#cpc16: MP Brad Trost called “bigot” at debate about Conservative Party’s definition of marriage

Faith GoldyArchive

Emotions were running high during a breakout session about the definition of marriage at the Conservative Party convention.

MP Brad Trost tells me what happened behind closed doors.

Boy people are sick.
Firstly, when two people of the same sex are united in a legally recognized ceremony, they should enjoy the same benefits as straight married couples.
Secondly, why does it need to be called marriage? Why not simply say UNION?
Marriage = married people one of each gender
Union = united people of the same gender
Seems like everyone is acting like a bunch of spoiled brats “Mommy, little Johnny has one piece of candy more than me! Wa wa wa wa sob sob and sniffle” while laying on the floor screaming in a tantrum.
Makes you wonder where all the grown ups are.
All we see are the politically correct MUSLIBS (Muslim + Liberals = MUSLIBS)

Stephen Hutmacher,
Thanks for the link.

I listened to Edward Mechmann’s 45 minute monologue defending traditional marriage, but it did not change my mind.
Actually it reinforced the opposite more.

There was a litany of fallacies in his argument, including…

• The Natural Fallacy
- marriage stems from our nature as male and female
also…
- because male and female have complimentary body parts designed for procreation

• The Slippery Slope Fallacy
- next thing you know 3 or more people will be allowed to get married

• Begging The Question Fallacy
- we just can’t let someone redefine the definition of marriage for myself, my society, or my children. It’s just something we can’t let happen.

• The Appeal To Fear Fallacy
- threatens the stability of society

• The Redefinition Fallacy
- this changes the meaning of marriage, so they can’t use that word anymore

• The Presupposition Fallacy
- marriage is no longer monogamous if it’s not between a man and woman.

• The Irrelevance Fallacy
- belaboring on ‘we need to speak the truth’

I could actually go on.

It’s about time the conservatives backed gay marriage. Although I generally do not agree with Trudeau, I will admit that he was right to mock the conservatives for being a decade late. Rona Ambrose dismissing Trudeau’s comment as a cheap shot was weak.

Hearing members of the conservative party throw out liberal key words was somewhat upsetting. It seems like the conservatives turning into a left wing party goes to show that the party is caving into the left. Do we really need to hear conservatives blab about diversity, inclusiveness,, and kissing the asses of women and minorities?

And Kellie Lietch is full of shit. She was asked by CBC about her position on the niqab at the citizenship ceremony. She could not even answer this question. Instead, she just rambled endlessly on other things, such as how the liberals do not want to debate. What a worthless piece of shit. She should quit politics and go back to the hospital.

It seems like there is nobody worthy of becoming the new conservative leader.

Michael Mann since when is marriage a right? And why can’t it be called something else? And tell me why i have to pay for abortions, where are my rights?

Like Faith said, refreshing to have someone stick to their principles & not allow themselves to be bullied because they dare think differently (no, you’re not homophobic or a bigot) just because of your beliefs.

Deborah,

In case you didn’t know – marriage didn’t come from God and existed long before Christianity was invented.

Maybe you should educate yourself before you speak.

Liza,

Um, it was a human rights issue and that’s why Canada made gay marriage legal in 2005. Why should gay people not have the same rights as you? Why shouldn’t they also be able to get married like you can?

Why be on the wrong side of history?

Paul Wood – commented
“Kevin O’Leary should hide his head in shame, “I don’t care if you marry a goat”.. I won’t bother analysing it,,pathetic.. we’re in trouble.”

It sickened me what he said that too! Marriage comes from God, and he is obviously not a believer, or he never would have said that. I would never vote for him, based on that comment alone.

