Wynne's Liberals put ideology ahead of people as energy rates set to go up AGAIN

Brian LilleyRebel Co-Founder

Ontario, the province that used to lead the country in hydro electric power having harnessed the wonder that is Niagara Falls, is now looking to put residents into energy poverty in the pursuit of their green energy goals.

On Sunday November 1, electricity prices in Ontario went up by 3.4 percent, the latest in a long line of price hikes and it's going to get worse.

On January 1 the Clean Energy Benefit, a ten percent discount given to quell voter anger will expire meaning another ten percent price hike. And who can forget Energy Minister Bob Chiarelli musing back in December 2013 about prices rising by 42 percent over the next three years.

When the Liberals took power in Ontario in 2003 the price for electricity before adding delivery and debt charges, was 4.3 cents per kilowatt hour. It is now 17.5 cents per kilowatt hour at peak times which means when you run your coffee pot in the morning, turn on the light to get out of bed or when you cook your dinner. If you can put off all of that until after 7pm, you can get the price down to 8.3 cents, before adding the never ending list of other charges like delivery and debt.

Why does it cost so much? We have a surplus of power in the province, with Ontario regularly selling power at a loss to New York State.

Well part of it relates to increasing costs at Ontario Hydro’s nuclear and Hydro electric plants, then there is the albatross that is the wind and solar contracts that were signed to make Ontario green. They said if we changed to high efficiency appliances, energy efficient light bulbs and the like that our bills would go down? That was the promise.

As I keep pointing out, the more we save, the higher the bills go, once again proving that green energy leads to poverty for regular people.

I usually like Brian’s reports, but this one was very poorly researched ! He keeps referring to Ontario Hydro’s nuclear and hydraulic facilities, which makes no sense! Ontario power generation owns those facilities, and sells the generation to Hydro One, then Hydro One transmits that electricity all over the province and charges their customers! With the old Ontario Hydro split into two companies now, ( Ontario power generation, or OPG, and Hydro One) when a rate increase is announced, it actually applies to OPG, who will increase their "generation"rates, then Hydro one in turn will increase their “transmission” rates!

HMMM, the Eastern bastards may freeze in the dark with no ill will from Alberta needed.

I am astonished that Ontario voters have been putting up with this for so long. In BC, not exactly a right wing province, the BC Liberals had to backtrack on hydro increases the public was so furious. In fact it was in BC most of the opposition to the HST came. Why does it seem Ontario voters are so passive? Or is it that the Ontario PC party is so inept it can’t get voters?

The other elephant in the room . . . wind turbines last about 7 or 8 years . . . then they need an extensive rebuild costing around 2/3s or their original cost. This is an ongoing nightmare . . . in the USA today there are more than 10,000 of tthis monstrosities abandoned because govt Subsidies which is what they run on . . . Ran Out !
Really disappointed in the Ontario folks that have now exported Ontar-i-owe’s insanity to the ROC . . . my predictions for the future . . . Doubling Canada’s debt in the next few years . . . and double digit unemployment !

Wynnie knows exactly what she is doing because she is implementing the UN’s Agenda 21 plan, and that plan is to kill capitalism, so that we bend over for the UN’s one world government, or dare I say their attempt to round us all up for their plan of one world government. Remember when the UN wench was visiting Winnie? Rachel Notely is following the same plan to destroy our O&G industry, and we will witness this when our idiot premier, addresses the demons at the UN in December.

Ontario is finished, wynne wonders why industry is leaving, HIGH POWER RATES DONT HELP WHAT PART DOES SHE NOT GET. Manufacturing uses power liberals price it to high and you kill jobs.

Higher rates (and high gas prices when CME gasoline is $1.30 per gallon) is done by Orville Redenbacher (Wynne) to pay down debt and transfer to government pensions.

So if you aren’t a government worker, you are paying for some government oaf to retire at 55 on 70% of their top earning year.

Ah yes, this is what Ontario votes for. Orville Redenbacher (Wynne) is the criminal and Ontario voters are the village idiots.

The bird killing windmills have never been about “green”, or saving the environment or some other such obscure cause. They are all about making Liberal Insiders who own these devices to get rich off hydro ratepayers!

" … then there is the albatross that is the wind and solar contracts that were signed to make Ontario green."
“People actually believe that things are better with green energy and that green jobs will be created, resulting in a better future.”

