WATCH: Rob "F*** Harper" Wells is a free speech hypocrite -- and so are his defenders on the Left

Rebel Staff

An Edmonton man named Rob Wells has been fined for having a large, foul-mouthed anti-Harper sign stuck to his car's rear view mirror.

(Language and content warning:)

Around the city, Wells is a well-known crank and attention hound.

He's a lot like the late Fred Phelps, the self-styled "Baptist" pastor (and member of the Democratic Party) whose "church" picketed funerals.

The media and liberals in general are defending Wells' right to free speech.

They think children wearing "F*** Stephen Harper" t-shirts are cute, too.

But weren't these the same people hounding #FHRITP shouters out of jobs, and denouncing Phelps' behaviour?

I believe that what Rob Wells is doing shouldn't be against the law, even though I have a history with Wells.

He believes in free speech for himself, but not for other people -- including me.

Watch to learn more!

Isn’t it the Left that love to say – free speech isn’t free of consequences? Isn’t that right Jimmy? So what consequence do you think he should suffer Jimmy? Don’t say none – common! There has to be consequences – your side said so. Say, you’re not a hypocrite are you? Well if not, then tell us what consequence Rob Wells should suffer. He seems to agree with me, as he meats it out against others. So there’s no issue – right Jimmy?

Christian’s made the best point here yet. Conservatives hate ideas that are bad, but socialists hate people they think have bad ideas. Big difference. The exceptions to this rule can be found here, at least the right wingers who hate (Vlad, etc.) But the rule is fairly consistent, at least as far as I can tell. Nobody’s driving around with a Fuck Trudeau or whatever sign, are they? And Jimmy, the NP isn’t conservative. I think it’s fair to allow conservatives to identify their newspapers, and that aint one of them. And Atwood’s big censorship scandal – not. Just about the most minor issue possible. But then again, maybe as a leftist you could make that into a national headline, just like Duffy. Ezra, your “fuckmobile” label, hilarious!

Very good example of how us conservatives view liberals simply as people with bad ideas, whereas liberals tend to view conservatives as bad people.

There is another four letter word, with Latin roots, that, in it’s plural form aptly describes the Left Wing. It begins with a ‘C’.

I would say F*** Wynne, but ewwwww, maybe the proper tag should be F*** Wynne’s policies. She appears to be Rae on steroids. Just visit the ministry of labour site to see the new crap being imposed on small businesses come 2016. We, in Ontario, have become revenue tools, unless you are fortunate enough to be a taker( government employee) as opposed to a maker(private sector) who makes the economy grow. Last person out of Ontario, please turn out the lights. Crap, they are already out because we can’t afford the electricity prices.

The feeling is starting to wane, maybe I am just becoming numb about it all, but I am often left in a state of incomprehensible shock by the ‘left " and their idea that they have these enlightened ’open minds’ and believe so passionately in the ideals of democracy and free speech. I see the underlying currents of entitlement and judgement in their actions and the way they speak. Somehow, they feel like since the conservatives have been in as PM for nearly 10 years (Cons v. 2006), that we as Canadians need to be shaken awake. The fact that the ‘left’ thinks the ‘right’ are just a bunch of mouth-breathing sheep that are just following blindly like lemmings, is an insult to Canadians. Could it be that most Canadians simply don’t want to pay higher taxes? Or maybe that Canadians would like to have less government involvement in their lives? The idea that it has to be ANYONE but the current party is irresponsible and short sighted. On a global scale, Canada has been elevated to superstar status, can this really happen with leaders at the helm who are buffoons, as we are lead to believe from the media? Get off your orange, blue or red soapbox and take a few steps back to see what’s really going on. I suppose the left conspiracy theorists will jump all over that with Duffy scandal news reports and right thinking Canadians will be quick to counter with the current NDP $2.7M investigation and the red guys can’t say much because we know our leader isn’t really the right guy to lead anyone. If you look globally, Canada is standing head and shoulders above all but 4 nations. Like it or not, the current leadership, with all of the chinks in their armor, are still the best choice right now.

