show's presenter that her “dream to meet her mother would come true.

However, instead of meeting with her mother, who according to Channel 4, she had not seen in more than a decade, she was introduced to a crossdresser.

To Allen's credit, she appeared to keep it together despite the cruel joke.

After social media backlash, the station issued an apology.

What do you think? Did the show cross the line?

@ Fraser McBurney…my prayer too…these RESPONSES restore one’s hope in humanity…but we can see the madness and sociopathy of the media’s LUST to grab ATTENTION, at any cost, in this production…and weep. Anything for a show? God forbid. Just think and know that SOMEONE THOUGHT THIS WAS A GOOD IDEA! They need psychotherapy or something stronger…like assault charges. This was not less than a punch in the gut…no wonder all we talk about these days is abuse!

I can’t watch this kind of show. It’s heartless. Why would anyone dream this cruelty up?

For anybody (television show, personal acquaintance, co-worker, whoever) to judge whether some “prank” would “cross the line” or not, the person delivering the “prank” should ask him/herself this question: Would I want somebody doing this to me? If the answer is “no”, then the prank crosses the line. Somebody at the tv station didn’t think that far ahead.

Evidence that society is going downhill? Just check out what passes for news and entertainment that the masses obediently lap up.
