4/20 Toronto: Cannabis fans critical of Trudeau

David MenziesMission Specialist

I went down to Toronto's Yonge & Dundas Square yesterday to ask marijuana aficionados what they thought about Justin Trudeau's plan to finally legalize marijuana by next July. You might be surprised by their reactions:

Rick Plesnik, yes, the elites will get richer as well as all the foreign investors! As a cartel leader, will Justin be excluded from state visits to the US?
commented 2017-04-23 13:56:34 -0400
Wait until these persons discover all that Justin is doing is setting up a cartel with himself at the head of it, designed to make the Laurentian Elites rich(er)!

Quite frankly I did not see one person who looked to be a productive citizen.

I will bet the vast majority are on some sort of social assistance – possibly all of them.

Judgemental?

You bet.

Accurate?

Quite likely.

Jack Carter " what they think about Trudeau is irrelevant ". Really, these happy people of your’s helped get this pot smoking feminist hippy elected. The only thing these idiots care about politicly is their selfish want, to smoke this crap. In your eyes, you saw mostly happy people. Well, in my eyes, all I saw was mostly a bunch of morons who could barely rub two braincells together. Next federal election, it would be interesting if before someone votes, they were to have to pass a drug test first. While we are at it, it might not be a bad idea that before any muslims can vote, they should be required to swear on the Kuran, that they denounce sharia law. Now, that would mean that Trudeau would not get the votes from his biggest supporters, and the rest of us, who deeply care about this great country of ours, can go and vote logically and rationally for what we think is best for all Canadians.
Before someone comments back, and calls me an islamophobe (Jack). I will admit that I believe that any muslims who supports and condones sharia law, has no right to be in this country and most definitely should not be allowed to vote in any election. If that makes me an islamophobe, it’s good to know that I have a lot of company.

Another fact overlooked by the pot advocates:

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/psychosis-triggered-by-smoking-pot-marijuana-study-says-yes/
“Psychosis Triggered by Smoking Pot? Marijuana Study Says Yes”
The study, published online in “Archives of General Psychiatry,” shows that potheads develop severe mental illnesses like schizophrenia about 2.7 years earlier than people who don’t use marijuana.
The link between smoking pot and mental illness appears strongest in children 12 to 15 years of age, Reuters reported. They develop mental illnesses that might not have shown up until their late teens or twenties – if they showed up at all.
“The results of this study provide strong evidence that reducing cannabis use could delay or even prevent some cases of psychosis,” study author Dr. Matthew Large, of the University of New South Wales, said in a written statement."

http://www.livescience.com/24873-marijuana-psychosis-pot-side-effects.html
“People who smoke pot may be at increased risk for psychosis if they have a certain genetic marker, a new study finds.
The results show people with this genetic marker who use cannabis are twice as likely to experience psychosis compared with those who use the drug but do not have the genetic marker.
Among people who use the drug every day, the risk for psychosis increases sevenfold for those who have the genetic marker.”

Edward Jobin commented
“Hyacinth: I once heard that smoking marijuana could cause enlargement of men boobs. I think David Menzies should have thought about the second hand smoke issue you raised before taking these kinds of assignments. I wonder if it has the same effect on women?”

You are correct, it does cause that in some men:
http://www.newsmax.com/US/marijuana-smoking-man-breasts/2013/12/05/id/540239/
“Smoking marijuana may cause gynecomastia, also known as man boobs, according to plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn.
Gynecomastia can occur when a man has more estrogen in his body than testosterone, which can result in the development of more breast tissue than what is typical in most men, Youn explains in an editorial he wrote for CNN.
The active ingredient cannabis has been shown to decrease the testosterone levels in animals, creating an imbalance in the ratio of testosterone to estrogen. This also causes testicles to shrink and abnormalities to develop as well as affects how sperm functions. …… Youn concludes smoking pot “probably” can give someone man boobs even though more studies are still needed to prove the connection.
He added that it has become routine for himself and the majority of other plastic surgeons he has talked to ask gynecomastia patients if they smoke pot, and if so, “it’s probably best to put out that joint.” "

http://www.bendbulletin.com/health/1332580-151/does-pot-use-cause-breast-growth-in-men
“Of the 100 or so patients who come to him for breast reduction surgeries each year, more than one-third report regular marijuana use.
“Some men are more susceptible to gynecomastia than others,” he says. Smoking pot can lower testosterone levels for 24 hours, he says. After just one joint, patients have reported feeling swelling and puffiness around the nipple, while regular users may have no reaction, at least in their breast tissue.”

