A young Danish girl was told she would be prosecuted after she defended herself against a would-be rapist.
The 17-year-old told police she was walking near an asylum center in the town of Sonderborg when she was attacked by a man who tried to sexually assault her.
According to The Daily Mail, the man knocked her to the ground and tried to undress her. She was able to use pepper spray to fight the man off.
While the attacker has not been caught, it's unclear whether the man was a refugee or not. The attack did, however, take place near a refugee center.
Despite the fact the girl was attacked, she was told she might be prosecuted because it is illegal to possess pepper spray in Denmark.
Police spokesman Knud Kirsten told TV Syd that “It's illegal to possess and use pepper spray, so she will likely to be charged for that.”
