#CPC18: Ezra and Sheila's Conservative Convention wrap-up

Ezra LevantRebel Commander

Ezra Levant and Sheila Gunn Reid sum up their coverage of the Conservative Party of Canada's convention in Halifax:

They talk about Scheer's lack of leadership and the dairy cartel's stranglehold on him and the convention.

PLUS: Hundreds of people came out to The Rebel Media's get-together on Friday night — the event went on despite multiple threats to the venue from Antifa.

NASDAQ & S&P 500 hit new record highs because of @realDonaldTrump‘s historic trade deal with Mexico. Yet another deal that the establishment said could never be done. Yet another story that will barely get media coverage because it doesn’t fit the media’s narrative of hate Trump.

If he’s ready to go he’s got my vote too.. I contributed $100 to his campaign I know it’s not much but I am on a fixed income.

Liza, thank you for your thought provoking response.

What I can say for sure is that if Bernier gets his party up and going with the 338 candidates for this coming election then he has my vote and financial contribution.

Flatwater I appreciate what your saying…Maximum/Canadians… cannot “afford a little time the dust is just settling.!”

Hit the ground runnin’..each minute lost is a minute you can’t get back.

In a series of replies to my comment some 9 hours ago Ron Christensen said,

“And using quotes from a troll seems a little petty to me !”

-> I was quoting Sonny because I was replying to him. I do that so the person I am replying to can reference what of theirs I am responding to.

Ron Christensen also said earlier to my comment, “… if you think for one minute that people that have principles are going to vote against any conservative party and let boy groomer in again for another term than I guess you might be misinterpreting things …”

That may very well be. It wouldn’t be the first time I misinterpreted things and probably won’t be the last.

You are right, saying “It sound petty to me.” was probably not the best thing to post.

Easy Robert… He’s got to get a few people together and he needs a little money to do that.. he’s in the process of putting contributions together and I sent him an email about a marketing strategy involving hats hoodies and T-shirts .. give the man a little time the dust is just settling.!

I’m no campaign manager by all means..Should Maximum effect for 2019 be hitting the streets with rally’s? Should he get in trudeau’s face? Scheer’s face? My opinion is yes!..Fire at will… all of trudeau’s failures and non action and actions against Canadians.

Foremost the attack is on trudeau..then the segway for Scheer’s actions or inactions to follow.

Brad wall is from Saskatchewan and he’s fully retired.. but then you never know.!!
commented 2018-08-27 15:55:41 -0400
I saw that Ron Voss. I posted it as an addition to yours. The archive link is mostly 16/17 as well, with the odd older one as well as some added this year. It seemed more detailed, unless there is somewhere else to go from that page you linked that I am missing.
It seems to me that in one of his comments in and around his departure, that he mentioned to check out his archives also.
commented 2018-08-27 15:15:43 -0400
Does anyone know if the other Brad (Wall) would join Bernier?
commented 2018-08-27 13:59:40 -0400
Brad needs a job and would be an excellent choice for the new party.!!
Another great addition would be Tanya Granic Allen.. another outstanding patriot with normal conservative views.!!
There are so many good patriots with enough time to bring them on board and create an omnipotent presence.!!

Liza, as I posted earlier, he said that his policies and platform for his new party would be the same as the policies that he had put forward during the Conservative Party of Canada leadership race in 2016-17:

Maybe the timing is good then eh Ron.

“hopefully he will reach out to Brad Trost perhaps Kelly, Pierre”. Brad Trost lost his nomination with the assistance of the CPC head office, Kelly I don’t know, Pierre if yiu nean Pierre Lemieux, is seeking nomination as a CPC candidate.

HYACINTH commented, “Wouldn’t it be nice if whipping votes would be banned from politics? Whipping a vote is not democratic. What happens to the peoples’ voice if the leader decides to whip a vote, none of the MPs can voice their riding’s opinion, the only “winners” (am loathe to use that terminology) are the ones that agree with the whipped vote position.” I have heard Derek Fildebrandt take such a position for his Freedom Conservative Party so I suspect Bernier would hold the same position.

