San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick is stirring up controversy after his refusal to stand for the American national anthem during recent pre-season games.
His refusal to stand for the national anthem was a show of solidarity with Black Lives Matter. The 49ers released a statement affirming their support for his right to choose whether to stand or sit during the anthem but it's an important part of pregame tradition, regardless.
But the national anthem isn’t about race, religion, or any other issue the Black Lives Matter movement and social justice warriors want to make it about.
It symbolizes victory, freedom and the many American patriots that have fought and died for Kaepernick’s right to either sit or stand during the singing of the national anthem.
In my video, I look at Kaepernick’s background and current success and point out the hypocrisy at play in his disrespectful action.
