WATCH: Turkish soccer fans prove Obama wrong about "universal" values

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

President Obama's first public statement addressing the Paris terrorist attacks included him noting that the attacks weren't just against Paris or France but against all of humanity and the universal values we all share.

That statement bothered me because I wondered, do we really all share the same values?

I don't think so and that point was driven home this week at a soccer match between Turkey and Greece. See for yourself what the Turkish fans did during what was supposed to be a moment of silence for the victims of the Paris terror attacks.

Some don't share our values and it's our values that they are trying to attack.

I can bet neither CBC, CTV, nor Global would every report this. CNN to my surprise actually covered it.

I absolutely agree that the concept of universal values, defined as values shared by all humanity, is false. However, I also believe that what has traditionally been defined as “western values” has also, for all intents and purposes, become extinct. Western values were founded on solid Judeo-Christian principles and values, the self-evident existence of objective truth, moral absolutes, logic, common sense, the rule of law, tolerance for a diversity of opinion and the free exchange of ideas in the public square. This has been replaced by relativism, hedonism, political correctness, Atheism, western white guilt, willful ignorance of the dangers posed by Islam, and a complete intolerance for anyone who doesn’t share this liberal narrative. How else can you explain the almost apologetic tone of the victims of the terrorist?

I have an idea — if Trudeau wants to bring in 25,000 refugees and he believes they pose no threat, let them live with him for the first 6 months and then we’ll see if the rest of us Canadians believe him or not.

Donald Perry,
I caught this report last night on Sky News, at 10pm that is 4 am Paris time. The police were following up on a report that Terrorists were at a certain location. They ran into a full Terrorist Cell, all belted up and ready to go, they were wearing suicide belts, the whole kit and caboodle. 5000 shots and mortars were fired at the police and army, who had been called in. The UK press are reporting that the leader of this cell was the guy who organized the previous attack, they also say that he was killed. Sky news has not confirmed this though.

Yet we are told again and again that only a tiny minority of Muslims support terrorism. And Turkey is a relatively moderate Islamic country. What do you think the reaction from the crowd would be if the game were held in Ryad or Tehran?

This is the third site I have seen this reported but not the CBC. Nothing less than expected

Will Trudeau join the international coalition, that France is calling for, and bomb Syria. Pull your finger out Justin, you have a decision to make. Muslims fire 5000 rounds in to a Paris Suburb, think Justin, you going to do nothing. Take care or one of your 25000 new buddies will give you a big smile, right below your chin.

Cathy – I guess most Canadians missed the fact that this flake hates Canada. Everything he does will be to destroy our country, because he and his arrogant band of idiots are complete fools.

Just when has B.O. ever been right about anything? I think he is pure evil.

Kyle, you are correct. From the quick check I made, the CBC has no article on this at all. And it is doubtful Trudeau will say anything about it. Both the CBC and Trudeau are jokes. The joke is on Canada. The PM that would be king, but is only a fool.

How will Trudeau react to this, answer he won’t. How will cbc cover this, answer they won’t. I would like to say I am shocked, but I am not.