The PC’s are no longer conservative. What the hell is this? gay marriage completely break .. it’s sad, sick, lonely, and should definitely not be encouraged. Anyone who calls is ‘marriage’ has a low shoddy idea of marriage. Historically we know ‘gayism’ broke through only when marriage in Canada and the WEst broke down. The real life style, if known across this country, would shock even the most prurient. Yes, no reason then for pigamy, polygamy and pedophile to go through in time. Nothing in law to stop it, nothing in the conscience of many here to object. Everything is YES, nothing is wrong, or unhealthy of holy. No sense of the sacred, no real truth-based conscience formation, anti-white, anti-Christian, anti-Semitic…lots of ‘antis’ for a pro-choice party (lol, as if they’re pro choice)cultural evolution, and Canadians are among the first to accept it. Once you’re on that slippery slope, it s one thing after another. Middle Eastern Christian are dying for their faith, Canadians are killing the faith. Values!
Kevin O’Leary should hide his head in shame, “I don’t care if you marry a goat”.. I won’t bother analysing it,,pathetic.. we’re in trouble. We need a new party!.. These PC’s are all allowing themselves to be bought off by the gay lobby.. nothing different from the Liberals: pansexualism, cultural evolution and scared to death of ISIS and Saudi Arabia. So, yeah, we need a new party. Trump’s way to fame, did not start with money. I ‘ve watched every second of it. It began with his call to secure the borders in the south as the crime rate and drug cartel is out of control; then it was his claim that we all had a right to our opinion ,re: kill political correctness; then he declared himself ’pro-life’ and promised to name 3-4 pro-life Supreme Court Judges. We are in a very very bad state. We’ve taken no heed from Europe at all; Marine LePen was rightly shocked recently to see what Trudeau is doing with immigration .. the same and worse as Europe, after so much exposure. She rightly called it ‘insanity’. The Tories, on this track, will soon ban us from being pro-life; will shut us down for being in defense of life, family, God,freedom and love, as the Liberals have done.. minor issues! Yeah, Kevin, the economy is more important.

Bravo Zulu commented – “Calling someone a bigot for this is simply good reason to take the name caller out back and give that person a good beating with a 2×4”

I hear ya – there was a time in political discourse when honor demanded the slander back his words in a dual or at least a match of fisticuffs.

Politics has become so boring since craven slandering made it into a sport for nutless dweebs.

Bigot?

I guess no one is to be allowed to speak their thought or the truth in event a CINO calls you a bigot – you either fold or you get raked over the coals.

Calling someone a bigot for this is simply good reason to take the name caller out back and give that person a good beating with a 2×4

STEVE HICKEN

When you speak of “lies and deceit” look that the state of the CPC. CINOs are remaking that party in their own liberal image. They intend to make the CPC interchangeable from the Liberals, or even the NDP. In that sense, they are a false conservative party, no more than a fraud to assure political careers for their hacks.

There is a purge underway in the CPC that will see the CINOs get rid of the true conservatives. JT must be falling down laughing right now.

I was disappointed on the result of the marriage bill. However that it’s between a man and a woman will never change for me. The union between the same sex should be recognized legally, but call it something else. The definition of marriage was never a political problem to fix or mess with in the first place.
There will be someone who is socially conservative running I hope. I’d like to hear what Sheer would say, I hope he can be convinced to run.
commented 2016-05-28 22:40:40 -0400
And they call it the what? party???
commented 2016-05-28 22:20:31 -0400
Sounds like the CPC have finally realized that the path to victory lies in the centre. Let’s get effective leadership that doesn’t reek of anachronistic social conservatism!

Dieter Cunth should dissolve the Liberal party for their dictatorial ways, the lies and deceit.
commented 2016-05-28 21:59:16 -0400
Well, we can only ask: is the Conservative Party the same Conservative Party?
It sounds as though ‘this’ Conservative Party is turning its coat to satisfy the trends of today.
I have previouslly quoted the story of how Stalin assigned 1100 men to enter the seminary to create chaos in the Catholic Church.
Is this happening in the Conservative Party?
commented 2016-05-28 21:53:39 -0400
Seems that the CINOs are trying to cleanse the CPC of those who hold true conservative positions.

There can be no doubt that the CINO gang represented by the likes of Ambrose and Rempel are determined to wipe out any hint of conservatism in the CPC, making the party the Liberals by another name.

The CPC has been revealed to be a fraud. Time to dissolve it.