http://www.tulsasurgicalarts.com/Blog/1186
“However, according to Dr. Steven Goldman, a surgeon experienced in male breast reduction, “young men who use marijuana through puberty may have that transient, temporary breast enlargement become permanent, because as their testosterone levels are altered by the marijuana they can get interference with the normal development.”
Marijuana suppresses the natural level of testosterone, which is a hormone crucial to male development. This creates an imbalance of estrogen, a hormone crucial to female development. This overall imbalance contributes to breasts that are of more feminine contour."

I am only concerned about young pot smokers, as there is pretty good research that it can cause developmental problems. Some adults are also adversely affected (Marg Trudeau), but it’s adult smoker beware.
I object to everyone and their brother being classified a medical user. It’s mostly bullsht. Having said that, it offers some amazing benefits for some ailments and is not given proper credit.

But the bottom line is prohibition won’t stop cannabis use, and legalizing it won’t do anything to keep it out of the hands of kid’s. I agree with Tammie, decriminalization makes more sense, that and education.

Oh BTW…just one of the things I have not yet found in any of Justin’s reform is repeal of piss testing for athletes. Now NOBODY would say that marijuana is a “performance enhancer”…the issue is that atheletes are supposed to be “role models” ….

I attended a coaching seminar last weekend….the rules are laid out strict and zero tollerance….the unspoken elephant in the room was the fact that MANY sports are dying out rapidly and are having trouble attracting young and fresh blood. ….. many of whom just don’t want to be caught out on a piss test that proves nothing nor needs to be a “shame on you”….if you are just discrete and “don’t ask don’t tell”.

Let the stoning begin.

Hyancinth, you bring up very important points. In Ottawa, there are “hookah” establishments who are demanding the smoking laws be set aside so consumers can enjoy “religious” smoking! Ridiculous….
They are seeking yet another so called accommodation, and, with the pattern of capitulation from all levels of government they will probably be allowed to smoke indoors at these establishments.
Pot smokers will be relegated to the great outdoors, 10 meters from any entrance to meet the by-laws.

Jack Carter if you asked them if they prefer a free and open market or the liberal cabal i bet the vast majority would say an open free market, but of course you would deny that as well.

Jack Carter sorry they forgot you already spoke for them. LMAO! Now keep up your man crush on the buffoon.

Polititians , what did they used to promise — a chicken in every pot , now it’s pot in every chicken
The CRIMEMINISTER put it off for another year, because by the time the pot heads are negatively affected by these heavy handed rules and regulations , it will have been voted in again

High information voters— good one JOBIN

“Trudeau supporters are high information voters.”

It definitely shows – “uh ahh …. smoking is fun bro ..”

Once legalized those potheads will be in for a rude awakening, it will be taxed to death just as tobacco is and they will also be subject to the the same laws and restrictions as cigarette smokers.

Think the non-smokers will be happy? They claim second hand smoke effects others subjected to it. Do these potheads really think non-smokers will tolerate their second hand smoke? The pot smokers will become the newest lepers in the village.

I just watched this video and most were happy people who couldn’t wait until next year. What they think about Trudeau otherwise is irrelevant. Talk about clickbait.

As I have posted on other articles, Trudeau’s supporters will be sorely disappointed when he enacts his quasi-legalization scheme. It was pot smokers and Islamists who got him elected. The Islamists are happy with Trudeau’s performance, the pot smokers; not so much! Taxing the “government approved pot”, will make foreign investors rich!
Decriminalization makes more sense.
