“Empty the Tanks” protesters: Pro-life for “Flipper” but not babies

David MenziesMission Specialist

It’s easy to catch a protest of one kind or another in Toronto’s Yonge Dundas Square, and the latest one we caught is asking for an end to the fishy business of . . . captive fish.

Watch as I share what those who staged an “Empty the Tanks” protest had to say on behalf of the fish who can’t speak.

Though, let’s think about that. Hunter-gathering sustains a very low population per acre of area, vs intensive agriculture – the latter is needed to support 7+ billion people.. The Right complains about low fertility and the potential for declining population, but if you want to be “sustainable” then you need to get population down. If the planet had only 1 billion individuals, then perhaps we could afford to renaturalize vast tracts of the planet and use low-impact practices on the rest – we’d no longer need fossil fuels at that point either even at current technology levels, nor to mine new materials, since previous generation’s wastefulness would provide all the materials you need.

Mr-Babies-Are-Parasites, I don’t disagree with you on this one. All I’m saying is that the moral superiority of the vegan cannot be sustained. Their food choices affect animals and kill them the same as an omnivore does only less directly. Which is why they can display that smug self-righteousness, I suppose.

Andrew urban sprawl has increased some wild spices . Like Canada guess rabbits and deer . No hunting in these areas have lead to a explosion in their numbers to the point of having to cull them . This is never the answer because it is only a matter of time before you have to do it again .
Please tell me how farmers will be able to grow and harvest without fossil fuels ?

“Vegan’s logic is laughable. To feed the world plant food it needs to be grown on fields. Those fields formerly contained wildlife which were displaced so wheat and corn and peas and carrots and.. well you get the idea,… could be grown. Hunting requires that wildlife habitat be preserved. So farming is an excellent way to destroy wildlife habitat.”

Ditzy protestors that conflate cold-blooded “fish” with intelligent mammals like dolphins and whales have only themselves to blame for being ridiculed… Dolphin research says they have more brain matter than humans given body weight… And dolphins and whales have family structures in the wild and communicate over wast distances.. Hence they shouldn’t be captured and placed in “ponds” to do tricks for tourists… Vegans trying to ignore thousands of years of human biology have to accept the fact that their offspring may have genetic problems… Something not often discussed with the “greenie” crowd… People have been eating meat and fish since they climbed down from the trees and lost their tails…

Well I have to completely agree with one thing the ditzy, misguided, morally arrogant vegan in the black hoodie implied….

Fish really are just as much sentient beings as she is.

Yes Allan, you nailed. But to make sure these plants are viable….we will need more Co2, which insure all greenery is thriving.

Don’t get on your moral high horse just yet.

- The “humans only use 10% of their brain” thing is a myth. (Except maybe for these activists.) Was that Harry Potter holding that banner? The fact that they’re animal rights activists & are pro-abortion is not a surprise. They see humans as a scourge that needs to be wiped off the planet (except for themselves of course.) It’s hard to get donations when they admit to that though so they keep that part quiet.

Flipper uses 20% of his brain hell he got the whole liberal government beat by 19%
