Multiculturalism and left-wing politics are infecting the funeral of Mia Ayliffe-Chung, the British backpacker who was stabbed in Australia by a Muslim who allegedly chanted Allahu Akbar.
Mia’s mother, Rosie Ayliffe, says reading from the Koran has been included in the funeral service to distance the murder from the suggestion it was terror-related.
No matter how you slice it though, a Muslim is accused of killing her and chanting Allahu Akbar when he carried out the attack. Islam does indeed play a factor in the story of her death.

Mia's mom added that the funeral will draw on a range of religions to create a “multi-faith funeral” reminiscent of her life.
“After talking about the misrepresentation of Mia’s death in the media as an act of terrorism on the part of an Islamic fundamentalist, the minister delivering the service suggested we include a Koranic reading, and he will find something suitable with a friend who is an Islamic scholar. I’m hoping this will be read by a friend of Mia’s,” she wrote in a blog at The Independent.

Smail Ayad stabbed Mia multiple times in the attack. A second victim, 30-year-old Tom Jackson died after receiving 15 stabs to the face in an effort to stop the attack. A dog was also killed, while a third man sustained non-life threatening injuries.
Queensland Police Service Deputy Commissioner Steve Gollschewski stated that, “Initial inquiries indicate that comments which may be construed of being of an extremist nature were made by the alleged offender.”
However, he added that he “appears to have acted alone”.
SOUND OFF: If one of your loved ones was killed by an Islamist who shouted Allahu Akbar, would you want the Koran read at their funeral?
