It’s tough being a print magazine like Maclean’s in the age of the Internet. Someone must have told Maclean's that becoming a Justin Trudeau fan-zine would work.
But their rate card says they have fewer than 17,000 people a day coming to their website.
Meanwhile, it’s not rare for TheRebel.media to have 100,000 people a day, plus a quarter million views a day on YouTube…
Anyway, we all remember what Trudeau did in the House of Commons last week: Throwing a tantrum, swearing, grabbing, elbowing.
It was a disaster. Almost all Liberals kept quiet.
But not Scott Gilmore, the husband of Catherine McKenna, the environment minister.
He also writes in Maclean’s.
So Gilmore wrote:
"I’m married to Catherine McKenna, the minister of the environment, who the replay video shows was also the first over the boards (to stop it) when Trudeau and Mulcair dropped their gloves.”
To stop what? Trudeau from grabbing and elbowing people? Or to stop Mulcair — who wasn’t doing anything other than hollering.
Not only is Gilmore lying about what Mulcair did, but he’s surely lying about his wife. Was she actually going to physically restrain her boss from manhandling the opposition?
Gilmore has always been a weak columnist. But he’s an even worse spin doctor.
Gilmore didn’t mention Trudeau’s cursing, or his grabbing Gord Brown. He didn’t say who Trudeau elbowed, or that it obviously hurt her.
But Gilmore did say the opposition’s reaction was “painfully insulting”. Got it? Trudeau didn’t cause any pain. The NDP did.
I love this line: "Tempers flared. They acted out. We all do it.” No, only one man acted out — Trudeau. No, we don’t all swear at people at work, and grab people we don’t like on purpose, and elbow others negligently.
We’d be fired if we did.
Gilmore downplays what Trudeau did, by saying there are real rapes and assaults in Canada, so stop complaining about Trudeau:
"Every single one of these MPs should go back to their ridings, and take an hour to visit an emergency room, a family court, or a woman’s shelter, and there they should look the victims in the face and try to explain how badly they were traumatized by the Prime Minister.”
Yeah, don’t you dare criticize my wife’s boss, everyone. There are real rapists out there!
Is any one really surprised that Maclean’s is going out of business?
Benita Dunn: Are you the cunned stunt who commented the other day about the way something was done back in Jolly Old England. I think it was you. Maybe you should consider moving back to Englandistan.
As for the bum wiping rag Macleans has become, Gilmore fits in well. What is hard to understand is why he would admit to being McKenna’s husband. YUK

Ask Eitan if I am Betina – he will tell you that I am not.
I know it kills you that some people here actually like what I have to say, since you hate me so much.
They are so right about you on that other forum. Nice face by the way.
Sure, Michael, sure. Whatever you say, Michael.
Keep up the good work!
It’s laughable that an opposing view is deemed as shit disturbing, but I understand that you want to live in your little circle jerk bubble here.
Do you think a general forum where comments would be organized and remain for all to see, would be helpful?? Perhaps the Rebel could introduce such a forum.
YOU are not a real Canadian and I suspect your family would be embarrassed by the idiocy you constantly post on here.
Canadians are not batshit crazy extreme conservatives. Many polls have been done and Canadians are actually varying degrees of liberal.
Majority (63%) of Canadians Say Trudeau Elbow Incident is “No Big Deal” as Approval Ratings (62%) Remain Strong

Trudeau is going to be Prime Minister for quite some time. Maybe you would be happier living in Texas.
Mann, you must be exhausted at the end of your day trying to come up with more nonsense and verbal diarrhea. Thank goodness for Imodium.
Pretty funny Mickey, a megalomanic carrot who presumes it speaks for all Canadians. Vegetables are what they are, they can’t reprent anything but the conditions they are grown in.
Freud would love to get you on a couch.
These issues are “off” topic since this Rebel article was addressing the issue of Maclean’s magazine being the “mouthpiece” of the Liberal Party. However, Ezra, Brian, and other contributors to the Rebel, is this not a great topic for the Rebel to investigate?
You don’t elbow in boxing.
Secondly – what Trudeau did was no different that what might happen on Black Friday when people are trying to push through a crowd to buy a TV on sale.
I am glad that the majority of Canadians think Elbowgate is bullshit and I am not surprised that the morons on The Rebel are trying DESPERATELY to making something out of nothing.
This is not to say he’s a good boxer…..
I am not talking about the election, dummy.
The vast majority of Canadians agree with me. Not you. I am a real Canadian. You are not.
Conservative parties of the past were nothing like they are now. They would be considered liberals today.
Do you know what political party has been most in power in Canada? I will give you a hint – not conservative.
Carrot? Turnip is more appropriate, after all Liberal trolls are usually uninformed. They are firm in their stance that they are always correct even though facts disprove them time and again.

Turnip – “nabo” – is actually used in European Portuguese, meaning dumb, stupid, or just clumsy in a specific task.
