I wish the money had gone to end the hydro debt and reduce my insane bill…but then I wish the Liberals hadn’t also blown the billion on the gas plant scandal, and e-health, and ornge. and all their other scandals…thanks all you freaks who voted Liberal last time…you and they should all be in jail. Hard to be enthusiastic when their policies are bankrupting the province and destroying the future of all these athletes. Peter N….great comment! Forget Darlington Nuclear…we need to find a way to make him our energy source to this winter.

Well, someone’s making a lot of money on these games. And lot of the events are not even in Toronto at all.

These ‘games’ are a hideous, historic, tragic, criminal waste of tax payer dollars. To think what could have been done with these billions of dollars is enough to make a thinking person puke. It is incredible that the Liberal government would lavish billions of dollars on any games let alone these lame, unwanted excuses to pay of party cronies. Nobody gives a damn about these games and far better uses for the billions of dollars flushed down this particular toilet.

It should be illegal for one person to have so much energy.

Hilarious Matt. Torontonians don’t seem to have a clue the PAG are in their town. They lied through their teeth. I guess Wynne is doing a fantastic job as far as spending your hard earned dollar. Ontarians, why bother with elections just keep her in there for another 10 yrs. By then that should pretty well have eradicated any money that some people might still have providing it’s still hidden under their mattress.

That was pretty funny!

you are the man! You probably did more promotion with excitement than they done over the last month…i suspect they will have the same sports as the olympics’s?

Good morning all rebels
Here’s my take on these Pan AM games. THE WAY WAY OVER COSTS GAMES but what would expect by these over paid organizers. The Pan Am Games, The Commonwealth Games, The Asian Games, are a pale shadows of The Olympic Games This comment is no dispersion on the athletes as many are world class. The point I want to make is the Money spent on these games is not warranted. During the build up to these games we have seen directors dismissed for wrong doing. The past Pan Am Games in Winnipeg were brought in on budget then why have we seen the Toronto games budget balloon to over a billion dollars. These organizers are prima donnas like drunken sailors they splashed money around like it was confetti with care free abandon. They took no account or responsibility for the disruption to the business and workers of Toronto those people who PAY for the games. Then they price the cost of tickets out of sight any one who could afford these prices have left town to avoid the gridlock of traffic. Here is a reminder we all Canadians just last year got through with paying for the Montreal Olympics, where you alive back in 1976 thirty nine years ago. Are you proud of saddling your children with this debt. What a waist of money when we need roads and bridges to make this city a first class town if you can’t get around town, your just a traffic jam.

Great satire from Matt Phillips. Today (Friday July 10, 2015) the CBC News web page as a headline tag entitled “Ready to go! How to watch CBC Pan American Games coverage”, which leads to this self-serving article:
http://panam.cbc.ca/news/article/image-pan-games-how-watch-cbc-coverage-computer-phone.html

If anyone can stomach it, tune in, for a laugh, to CBC Morning News, with Heather Hiscox. She just mindlessly cheerleads for this forgettable, $2.5-billion, Government of Ontario monstrosity. Very little, or no, critical coverage over at the CBC,

With all due respect to the athletes and participants, I have read a number stories and rumours about so much taxpayer money being poured into this as well as major behind the scenes politicking and related nonsense being involved, but all for very little actual fan support in Toronto and thus making the 1976 Olympics in Montreal seem like a great success story. Yet something else that will ultimately reflect on Wynne in a very disappointing manner for anybody who cares.

That video was really telling of how much some of these Torontonians actually give a moose fart for the PanAm. But after the last one, I really can’t blame them. It was a fail then, and it’s an epic fail now… Way to waste our tax dollars Dictator Wynne!

I was going to take the family to one of the events when I found out the tickets were $50 a head – hardly a family outing I could make an NHL game for that expense.