Muta, the CPC is on the wrong side of the immigration issue especially in Quebec. They should be afraid of Max, very afraid.
commented 2018-08-27 13:02:05 -0400
Our CPC MP is apparently holding a meet and greet to discuss the issue of Maxime Bernier .
Why would they have a meeting if they think Maxime will just go away?
commented 2018-08-27 12:53:33 -0400
Hyacinth.. I agree.!!! Scrapping the tax is good enough for now, Secure a voter base and his platform policies are crystal clear all the way from the dairy cartel to proper firearm laws for law-abiding citizens and re-defined borders once again along with many other common sense things that anybody can look at on his website. I like when Max speaks of removing the ability of the RCMP to create laws involving firearms and then enforce Those laws … Laws are to be made by elected officials only… Anything less is a police state.!!
Max is the man for the job.. hopefully he will reach out to Brad Trost perhaps Kelly, Pierre and the many other conservatives that will represent us much better. And all star team would be fine with most of the candidates that were running for the leader ship..
I will feel much better when I can breathe a sigh of relief.

Robert H., was there ever a doubt?
commented 2018-08-27 12:41:25 -0400
Ron, the fix was in for the Dairy Cartel, we have a scandal.

Trump will likely take down both Trudope and Scheer.

NAFTA No More: President Trump Announces United States-Mexico Trade Agreement

Trump said they will be starting negotiations with Canada very soon and the he will be calling the Canadian Prime Minister. “If they’d like to negotiate fairly we’ll do that. You know they have tariffs of almost 300 percent on some of our dairy products so we can’t have that, we’re not going to stand for that,” said Trump. He indicated that the U.S. may levy tariffs on Canadian auto imports to the U.S. He suggested a separate deal would likely be forged with Canada, but left room for the possibility of including Canada in the deal with Mexico.

Guess I view it a bit differently Ron Voss, I’ll be pleased that the tax will be scrapped. As is many Canadians are struggling to make ends meet, we the private sector are taxed to death, only the bloated public sector doesn’t feel the pinch because of their guaranteed raises and perks. But yes I agree he should make it clear.

Wouldn’t it be nice if whipping votes would be banned from politics? Whipping a vote is not democratic. What happens to the peoples’ voice if the leader decides to whip a vote, none of the MPs can voice their riding’s opinion, the only “winners” (am loathe to use that terminology) are the ones that agree with the whipped vote position.

commented 2018-08-27 12:21:27 -0400
Hyacinth while good he would scrap the carbon tax he also said, “I am in politics to defend ideas, real conservative ideas”, and the idea of man-made climate change promoted by every leftwing organization including the media, the anti-oil environmental groups, the unions, the U.N., etc ishardly a conservative idea! If he doesn’t believe it, he should say so because I thought he is offering honest, straight-shooting ideas. He wasn’t present when Scheer whipped his MPs to support the Liberal motion affirming the Paris Climate Accord. Thus what is position on the PCA? Would he scrap it as well like Trump? Looking for such clarity from Bernier.
commented 2018-08-27 12:05:41 -0400
“Disappointing that while he calls for the carbon tax to be scrapped, he doesn’t call out the whole enterprise of man-made, er, people-made, climate change as a hoax propagated by the leftists and globalists.”

Still I applaud his initiative, that tax will cause so much damage to the economy and Canadians. All politicians of all political stripes need to take a lesson from Australia on this point, they repealed it due to the damage their economy suffered from it. Learn from mistakes not repeat them.
“Today, the tax that you voted to get rid of is finally gone: a useless, destructive tax which damaged jobs, which hurt families’ cost of living and which didn’t actually help the environment,” Abbott told reporters in Canberra.

Trump will now give Canada a “take it or leave it offer”, well played team Junior. Game On.