Peter, that is the best response. Hope you don’t get offended at my suggesting that. Still would like to see that hot rod of yours should I come to Edmonton.

I drove by after my night shift at 3:30 am. There is his car sitting right out on 107ave and111 St with the sign still in the back window. I just couldn’t do it even though no one is around. I thought “what a pathetic loser, living in an apartment in the shittiest part of town”. I guess he’s angry about his no future life and needs someone to blame. I’ve had the best ten years of my career recently, until the NDP came along but I’ll survive by the grace of God. My $600000 house is half equity, and his car isn’t worth half as much as any of my 3. I’ll leave him until he comes to my neighbourhood, doubtful he can afford the gas to get up the hill. What a loser to have this for a mission. I’m gonna make a prayer for him instead.

I agree with Peter… The National Post has been “chasing left” for about a year now, maybe in some faint hope op picking up readership from The Mop And Pail… First of all Jonathon Kay veered left and his editing of letters to the editor became quite obvious to those of use who used to write to the NP regularly, i.e. heavy censorship… Now he’s at The Walrus but thank God his mother still writes the occasional column… Then there is the obvious “knock Harper” slant taken by John Ivison at their Ottawa bureau over the past year… But that is to be expected as it seems that any reporter – with the exception of Brian Lilley! – who breathes Ottawa air, “goes MSM”… The really telling part is that Andrew Coyne controls the op-ed page and commentary now… No more letters to the editor supporting the Monument to the Victims of Communism will be seen under his watch apparently… NP’s founder Conrad Black gets the occasional Saturday op-ed piece as does Rex Murphy, thank God, but they now seem to be “token” inclusions amongst the lefty drift… I will no longer buy their print edition even though I am an old school journalist who still loves the feel of “paper” in my hands as I read… And Anne Marie Owens, the editor in chief, who learned her trade at the St. Catharines Standard, under our mutual mentor Larry Smith, just doesn’t seem to care…

Peter,

Or some people don’t know what they are talking about, ignore reality and claim that The National Post are lying for defining themselves as being conservative.
commented 2015-08-23 17:22:47 -0400
The National Post is not conservative, but some stupid dolts keep perpetuating the lie that it is. I guess some people do not have the intellect to learn.

A 12lb sledge hammer could easily replace the $500 fine….no no, not to Rob Well’s thick skull, to his car.

Vlad,

Thank you. I am glad that you see the value that I bring to The Rebel. I am doing more to keep this place alive over the people that agree with Ezra and Brian. But don’t worry, I post on other websites too. I have plenty of love to go around.

Any relations to Paul Wells of Maclean’s?
Why is everyone putting the old man with Laurie Graham down. Here is what I wrote to the CTV today.
To Whom it May Concern,

Why is the CTV approving commentary on Prime Ministers Harper’s economic performance by a professor of Social Studies. Not only are his comments very ignorant, but it also is a reflection on the people in charge at the CTV and their biases. It may not be sensationalism but Mr. Harper has guided Canadians through some very tumultuous economic waters the world has been going through the past decade. If Mulcair or Trudeau were in power, our economic fortunes would be way worse. Could the CTV not find an economist to comment on the economy. Robert David’s understanding of the economy is ignorant at best. Where is responsible journalism?

Your over coverage of the Duffy trial has produced nothing. Your attempt to manufacture something is pathetic. Last week you got commentary on the trial from Michael Spratt, a husband of a NDP candidate. Do you think we got objective commentary? And today, Robert David, a social science teacher, giving commentary on the economy. So when we watch that old man heckle Laurie Graham. Accusing her of bias. I can see a lot of truth in that old man. Does the CTV take Canadians for idiots.

Alex Armutlu
Getting sick of the CTV at an alarming pace

when I read the headline, I thought it was the Trailer Park Boys Rob Wells. Whew! This turd from Edmonton is not someone who has any influence.

