WATCH: Shaquille O’Neal thanks Fort McMurray first responders in touching video

Rebel Staff

The firefighters and first responders to the Fort McMurray fire have rightfully been receiving a lot of praise, and now even 4-time NBA champ Shaquille O’Neal is showing his support.

Shaq posted a video message to Facebook thanking the first responders, calling them true heroes who saved OVER 9000 people.

It's rather touching, although his short rendition of O Canada could use some work.

Awesome.

As far as I know, Shaquille O’Neal is the only non-Canadian celebrity who even gave Fort McMurray a thought or a mention. Judging his motivation is extremely hypocritical, and the sort of thing we like to accuse the left of doing all the time. His motivation is between him and God… none of us can see into his heart. Just say thank you and move on. Criticizing him because you doubt his sincerity is nothing but petty small-mindedness. Besides, how does anyone know whether he made a financial donation or not? Last time I checked, being as how he’s an American, he’s not under any obligation to do so, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t. Besides whether he did or not is nobodies damned business but his. This petty, small-minded attitude here really surprises me

Peter I know which comments I prefer. Crapping on Fort Mac or support, I take support. Who knows maybe the guy did contribute, but just didn’t say.

It is comments like ACUUNA’s that help undermine The Rebel.

Yea, I have to agree with Bill, Shaq’s video does look like virtue signalling and somewhat empty of sincerity, however I guess it is better than crapping on Ft. Mac saying they deserve it and that it is karma.

ACUUNA,

You don’t seem like a very nice person.

Pure distilled virtue signaling.

liza Rosie
shaq could afford to put up the fleeing residents.
shaq could afford to buy the firefighters a water bomber.
shaq could afford to fly out and help, in person.
instead you get a youtube video.
I’m sure my donation went farther than his.
so who is really helping?

Crawl back under your rock Acuuna.
When is support considered a bad thing? When Acuuna crawls out from under his rock before he has had his snickers bar.

if you aren’t really going to help, shut your god-damn black mouth.
somebody throw the negroid a basket ball…
shut up and fuckoff, shaq.
