Did you watch the Hip’s last show on Saturday? It was a beautiful goodbye from Gord and the boys that likely left Canadians from coast to coast wet eyed by the end of their epic performance in their hometown of Kingston, Ontario.
Sadly, the night was hijacked by the Prime Minister. He made it known to the whole country in advance that he was attending then paraded into the venue in front of the press ensuring he had an exclusive interview with the CBC’s Ron MacLean, even buying himself a Canadian Tuxedo for the event. How fake.
I don’t have a problem with the PM attending an event like this, or even taking vacations but when you see how much vacation time he’s taken in his first ten months, it becomes a concern especially given recent job numbers and his delayed response to the terrorist event in Strathroy.
The optics have been terrible and they continued down that path on Saturday.
Watch as I explain the many ways the PM managed to hog the spotlight on an evening that was meant for all Canadians to share their final memory of Gord.
What was stopping Justin and his entourage from attending one of the other shows across the country in bigger arenas?
Well, that would have come with little fanfare and wouldn’t allow him to virtue signal to the whole country in his Canadian Tuxedo if the CBC weren’t there for the exclusive.