Now that’s really awkward and abusive VLAD JOHNSON for me, Ezra Levant and The Rebel Media staff – I’m certain Mr. Brinkman of the Netherlands would not appreciate you posting his twitter name @richardbrinkman onto The Rebel forum here and making all those foolish claims about him spamming lefty crap… On behalf of The Rebel Media I would like to apologize to Mr. Brinkman of the Netherlands for the confusion… We are not all like VLAD JOHNSON and Rob Wells…

Now here is a YouTube I produced as a citizen news person that relates to the topic at hand spot-lighting free speech and the lack of it when ever Edmonton’s Marxist Leninist try to police thier rallies and protests that feature key speakers like the NDP MP Linda Duncan and other candidate hopefuls from both the Green and NDP party https://youtu.be/0IBaAy1xm1I

and since I mentioned Edmonton’s Linda Duncan, here are 900 really good reasons NOT to re-elect the NDP Edmonton/ Strathcona MP back into office : https://youtu.be/h6Uttp2zt40

There is one more personal reason not to elect Duncan but I’ll save that for another topic when Ezra talks about discrimination…

That old dude ripping the MSM, “…you’re a lying piece of shit…” was funny – made me LOL. A job well done.

@jimmy-duh-silva – The Rebel thanks you – every time you click around this site, you generate advertising revenue which helps finance the expansion of The Rebel. Good job swifty – you’re comments belong on torstar’s blog, but you generate cash here – post as often as you can dude. Ezra says thanks. KA-CHING!!!

Alberta license plate # BRH2900. Anyone out there in registries provide me more info? I need to take my golden gloves son over there and explain manually how this is wrong. I also have a 10 yr old who attends catholic school. And no Jimmy, I don’t make him watch porn, nor do I with the older son

Anybody who is as obsessed at Wells probably has a mental disorder. Should be locked up in a rubber room with a chocolate key.
commented 2015-08-23 00:30:10 -0400
Ezra, you mentioned the declasse or gauche ‘thing’ Wells would be remembered for…a crude four letter word.
Well, here’s one of the ‘things’ you’ll be remembered for, it’s a quote:
“…by that point in time those censors were terrified of me so they rejected the complaint…”
My Hero…

Compare that to the trumped up charges the Alberta CHRC are posing against Ezra for saying that’s crazy

Jimmy, jimmy, jimmy

The old guy you refer to from the video was wrong. No doubt. but,

Jimmy, jimmy, jimmy

he was just giving back to the regressive left a small dosage of what they dish out all the time.

Not the clearest of messages I can see it now.
Child asks mother, “Mommy, what does that man want to do with Stephen Harper?”
Mother replies, “Well dear, when a man loves another man, in Canada they can get married and express their love for each other just like a mommy and daddy can.”
Child, " He sure must love the Prime Minister a lot to put it on his car."
Mother, “Yes, it sure looks that way.”

Agree with everything you said 100% Ezra, I love what what you do and I watch you every night after I’m finished work, used to record The Source as well and have had the pleasure of seeing you speak at Ryerson. Huge fan of free speech for everyone, regardless of wether I agree with them or find it utterly reprehensible. Just a word of caution- and I only say this because I want to see you and The Rebel grow and prosper- don’t publiclly muse that he has mental health issues with no evidence. Frankly it wouldn’t at all surprise me if he did, and I don’t want to come across as some leftist crazy PC nut because I am far far from that, but it does a disservice to all those who have issues in their heads. There are those who have dealt with issues in whichever way they choose, who are disgusted by those who choose to use such issues as such as a crutch in any way, to get special treatment and benefits etc., those who don’t talk about it rather just deal with it and move on. There are many people with demons, many very successful people who confront and quash those issues all day every day. Just my two cents. And also, I’d love to write for you.

His rear window should encounter a spark plug.
Free Speech does not include the right to broadcast vulgar language in front of children.
