Why Harper's vow to slash Co2 is meaningless (and that's a good thing)

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

The Harper government has vowed to reduce Co2 emissions by 30 percent by 2030.

Canada won't meet that target. We've never met the other ones.

Real people don't care about Co2, because it isn't real pollution.

Only pundits and professional "green" care, and their reactions to this announcement tell you all you need to know.

I'll share something a former Harper cabinet minister told me about the Kyoto Protocol that I think you'll find especially revealing.

Environmental Defence needs to lose its charitable status like yesterday, please and thank-you.

Ron you are right, people are ignorant of history. We will pay the price. It rises again because of this. The elite who take advantage of this ignorance and naivete have never gone away, they only lie in wait.

Thanks RICK PLESNIK. The Agenda documentary speaks of the Cultural Marxists’ “long march through the institutions”. The Soviet Story documentary is even more chilling as it reveals the dystopian final destiny of that “long march”. At the outset, the documentary notes that Communism is “supposed” to be about equality and harmony. That ultimate harmony, according to Lenin who believed in the war of classes, can only be reached after certain groups of people are killed, like the 7 million Ukrainians that were brutally exterminated by Stalin.
We understand that those who don’t know history are doomed to repeat it. And yet, even today like a moth drawn to a flame, many are drawn to this promised utopia despite the lessons of history revealing what transpires under brutal Godless Communist regimes.

Ron, thanks for the link. Chilling and depressing. Canada is already far down this path. Ontario is practically there. For more perspectives on Communism that so many lefties seem to worship, see a film called “The Soviet Story”. It is available out of New York on DVD. I found this link on Youtube: Ignore the Toyota Ad at the start.

Ezra, please CO2, not Co2. Co is cobalt. Lefties take little errors like this and use eristics to discredit an otherwise accurate report.

I worry about the tipping point. If the green /socialists /multiculturalist politically correct continue to hamstring our economy by not allowing the extraction of natural resouces
we will be weakened to the point that Canada will revisit the worst of the dirty 30’s from the last century ,compounded by the undermining of our Canadian spirit which is based on Judea Christian values of the freedom and dignity of the individual to make choices. We are now expected to be good little sheeple and follow the Big Lie about “big oil” and nasty Christians and mean, awfully Israel.
We have everything to loose if we don’t smarten up. Things can go very wrong very fast and Canada will be be awash with Liz Mays and Justinites.what a hell ride that would be.

RICK PLESNIK, re “Substitute the Environmental Movement for Communism and one has what all of this is really about….”, this 4½-minute segment (1:05:33 to 1:09:59 minutes) from “Agenda – Grinding America Down”, a documentary on the socialist subversion of America, that I have mentioned before, shows that environmentalism is one of the tools employed to bring about subjugation by global socialists, rather than saving the planet:;channel=arcanaaa

The day the Environmentalist Movement stops acting like a rabid death-cult and more like scientists that they pretend to be, that is when I will start taking them [more] seriously. Until then… thanks.

All well and good, but it doesn’t put the carbon hustlers and those with the anti capitalist anti free market agenda out of business. Haper should be using all that government advertizing to expose and denounce those agendas for what they are.

According to the U.N., it is imperative for nations to make commitments to cut greenhouse gas emissions to address the global problem that its science reveals with respect to “global warming”, er, “climate change”. Please tell us TERRY RUDDEN are you aligned with the U.N. position that its science demonstrates a need for such an imperative?

“I am more angered with Harper for paying lip service to the junk science and hysteria driving the carbon industry. "

Thanks for that, BILL ELDER. Harper isn’t getting a pass from me, either. He is compounding and prolonging a lie that is bringing hardship upon his citizens and economic grief to his country.

I’m not so sure it’s a good thing for government to mislead the public on intent or policy whether it’s a good reason or not – ACFAIC there is never a good reason for anything less than full transparency on policy and intent.

I think the CPC position on CO2 hysteria is correct – the GHG science is too cloudy to commit to policy which will cripple productivity or the economy in such fragile times. I am more angered with Harper for paying lip service to the junk science and hysteria driving the carbon industry. Why put guidelines in place? The scam is there targets are meant to not be achieved – that means tax – tax on a harmless gas which will do NOTHING to change climate – but it will enrich the cadre of green racketeers riding the fraudulent climate crisis bus. You just know if there are unattainable targets Kleptocratic governments will use it as an excuse to “sin tax” – Don’t give them the opportunity.

I would feel much better about Harper’s integrity if he confronted these climate fraud artists and refuses to render a penny of public funding on a non-crisis. It may be hard to educate the public who have been conned by Green-left MSM and special interests but Harper has the largest podum in the nation to challenge the science of Climate crisis and CO2 hysteria – USE IT!

Finally! Kudos to the Rebel for pointing out that Harper’s “environmental” policy is a tissue of lies and window dressing. We know it, of course, but it’s good to see even conservative media admitting it.