The GREEN energy agenda is about MONEY, the people who bought into the lies of green energy are naïve. The GREEN energy agenda is not only about energy poverty due to those initiatives, but the fact that people’s rights have been trampled on in Ontario (no-host municipalities disregarded), animals lives disregarded all in the name of green technology advancement. The madness will only get worse with the Liberals at the helm.

Wind turbine company Nextera & MNR destroy Bald Eagle Nest & Habitat in Haldimand Cty, ON
Published on Jan 7, 2013
On the morning of January 5th, 2013 Wind Turbine Developer Nextera Energy removed a bald eagle nest (species of special concern in Ontario), and the tree it was in, in order to accommodate an access road and a wind turbine for their company in the Summerhaven project in Haldimand Cty. The MNR gave a permit for the company to do so the night before. Pictures of the destruction here:

- What is also shocking in the film clip is that one of the workers tries to argue that it is Harper’s fault that the nest is being taken down even though this is a PROVINCIAL matter and MCGUINTY was the one who approved the removal of the eagle nest.
— Lists 61 municipalities, 13 of which already have wind projects approved under provincial rules that over-rode local concerns.

“Modern wind turbines depend on rare earth minerals mined primarily from China. Unfortunately, given federal regulations in the U.S. that restrict rare earth mineral development and China’s poor record of environmental stewardship, the process of extracting these minerals imposes wretched environmental and public health impacts on local communities. It’s a story Big Wind doesn’t want you to hear.”

A greedy government for a greedy people. This has nothing to do with environmentalism…it is a new way to gouge the people while making fools think they have made a good decision to elect such opportunists.

We need austerity NOW…but as usual the greedy voted to put themselves into poverty…how strangely perverted.

You’re right Egil, the right is not doing a good job at “enlightenment” and for various reasons… First of all there is the Berlin Wall now very evident at work in most of this nation’s media which “spikes” contrary opinion… Then there is the education system now at work from the kindergarten to university levels… And obviously the Greenie-loving politicians!… Too many “scientists” have also been bought off and/or their grants and careers depend on spinning the wind mills… A large part of the blame also has to put at the feet of the “right” when companies, dealing with billions of dollars of investment, don’t allocate sufficient funds to fight the Greenie fantasies in our daily discourse… Agenda 21 trust funds and the “Soroses” of the world are willing to pour millions into pushing their socialism international fantasies.. Too many on the right are “vacationing” in the Cayman Islands or the Virgin Islands or Bermuda….

Probably means more job losses. As power prices go up it effects all business not just residences. Any energy intensive industries will have to consider moving to a less hostile environment … like Siberia or Saudi Arabia.

The problem, as I see it, is that the right is doing a very poor job of enlightenment. People actually believe that things are better with green energy and that green jobs will be created, resulting in a better future. They don’t have any idea how Agenda 21 is impacting their lives and that it will lead to profound change in governments around the world.

The nice thing about being in Manitoba, is that we are so poor we can’t afford to be green.

Remember the final lines from the movie The Bridge On The River Kwai?… “Madness!… Madness!..” That’s Ontario today under the reign of Winnie The Poo… Ontario/Niagara Falls was where George Westinghouse collaborated with Serbian-born genius Nikola Tesla to create the first low-loss, easily transmitted, ALTERNATING CURRENT (A.C.) powerhouses in the world and Sir Adam Beck did the same for Ontario.. (Highly vaunted Thomas Edison had already failed in his experiment to “light” New York using D.C. (direct current) – same as that which comes from batteries)…From there flowed the building of four high energy-demanding abrasives industries in the Niagara Falls region and Thorold and Welland… The steel industry blossomed in Hamilton because of the availability of cheap electrical power… Ditto in nearby Fort Erie… Brantford became a world famous farm machinery powerhouse for the same reason… Ontario was the cheapest source of electrical power in North America!… And it WAS for decades following… The present scenario in Ontario is indeed: – “Madness!…”

Ontario has paid – yes paid the US of A to take our excess power – to the tune of nearly two billion tax payers dollars this year alone.

My farm power bill is more than 700 bucks a month and going up

10 years ago it was 90 bucks a month and no, we have not increased the usage.

We are about to go off grid next year – cutting the cord completely – expensive but important – otherwise over the next ten years it will kill us.

Please study this web site it tells you how bad it is and if you have half a brain you can easily predict how bad it is going to get

Many people will have to decide – heat or eat? Sickening!

Best to all

Alberta is going to head the Ontario way because Notley know that the Ontario “green” model is the only way. Disgusting.
