Why didn't Elizabeth May attack Justin Trudeau during the debate?

Rebel Staff

Did you notice something strange during the Maclean's Leaders Debate? All the leaders attacked each other -- except Elizabeth May.

Oh sure, she went after Harper and Mulcair, but not only did she leave Justin Trudeau alone, she even came to his aid when he struggled with a tough question from Harper.

Elizabeth May was practically his debating partner -- and his nanny.

little jimmy’s list of women politicians didnt include kathleen wynne… dont you consider lesbians to be women?
commented 2015-08-12 11:51:56 -0400
Silva its because they are all air heads from your far left wing nut bar party.

How heart warming to see Joan taking wee jimpy under her wing. A lot like may is doing with the shiny pony.

You don’t have to support May, but I find that people here – including Ezra seem to mock women politicians, because they are women. May, Olivia Chow, Notley, etc. I don’t know what it is, but I get a very anti-woman vibe at The Rebel with women politicians in addition to the stories that The Rebel covers about women’s rights, etc.

May is a lap dog for Trudeau and the Liberals and its a joke that this idiot is allowed to participate in these debates.

Jimmy – Pay no mind to MacMaster – He suffers from paraphilic sadism. He’s a retired cop.

There is a name for men who enjoy hurting children; it is “sadistic pedophile”.

Anne Smyth – The Green Party has been described as the alternative Conservative Party, and have you forgotten about the Libertarian Party? Don’t let them hear you call them leftist.

The CPC is a right-leaning, centrist party many Canadians feel is too progressive.

It’s all about perspective.

See, Jimmy? I told you.

I was surprised to see the E May was at least sober! The lefties are trying to stick together. J Trudeau is so out of it! If the issue has to do with the conservatives, that “silly young man” just can’t agree with anything that is a conservative issue. The Liberals were so proud of his performance in the debate even though J Trudeau was cutting S Harper off when S Harper was talking. J Trudeau was also at times yelling at S Harper. But the Liberals were still proud of him!! When I attempt to watch the Don Martin CTV program, all those lefties (liberals) were so proud of that “silly man”. When you think of the debt that Ontario is in, you would maybe think the liberals would get some decency in them and start asking the liberal government under, K Wynne, to make cuts in the huge debt . But “NO”, S. Harper has to mention that to the liberals. Shameful! That is like Manitoba’s big debt which is around 400M two months ago. Everytime I watch news on TV in Winnipeg or read in the newspaper, the NDP are still spending like a drunken sailor! There are no fiscally responsible politicians in the world except the Conservatives in Ottawa under S Harper. ONLY the conservatives are fiscally responsible today.

Anne Smyth – I’m not interested in what the left have to say either, since we are continually bombarded with their gossip and fiction via the MSM 24/7.
commented 2015-08-11 14:33:13 -0400
I think it’s funny that there is one Conservative party and 4 progressive parties. Even though the progressives are all for the same thing they can’t even get along to stand together, how come? Pouer hungry comes to mind. So far as doing interviews, I’m not interested in what they have to say anyway.

Kelvin,

Post got screwed up.

And Mulcair and Trudeau will do interviews/respond to conservative media – BEYOND The Rebel. National Post, Toronto Sun, etc.
commented 2015-08-11 14:02:51 -0400
Kelvin,

Stephen Harper will do interviews with the CBC and CTV.
commented 2015-08-11 13:37:00 -0400
But don’t you think that the Harper camp feels the same way about cbc and ctv reporters? He has to try to answer questions and be on guard for the follow up ambush question he has no choice, the other leaders seem to have a choice who they wish to answer . It doesn’t seem to be a level playing field, does it?
commented 2015-08-11 13:28:00 -0400
Kelvin,

Well if Ezra and Brian were to show that they are true journalists and not tabloid hacks, then maybe they would be able to get sit down interviews like other conservative sources do.

Be honest – do you really think making assumptions, speculating and judging is really the right way to go if you are trying to create a credible news/media source?
commented 2015-08-11 13:24:02 -0400
May, and her party of two, are clinging to life support, and she thinks Justy will save her. I hope that she loses her seat and party status, for the good of Canada! Not to mention I can’t stand the idea of having this lush lead our Canada!
commented 2015-08-11 13:17:22 -0400
C’mon Jimmy you well know that she would not give Ezra an interview. Just like Mulcair wouldn’t answer Brian’s. I know you are going to say that they are not real journalist but why can’t any voter ask these politicians questions and get a civil answer. Here’s your mission should you decide to except it. Find a conservative town hall meeting and ask a hard hitting question and if they dismiss you like Mulcair did Brian then Ezra will buy you supper( well I kinda doubt that but it would be cool if he did eh?) and then try the same thing at a liberal town hall and so on. Get out there and get us a scoop Jimmy
commented 2015-08-11 12:17:10 -0400
Here is an idea Ezra. Instead of making assumption and speculating – why don’t you do some real journalism and ASK HER. Stop being a fucking hack with tabloid “reporting”.

Marty — I don’t know Jimmy personally, and it appears we are provinces apart. However, by his verbal actions, he’s a provocateur (a shit disturber, if you will). I have no idea if he even believes what he espouses. No matter. Your best bet is to treat him like you would a spoiled child — mainly ignore him. Occasionally, Jimmy actually has something intelligent and worthwhile to post, and often that’s worth commenting on. Sometimes (rarely, but sometimes), he has a valid question worth answering.

But unless his posts fall under those two categories, tune him out.

Seriously.

(And that goes for his “friends”, as you put them.)

Prince you are right of course, it’s just that I get so sick of the constant attacks and filthy remarks that I respond in kind. I try very hard not to but then……
I also notice that there are now a couple of other of his friends on here.
Its also amazing because I never used any names.
Guilty conscience.
commented 2015-08-10 22:54:06 -0400
she knows that she can’t steal any votes from the liberals, only ndp, and attacking harper plays to her base the anti-harperites cultivated by the cbc
commented 2015-08-10 21:45:57 -0400
Marty, the trick to dealing with Jimmy is to pick your discussions. If it’s not one you want to get into (and the vast majority are not), then leave it alone and do not reply. The rest of us enjoy more intellectual discussions.
commented 2015-08-10 20:46:29 -0400
Marty,

Such hostility and a threat too – I guess that’s the conservative way when they can’t handle an opposing view. Like the saying goes – if you can’t take the heat, stay out of the kitchen. OK little boy?

James MacMaster said: “I think Ezra makes Jimmy and Marty horny. Weird, I know – but I hear there are guys out there who pay to get spanked.” Too funny and so true! I once met a guy who begged me to run him over with my 4X4! I didn’t of course because I believed he did not realize the implications. Yeah.. They’re out there! More than we know!

I remember when SunNews sponsored the boxing match that would not have qualified for a Golden Gloves competition. Elizabeth May, when interviewed, was hysterically funny in her hysteria over Trudeau Jr. partaking in a violent sport. Nanny is correct. That is all that is left since Junior already has a mother and wife whom he sincerely loves; but maybe Mrs. Green keeps hoping.