Fraser, right on!!! Here in Mb last Sat was beautiful & green & that evening our deck was covered in snow & winds howling like the sound of a train going by. The green activists want us to believe that any change in the weather is climate change. Well, it is really but mankind is not the cause, Mother Nature is. Many of us are onto the Al Gore & David Suzuki propaganda which have made them wealthy.

What I keep wondering is: Has Harper really been taken in by the CO2 ‘pollution’ con? Or by the man-made global warming con? Or is the 24 Sussex Drive Cheshire Cat just conning the MSM?

If you are under 35 and still believe in man made climate change, you have not been paying attention and could be considered a sheeple. If you are over 35, but say you believe in man made climate change, you know you don’t really believe, but you have bought into the climate change industry, for political reasons, as a way to bend us all towards the “new agenda” or /and, you are making money from spreading lies, or in alternative energy (make us pay for decades) windmills industry. Either way its about stopping any competition to foreign oil. He who has and takes advantage of his energy, will be the winner. Energy is the currency, the power, in every way . Keeping a country from developing and exporting its natural resources is a way to keep it impotent and out of the way.

It is just so not about the environment, its about keeping people and countries in their place and powerless.

Well sure, the PC’s have to tow the environmental agenda to a degree as any political party would. Although. I suspect S. Harper does not have his heart in this environmental agenda. But a politician is behaving as any politician would. Excuse me – at least North Korea is environmentally conscious, or should I say unconscious. Luv those last lines Ezra. :)

Here are some of the climate change I have had to endure.
While in Calgary golfing with my brother Bill back in 1984. It was a perfect day the sun was shining and the birds were singing. We were having a wonderful time when we noticed a ominous black cloud appeared over the mountains. We continued with our game when suddenly the black cloud was our us it opened with a thunder clap and lightning. The sky opened hail and rain fell like a deluge we were caught far from shelter racing for cover we pelted with large hail. Then in less than a minute the skies cleared and sun broke out back to our sunny day. NOW that’s what I call climate change.
Living in Montreal December 23 1972 our office was to close at 3 o’clock we were all in a joyful mood The day started like any December the sky was clear when we arrived at work. Usually it took 15 to 20 minutes to drive home. Around 10:30 the sky clouded over and the wind was picking up. We were having fun and didn’t notice the snow falling. By leaving time at 3 we were in a full blown blizzard. The streets were clogged even the back roads were blocked. Inching along it took me 3 and half hours to get home. NOW that’s what I call climate change!!
While living in Fonthill Ontario again the day started fine by the next day we had the greatest snowfall in history. NOW that’s what I call SNOW EFFECT or climate change.
Now I’m sure you have endured climate change write some of your experiences I’m looking forward to reading your stories.

It is pathetic to think that the Conservatives have to degrade themselves to this degree to try and pick up votes from eco-wackjobs who will never vote Conservative in any case.

Aside from needing CO2 to feed our trees which in turn will generate oxygen for us yes, it’s discouraging to think that there are people around who still believe in global warming and all the associated junk beliefs that go with it, but encouraging to know that real people continue to pay close attention to real science and unbiased, honest data collection.

But beware of the sly, cunning, eco-whackos fall-back position. Remember, they are into the scam too deep now to have a face-saving way out, especially when it transpires that they and all the other gullible fools were wrong. When the time comes for them to realize just how wrong they have been, their best option will be to appear to wipe the sweat from their brow, high-five and hug each other, congratulate themselves on a job well done and then demand that we worship them for “saving” us all just in the nick of time.

@barrylevy, @ronvoss Global warming/climate change (or whatever else big goobermint calls it) = carbon taxes/cap and trade taxes.
= make rich goobermints MOAR rich.

And all the crap leading to MOAR taxes is all FM/AM (mirrors and magic).

The big fat socialist/marxist/liberal/communist goobermints just want MOAR of your cash – and that’s all it is.

Because fighting something that is a natural occurrence, “Climate Change”….CAN’T be done. So if you need to fight “BS” from the “greenies”…with more “BS”…then so be it. The “Global Warming” religionists can FAKE their data, change what data exists, and out-and-out LIE…but it will NOT ‘change the Climate"…in any way, shape or form. It’s just a viiolent, vicious ‘Religion"…that allows NO ’dissent’.
commented 2015-05-18 18:11:55 -0400
Help me understand this? The supposed “global warming”, for which there is NO evidence despite rising levels of CO2, requires nations, according to the U.N., to make commitments to cut greenhouse gas emissions, even though there is no evidence to support such a theory. Wouldn’t this be clear evidence for global insanity? The emperor has no clothes and no one is prepared to face up to reality and stop participating in this insanity propagated by the UN bureaucrats!
With the Canadian public by-and-large brainwashed to believe this insanity by the media, university professors, politicians like Trudeau, etc., unfortunately the Harper government has to give it some acknowledgement. Unfortunately, it goes beyond “good PR” as Ezra suggests when governments like the Kathleen Wynne ideologues, on the basis of accepting and promoting this insanity, take measures like cap-and-trade initiatives which adversely affect the economy and peoples’ lives.
