18 people voted to REMOVE student from council meeting because raising her arm was 'triggering'

Eighteen University of Edinburgh students voted in favour of removing a girl from a meeting because she 'violated their safe space' by raising her arm.

According to Huffpo, Imogen Wilson, Vice President for academic affairs at Edinburgh's student association was threatened with removal from last Thursday's student council session.

As Reason points out, The Edinburgh Student's Association safe-space policy says student association members must treat each other with respect. Apparently Wilson was disrespectful by violating this policy, because 'respect' is defined as: “refraining from hand gestures which denote disagreement or in any other way indicating disagreement with a point or points being made. Disagreements should only be evident through the normal course of debate.”

Wilson had allegedly 'raised her arms in disagreement' during a debate and even went so far as to 'shake her head disapprovingly'.

Eighteen students voted in favour of removing Wilson from her position because of this ordeal. Fortunately, 33 voted for her to stay.

On Twitter, Wilson isn't focusing on the 'safe space' debacle. “Maybe people should be less concerned with my arm movements and more concerned that EUSA just passed policy to support BDS,” she tweeted.

Other students are doing the fighting when it comes to battling the ideas of 'safe spaces'.

First-year student Charlie Peters has created a petition calling on the school to change its 'safe space' policies. He also says this isn't an isolated incident.

“To the President, Vice Presidents, Student Council, Trustees, and Senior Management of EUSA, I am writing to invite you to defend freedom. You are restricting the freedom of students to speak, to be heard, to understand, and to learn. This is unacceptable,” his petition says.

Beta male school principal bans Christmas, Valentine's and other holidays that “threaten the culture of tolerance”

“In a free and liberal society such as ours, it is imperative that people remain able to express their views, regardless of what others may think of them. This is currently not possible at the University of Edinburgh. By upholding the values of the NUS’s ‘No Platform’ policy – and as a result of your ‘Safe Space’ policy – you have restricted the right of students and guests to speak freely. By defining university as a ‘Safe Space’, you shelter students from dissenting views, betraying the most basic ideals of education,” it continues.

I bet her farts also smelled of peanuts and she had to be removed because of allergies. Some people just can’t stay away from peanut butter.

Wow, a whole generation of pansies. I just shake my head in despair. I am glad my time is coming to an end. I don’t want to live is such a “poor little buttercup” world while Islam takes over and beheads anyone they dislike … which apparently is just about everyone.

I wonder what these pansies would do if a terrorist pointed a gun at them. Have them evicted?

Perhaps the University is just attempting to teach their students how to do as they’re told and be subserviant, compliant citizens when they graduate, and take their place in the upcoming post-democratic Britain — and avoid being arrested by the police for being disagreeable.

So I suppose the next stage is you can only vote in favour of an SJW motion and not against it through a show of hands. Because if you vote against the SJW motion you will hurt feelings of the mover and seconder.
