UK schools inspectorate can downgrade schools for Islamic face coverings

Rebel Staff

The UK's chief inspector of schools is offering his support to school and college leaders who decide to take a stand against the "inappropriate wearing of the veil".

Sir Michael Wilshaw has instructed his inspectors to "mark down" institutions where the "wearing of the veil is acting as a barrier to learning and to positive social interaction”.

His common sense intervention follows comments by the Prime Minister, David Cameron, and the Education Secretary, Nicky Morgan, last week, when they expressed their mutual support for the rights of public organizations to implement “sensible rules” on the issues of face coverings.

In the statement from Ofsted (Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills), published on Tuesday, Wilshaw said: “I am concerned that some heads and principals who are trying to restrict the wearing of the full veil in certain circumstances are coming under pressure from others to relax their policy. I want to assure these leaders that they can rely on my full backing for the stance they are taking.”

“I have also made clear to my inspectors that where leaders are condoning the wearing of the face veil by staff members or by pupils when this is clearly hindering communication and effective teaching, they should give consideration to judging the school as inadequate.”

“I am determined to ensure that discrimination, including on the grounds of gender, has no place in our classrooms. We want our schools, whether faith schools or non-faith schools, to prepare their pupils equally for life in 21st century Britain.”

A Department for Education spokesman told the BBC: “We fully support" the message from Sir Michael that head teachers who "restrict the wearing of the veil to support effective teaching and learning will receive Ofsted’s backing”.

“It is also clearly right that if the wearing of the veil is interfering with education in schools that should trigger action from Ofsted.”

Mark Sutherland…if the Islamic schools get Government funding, the curriculae, and practises MUST be reviewed…and, if found to be outside of the laws of the country, the schools must be closed.

They say they’re trying to make sure that kids are prepared for 21st century Britain by not having them wear veils.

From the look of things, if they don’t start really pushing Islam out of Britain, those veils are going to be a normal part of 21st century Britain.

I hope they manage to get control of their country back, and ensure that the UK is English and not Arabic and Islamic, I just don’t see it happening with the trend of Arabic and Islamic population rising the way it is.

I’d say to anyone, that if they want to see Europe in general as it is and was, go as soon as possible. In 30 years, Europe won’t be Europe anymore unless they have a civil war, or the Right Wing wins the elections in every country and forcibly removes ‘Islam’ and all of it’s evils from their countries. Mass deportations, and a ban on Islam as a cult, would be the best and only way I can think of to protect their heritage, in the UK and Europe.

Good. We kicked the cross out of our schools it’s time we kicked out this symbol of oppression. Glad someone in Britain has some sense.

I should say on one hand that in a private Muslim school they should be fully entitled to wear whichever religious item they wish without being judged or in any way reprimanded. If they wish to have that policy and there’s full cultural understanding towards it, then so be it. But I fully support this policy in public schools, as it will bring conflict and doubt upon those who agree to such repression.

Very slowly things are starting to shift away from a Stephen King book back to some sense of reason …….not much yet but just little glimpses at a time … Common sense just needs a little foothold and maybe we can get this masterpiece back on track …. You know where the good starts to outshine the evil and idiotic.
