“The Girl in the Spider’s Web" REVIEW: Movie oversimplifies female hero to score “progressive” points

Ben DaviesRebel Host | Rebel Reel Reviews

The Girl in the Spider’s Web is the latest film based on the series of blockbuster novels by Stieg Larsson. In those books, the main character, Lisbeth Salander, is complex — but of course, Hollywood turns her into one of those action film superwomen who "kicks butt" and never makes a mistake or has a moment of doubt.

So how does this latest entry in the movie franchise live up to its predecessors? And what could the filmmakers have done to make this film so much better?

Always enjoy your reviews, Ben. Read the books and really liked them, but I’ll maybe give this movie a miss.

It sounds like another great work which got shackled by Hollywood NPCs.
