Vancouver Mayor wants to commit economic suicide -- tells Liberals say “No” to Kinder Morgan expansion

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Vancouver’s Mayor Gregor Robertson is a far left politician with a substantial hold on municipal politics in the city. He came to Ottawa recently to tell the government to give a definitive “no” to the Kinder Morgan expansion, regardless of what the National Energy Board has said.

Contrary to the evidence, Robertson believes Vancouver’s economy is all about being “green” when the facts show that one of the biggest economic drivers is the activity related to natural resources in the Port of Vancouver.

Watch as I provide the facts that show that Robertson is mistaken in his belief that unicorns and fairy dust power everything in Vancouver.

So far, Natural Resource Minister Jim Carr seems to think he’s under some obligation to be swayed by Robertson’s fantasies instead of listening to the NEB, demonstrating once again that the left are very selective when they accuse conservatives of not listening to the experts.

While we’re so busy protecting the environment against future Big Oil catastrophe (because we all know Big Oil doesn’t care about what pipe they put in…um, well, notwithstanding leaks = lost profit, in addition to the outlay of fresh capital to rectify, in addition to fines and scathing tirades from Suzuki the Senile), there’s a far more deadly risk on the horizon.

I demand that Vancouver and environs be shut down and moved 100 miles inland. Lock, stock and barrel.

Yes, based on the Greenies’ propensity to base planning on catastrophic events regardless of actual occurrence, it seems to me to be much more certain that Vancouver (and all its lead, asbestos, chemicals, metals, bunker oil, etc.) will cause massive toxicity to the ocean, orcas and otters when the BIG ONE finally hits and large chunks of Vancouver’s component parts float out to sea.

To avoid that, the city has to move, while there’s still time. As Greenies, I know you’ll all understand. Thank you.

His girlfriend has money and mayor moonbeam is brainless. As costs rise from a lack of provincial income Moonbeam will be somewhere else enjoying his life…paid for by the BC tax payer…and his girlfriend. Vancouver lefties voted for him. Not BC. Not Canada.

This is the guy that openly wept in front of the cameras and apologized for being a bad mayor during his last term and then begged to be reelected in the next sentence. We could stop electing crazy people if someone sane would run.

Vancouver sits atop a subduction zone with a verifiable history of massive devastating earthquakes on the average of about 248 years. The last big one was 316 years ago. But Moonbeam has little time to address this grim reality because he’s too busy screeching and squawking about a ship that leaked a bit fuel oil into English Bay a few years ago.
Keep acting like you’re the gatekeeper of Canada, Mr. Robertson. I guess the rest of Canada will just have to wait for Mother Nature to relocate the gate.

So how exactly does Vancouver have a “green” economy? Show me the dollars and cents. I keep hearing all of these feel good statements but there is never any substantiation associated with the claims. I think the green economy only exists in the pockets of those espousing the benefits.

Mayor Moonbeam is a moron . . . funded by Tides USA and the Rockerfeller Foundation.
The KM pipeline is NOT even in Vancouver . . . it runs through Burnaby!
Gregor has turned his own street into a Bike Lane . . . reality and Gregor have never met.

The province is building a bridge to replace the Tunnel . . . . once complete large ships will be able to access the south arm of the Fraser . . . watch for the Burrard Inlet ports to move south . . . much closer to the ocean and improved rail and highway access.

Robertson is another Progressivist-Sodomite who is trying to get his own way at the expense of everyone else.

Good.

The more active these people are, the more harm they will cause. Western Canada is be isolated and ripe for the picking.

Annexed by the US, Western Canada will enjoy all the benefits of the US, including freer access to the US common market, fewer barriers to trade, and a really strong capitalist ethic. Alberta’s bitumen will become America’s bitumen and far more valuable as a result.

Egil – I guess he’s just another homegrown traitor then. It seems there’s a liar under every rock these days. He is definitely being paid to destroy Canada. The list of those who will be going hell, is getting longer by the day. Traitor’s one and all, and in the end, the traitors will have to answer for their behaviour.

Deborah Graupner, you would think but he is home grown, born in North Vancouver. I don’t even think Washington State would grow such a radical environmentalist.

I heard this guy is from the US. Can anyone confirm this?

I am still waiting to see an increase in our exports (wealth creation for the Nation). I keep hearing about green jobs and I can see that some jobs are generated in building a green power supply but then what? There will be no wealth creation except to a few individuals who have an investment in the industry.

The problem as I see it is there is no economic counter argument to the green jobs argument. The right is doing a piss poor job but, maybe, they are not so sure about their position? Listening to some conservative politicians you might confuse them as being NDP in policy when it comes to the development of our natural resources.

To be clear, Vancouver is a municipality of which Robertson has jurisdiction on municipal affairs.. property taxes, utilities. The KM pipeline terminates in Burnaby, the municipality to the East of Vancouver. Tankers loaded in Burnaby go in and out through the inlet and depending on which side of the water they are on, they might not ever enter Vancouver.. at most, a tanker would skirt the very edge of Vancouver for perhaps about 5 miles. The entire affair is beyond Robertson’s mandate and jurisdiction. It is even debatable if the pipeline has any impact on the city of Vancouver…. he is clearly out of line and out of order.

I’ve said for months now the simple solution is to shut off the taps at the Alberta-BC border. Fuck the refinery in Burnaby, cut off truck and train deliveries of crude, impose tariffs on any goods WE deem dangerous that come east into Alberta from BC ( to throw some sand into blackmailing Christy Clark’s eyes), and lets see how Gregor the Green Slime’s green economy works then. We could set up a betting pool to see how quickly their tune would change.

As for Sean Penson, seems like he burped up a “taste” of Gregor in his last post. I guess with Sean strolling East Hastings and other streets in the area, it was only a matter of time before the two hooked up for a “fait complit”. I hope latex was not involved, how would Gregor explain that. Or did you guys go green and use sheep’s intentestines.

DJBT and the rest

Sean, is Victoria still dumping raw waste on the killer whales? Just wondering.
commented 2016-06-09 01:48:55 -0400
Daryl better be careful Sean will tell his mom on you.
commented 2016-06-09 00:54:15 -0400
Piss on you Vancouver – hope you slide into the Pacific when the BIG one hits!! Make sure Sean is with you! If it weren’t for inland resources you’d still be a failing China-town slum!! Hell will freeze over before I ever step foot into your crime ridden – heroin addicted stinky city again!! ..and also because you house people like Sean.

And as for Sean – bend over – the pipe is going to be inserted – better had move to China – ‘cause I just know your belly can’t handle the load!! …But now that we know were you are – it’s not difficult to understand why your head is so far up your arse – you just can’t see reality!!

Robertson’s election campaigns have been largely funded by money from the U.S.A., which doesn’t want Canadian oil getting to tidewater, so it can continue buying it on the cheap. You get the government Americans pay for.
commented 2016-06-09 00:20:06 -0400
Sean….like I said, we should turn off the taps for the summer, have an extended vacay. If you don’t want it going through Vancouver we should completely abide by your wishes, and make sure it doesn’t even reach Vancouver. Not even for your domestic use.
In return though, I don’t want any trucks / trains spewing pollutants in Alberta as they carry goods originating from the Port of Vancouver through to the rest of the country, so if you’d kindly get Gregor to stop sending them this way I’d appreciate it.
There’s a good chap.

Jeeez Brian,
pretty tough on a guy with such nice hair.
Is that all it takes, what’s on top of the skull, and not what’s inside.
So glad I’m on the back nine.

Robertson is as vacant as he looks. Completely bereft of critical thought. His campaign line was, ‘I know I did a crappy job last term, but if you’ll give me another chance I promise……’ The guy is a moron. He has no clue how the country works, let alone the province or even his city, if he thinks Van’s economy is good because of green. Laughable.
I think he’s a guy. But he might be trans. He is a nancy moron at best.

Sure Penson, Gregor the Gobbler is on the take like all the pedo lefties. A swift dose of economic reality would cure the rest of the hypocrites. Now run along loser.

At least my mayor speaks for a strong plurality of British Columbians.

With opposition in Ontario and Quebec, and First Nations in opposition, there is no place to go.

Don’t say south, because President H. Clinton will block it.

When the Unions shut down the port, who is the first one to demand back to work legislation? The Mayor of Bancouver?

We should hire some private investigators and start following some of these lunatics around. The stakes are getting higher all the time, and would nice to be able to work and earn a living, so that we can eat. Under these narcissistic psychopaths, we will look like Venezuela very soon!

Turn off the taps for a month; give all employees a nice break in the summer. It will save the industry in G&A costs, helping the bottom line, and it will be instructive to governments at all levels just what it means to rely solely on “green” power. (Sorry, “green” does not = hydro; that permanently destroys native habitat without any reclamation potential.)

Oh, by the way, does Gregor use any car / jet or possess anything plastic, aside from his personality?

The persistent question in my mind is always going to be is there someone paying him in the background who has made him sign an oath of secrecy. How will we ever know if there is an offshore back account sitting in a foreign country with a nice load of cash waiting for him that we will never know about.

Why are most political leaders in major cities Leftists?
